That was hysterical! :biggrin1: :clap2: Although, I am embarassed to admit to having done of few of those moves myself.

Good luck tommorow 3loves, I am sure you will do wonderful! Jump on the board and let us know how you are feeling as soon as you are up to it.

Marianne, I hate those brown Patches and skin tags too. Most of all, I hate HATE the facial hair! I think I keep the facial wax people in business. I am hoping losing some of the weight might help with the PCOS symptoms.

Ive got a surgery date but.........
*susan* replied to sarabluebell's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am with Photo Nut, once I finished my research and decided the band was for me, I couldn't wait for my date to get here. I was so excited, I couldn't think about anything else. I went to bed thinking about it, woke up thinking about it and thought about it all day. -
Hi all, I have not had my first fill yet. It will be 4 weeks tomorrow since my surgery. So, I called and left a message on my doctor's voice mail saying "please schedule me an appointment for a fill". I can't wait, because right now I don't feel like I even have a band. Well, that is not entirely true. I cannot eat bread as it causes major pain. I have also noticed that I cannot drink anything with ice or that is real cold or it hurts. Does anyone else have that problem?

I have only had one since my surgery, but it was "normal". I have PCOS too, excpet mine caused me to have them every 17 days, they would last for 12 days and be overly heavy. Then I had an endometrial ablation last year and barely even have them anymore. Ahhh, now if my band surgery is as successful as my ablation surgery, I will have achieved extreme bliss with my body.

That is a great NSV, congrats! I will now hang my head and admit that at first I didn't even understand what you were talking about when you used shoes and bows in the same sentence. I haven't worn shoes that have to be tied in years because it takes to much effort to bend over and tie the darn things! Isn't that just sad?

I haven't received anything, but maybe I haven't been banded long enough. Either that, or my spam filter caught it and deleted it.

My First Post... Looking forward to surgery....

Hi Steve, I just wanted to join everyone in welcoming you to LBT! I am newly banded and find this a great source of information and support. Best of luck. -
With regards to marshmallows, I am sorry, but if I am going to eat marshmallows, they are going to be roasted over a fire and slapped between two graham crackers and a hershey bar! :faint:

I feel like I haven't even been banded
*susan* replied to EllenVick's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I too am experiencing the same thing right now. Fortunately, I have been on these boards for a couple of months now and pretty much expected it. I haven't gained anything since my surgery, but I haven't lost either. In fact, I just left a message on my surgeon's office voicemail asking them to please set me an appointment for my first fill. -
My first "PB" - LOL! - vomit, really (a bit gross)
*susan* replied to gadgetlady's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had to laugh a little when I read your post and it said it was a pleasant vomiting experience. :biggrin1: I have not pb'd, but I have had the golf ball and sliming, and that was awful. I figured I haven't been filled yet, so I thought bread would go down fine for me. Boy, was I wrong, it was the most painful experience I ever went through. At one point I thought I was going to pass out. I looked at my hubby and told him to take me to the ER and get this thing out of me. Fortunately, he didn't and I still have my band, lol. But, I have sworn off bread forever, the resulting consequences are just not worth it. -
I think my port is leaking...please help
*susan* replied to HamuChan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
 Hamu, I don't have much more to add, as all the ladies that have already posted are far more knowledgable and experienced on this subject than I am. I just wanted to let you know I feel for you and am thinking about you. Just remain calm until you see your doctor, and as the others said, if the nurse did cause any problems, make sure you demand the repairs are done at their expense, not yours. Let us know how everything goes. -
Got a date! Future Bandster June 2nd
*susan* replied to SALEMKITTY's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Dawn, congrats on getting a date, that is fabulous! I am so sorry you had such trouble with the insurance company. It seems so silly to me that so many of them exclude weight loss surgery, when by having it, you can prevent so many future health problems. Mine wouldn't cover either, and we refinanced our house to pay for it. I know here in the Jacksonville area, my surgeon said none of the insurance companies will pay. He said they discussed it with Blue Cross/Blue Shield and they said the reason is because nowadays there is so much competition for health care. While a company may have BC/BS as their carrier this year, next year Aetna or some other company may offer them a better deal and they switch. So, he said they have found there really is no long term benefit in their covering weight loss surgery. -
Hi Cathy and Welcome! You have found an awesome board for support and advice. Whereabouts in upper Michigan? I live in Florida, but am a transplant from Michigan. I used to live in Sparta, which is north of Grand Rapids. We spent our summers in Beulah, which is more northern Michigan.

I have not had my first fill yet, but have had the golf ball and sliming. I cannot eat bread, which is something I love but probably good that I can't eat it because I used to eat a lot with my meals.
-
I hope you have a great trip. The weather here in Jacksonville is beautiful today, spent some time in the pool this morning and it was wonderful!

Being banded in 4 days...im freakin out!!
*susan* replied to GreatDame's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The days just before getting the band can be an emotional roller coaster. I went through moments of excitement, panic, excitement again. But, once the actual morning of the surgery arrived, I was completely at peace. If you have done your research and committed to making this work, you will do just fine. I did not have my band done in Mexico, so I cannot speak from experience, but I have read several posts from other bandsters who did and am hoping they will respond to your post. From what I have read, they have all had very good experiences and the staff there work very hard to make everything as easy and comfortable for you as possible. -
Yoda, Isn't it funny how attached we become to some things? Just think though, you will probably be able to find lots of those kinds of sweaters that fit you beautifully now.
-
That is a fabulous NSV, congrats!
-
Ron, Wow, you are only 2 day's away from your band, congratulations. I am sure everything will go great for you, it sounds like you have a great support system. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Make sure you check back in with us as soon as you feel up to it and let us know how you are doing.

I've packed my bags and I'm ready to go...
