    Put Up Or Shut Up

:attention::blah: Hello? Um, mods, I think you forgot someone...Hello? Is anyone listening? :boxing:

    Hi from Houston Tx =)

Hey ya TexasBr@t, I just wanted to check in and see how things went today. As soon as you feel up to it, let us know how you are feeling. Karen, welcome to LBT and congrats on getting your band. I am glad you are feeling better. It took me a little over a week to get feeling better too.
  3. Hey Vivian, I just want to say hi and welcome you to LBT and bandland. You will love it here. I think my biggest advice would be to remember to follow what your doctor says and remember that between now and the time of your first fill, you are going to be healing. Don't be discouraged if you stop losing weight. Many of us don't see a big change in weight until we reach proper restriction.

    Just banded 8/30 and Nauseous

I can vouch for the zofran, it works very well. In fact, I have a known history of nausea and vomiting after surgery, so my doctor sent me home with it. I took it and had no vomiting at all. I hope she gets to feeling better soon. And I hope she knows how lucky she is in having such a wonderful, caring and supportive husband such as yourself.

    Massage with band

Ok, a bit OT, but I have never had the joy of having a massage. I have always been too embarrassed about my fat rolls. I guess that is something I have to look forward to after my weight comes off. I can make it one of my rewards.

    On the losing Swing again!

:biggrin1: Yay for you! Doesn't it feel good when the fill finally gives you restriction and the pounds start coming off. I got my restriction with my 2nd fill two weeks ago and am loving it.

    Multivitamin Enough?

Great, I loved Flintstone's chewables when I was a kid. As long as they have basically the same value as an adult vitamin, I have no problem with taking them.

    6 month bandiversary

Wheetsin, that is awesome. Thanks for posting all that you have accomplished, what an inspiration.
  9. My incisions were glued, which I liked so much better. And, I never had any bandages at all.

    Multivitamin Enough?

I haven't been taking any, but I feel like I need to. I know there is no way I could possibly get a normal "adult" vitamin down. I see one of you are doing the children's vitamin. Are they basically the same as the adult? Is there a liquid vitamin that we can take?

    Locking Threads????

Ok, I have a question. I remember when the mods were constantly locking threads and people were upset because we felt we should have a place to vent, etc. So, they created the "Rants and Raves" forum. Supposedly, it is an enter at your own risk thread. In fact, it says, Lap-Band Talk Rants and Raves (NEW!) Gripe, complain, moan, fight, rant and rave. Enter at your own risk! So, lock threads on other posts if need be, but it doesn't seem right to do it on this forum when it says this forum is for griping, complaining, moaning, fighting, ranting and raving. If you don't want that going on, then maybe this forum needs to be completely eliminated. I am not trying to be difficult, it just doesn't make sense. Besides, I have PMS and am feeling a bit witchy right now, lol.

    Put Up Or Shut Up

Damn, Dody, relax and take a pill or something, lol. You are becoming very vicious and bitter. I am more or less avoiding sides, but some of the comments you made last night and early this morning were just plain nasty. And, I have no idea what all the comments are about P'Nut and the drinking, I guess I must have missed a thread before. But, I will say this, if there is a drinking problem involved, she would definitely need our support, not someone making horrible, rude, nasty comments about it. My goodness, first and foremost this is a support board, please don't ever forget that. Alcoholism is a disease and addiction the same as overeating is.

I was eating popcorn at four weeks out, no problem.:hungry:

    Ethical Question

Yep, people say a lot about smoke, but he is very generous with Victory Junction Gang and other charities. He definitely has a soft spot for kids. I think he is misunderstood and seems like a big ol' teddy bear to me. Let's here it for Tony Stewart!!! Yes, I am obsessed with him, sigh.

    Colon Blow anyone?!?

Ok, where is Funny? I don't know why, and I am a little scared, but I want to hear how this works. Is this something you take one time and everything "blows" out, or is it a process that takes place over several days or longer. If one were to try this, do you need to plan on staying close to home for a few days.

    Psych Eval.

I was self-pay and my doctor still required that I have the psych. eval. as well. I think it is more to determine that you fully understand what you are preparing to do, the sacrifices involved and to make sure that you are emotionally ready to have it.

    Ethical Question

Funny is so right on this. My old employer used to push us to give to a specific charity and made me feel very intimidated because I refused. I had a beautiful sister who died when she was only 9 years old. She was born with spina bifida and paralyzed from the waist down. She had 11 surgeries in her short life. Had she only been born 10 years later, she probably would have had a much better chance for life. Anyways, because of this, I am a strong supporter of the spina bifida association. It means a lot personally to me and that is why I give to them. I also love the Victory Junction Gang and what they do for children as well. There was nothing like that for my sister when she was alive. So, I contribute to them as well.

    Colon Blow anyone?!?

I think my dh does the colon blow every night.

    Colon Blow anyone?!?

I don't think I need to know how it comes out "literally". Is this the same thing as the colon cleanse that there was so much discussion over about a month ago?

    Post op help from spouse??

What you will primarily need from your dh is his love, strength and understanding. Physically, you may need help getting out of bed, etc. But, I found I needed more help emotionally from my dh than anything. Especially after being on liquids for 2 1/2 weeks pre-op and then another 10 days post-op. I found myself becoming very emotional and weak and I know I couldn't have made it without him there backing me up and being strong for me. Does that make sense?

    Locking Threads????

Donna, you absolutely crack me up. And, Donna and Dawg, you are right. This thread was started asking exactly what are the rules for the rants and raves forum, if threads are going to be locked here. I just wanted to understand the purpose. I did not mean for the other "stuff" to invade this thread. It is like a weed, it keeps spreading and you can't kill it.

    Fluctuating weight?

Ahh, another reason why I only weigh myself once a week. It would drive me crazy otherwise.
  23. *susan*

    Locking Threads????

Thanks, Diane. I really do think it would all go away if they would just.... go away!
  24. *susan*

    Locking Threads????

Wow, how long did it take you to type all those "blah's"?. That must of took patience. Or did you copy and paste, lol? I agree that what has been going on is insane here on LBT and it is like poison. I believe some people have taken it way to far. However, this forum was created with the idea that anything goes. If it doesn't, then the forum should be eliminated.

    Newbie from Michigan

Wow, I am very familiar with Flint. My parents have friends that have lived there forever. Been to Rockford many a time. Used to go the Rockford bar to eat hotdogs. I never got my name on the wall, but my brothers did, lol. We used to have a cabin on Lake Mitchell up at Pontiac.
