Help! I need low calorie snack ideas!

My favorite go to snack is Planter's nutrition. Not necessarily super low in calories, but they are loaded with Protein and really help curb ones hunger. I also like laughing cow cheese as well, so yummy. Lately, I have developed a sweet tooth. While not the healthiest of choices, I have found the new Kellogg's 100 calorie pastry crisps really do a great of satisfying that sweet craving. Sent from my iPad using VST

    I'm not telling.

Deciding whether to tell people or not is a very personal choice, just like deciding to have the surgery. There really is no right or wrong, just do what makes you comfortable. I tell anyone and everyone, because I have had such success and am proud of it. By telling people, many have come to me seeking advice on the surgery for themselves, and it makes me really happy to be able to help others achieve their weight loss goals. 7. I am a band to sleeve revision as well. My band slipped twice and then started to erode. My surgeon had me have my band completely unfilled about a month prior to my revision. Then, for two weeks prior I was on a liquids only diet. All this was to give my tummy the opportunity to heal. I knew going into surgery there was a chance I might have my band removed only, and have to come back later for the sleeve. Fortunately, all the pre-op precautions Dr. Aceves had me do worked, and I was able to have my band to sleeve revision in one surgery. I have had no complications and absolutely no regrets! 9. I had my surgery in Mexico and flew home to Florida three days later. I let the flight attendants k ow I had just had surgery and they were very attentive to my needs. They even heated up the broth the doctor sent home with me so I would have something to eat on the flight. I recommend taking a small pillow for your tummy, it really helped me on the plane to be more comfortable with something to support it. Sent from my iPad using VST

That is great that you were able to share this with her. I am glad she is being supportive, family support means the world. Mom is going to worry, all moms do that. My mom is 80 and I am 46 and she still worries about me all the time. Sent from my iPad using VST

    Cardio after surgery

I was able to do walking at an easy pace the first week. As far as actual heavy cardio exercise, I had to wait six weeks. Sent from my iPad using VST

    Self Pay Questions!

To the OP, wherever you choose to have surgery, I wish you much success. I think you have received some great advice here and hopefully have some ideas on where in the US you can research for having your surgery. I had mine done in Mexicali with Dr. Aceves. I never once felt unsafe in any way. As mentioned by other posters, Medical Tourism would not be very popular if the patients were placed in dangerous situations. Additionally, you are never truly alone, as all of the surgeons have staff accompany you from the time you arrive at the San Diego airport until the time you depart from the airport. The care I received in Mexico was actually better than any care I have ever received in a US hospital. I was nervous going to, but once there, realized all of my fears were completely unfounded. We look forward to hearing who you decide on and following your success here on our forums.

    Not worth it.

Thank you for starting another one of these kind of threads. I am now closing it because all they tend to do is incite more drama, of which we are working hard at eliminating.

  22. Dianne, please revisit the rules of our forums. In fact, many of those very rules have been sited in this thread by myself, O.T.R. and Alex, the forum owner. You are welcome to disagree with someone, but do not outright accuse them of being a liar simply because you disagree. She is as welcome to our forum to share her story and seek advice and support as you are. As for joining this site being the worst thing you've done for your sleeve, well, I am sorry you feel that way. However, part of the reason we are presently having the exact problems you mentioned is due to people coming on here and making accusations against members, being disrespectful and violating our forum rules. A reminder to everyone, a great way to avoid the "drama" is not to create it. Try following our forum rules. Be polite, be respectful. If you see a post you disagree with and are unable to respond in an respectful, adult manner, then simply move on without posting. Stop commenting on others posts who have been rude, and simply ignore them and respond to what the OP posted. Continually commenting on the drama, quoting people you think are causing it, etc. only further fuels the fire.
  23. No, do not go back and forth on this all day. Stop the bickering now, please, everyone. Thank you. Susan, Forum Administrator Sent from my iPad using VST

    RIP Lappy ;(

I absolutely believe what you posted. I am a band to sleeve revision as well. Prior to having my revision, the band had slipped twice and was beginning to erode into my stomach. Dr. Aceves had me have a complete unfill three weeks prior to my scheduled sleeve surgery and for the two weeks prior, I was on a liquids only diet. This was done to give the swelling a chance to go down. Going into the surgery, Dr. Aceves made it very clear to me that there was about a 50/50 chance of having my sleeve revision done at the same time as the band removal and that it depended upon on how bad the erosion was and if we were successful in bringing the swelling down. Fortunately, we were successful and I was able to have the band removed and the sleeve done all at the same time. I wish you the best of luck with your wonderful new tool. And, of course, we are always here to help answer any questions you may have.
