    stupid ? about vomiting

I agree, vomiting is always a risk. We all do it, but I think it depends on how intense the contractions are.
  2. My surgeon will do them starting at 4 weeks out. I didn't actually have my first one until about 7 weeks due to my schedule at work was so busy during that time that I couldn't take an hour to go to the doctor. But, if I hadn't of been so busy, I would have definitely gone at 4.

    Infecting threads

I am starting this thread, as I do not feel it is appropriate to continue to post in a thread about a man who was tragically robbed of his life today about subjects not pertaining directly to that. And for the record, I accessed that thread via the main forums at the top right where it shows recently posted topics, but does not show which thread they are in. I have now been on LBT for several months and love being here. Every board I have ever been on has sections for off-topic discussions, and people know that is what they are for and that anything may be discussed there. Those can and do include topics such as politics and religion. Most of the time, while all do not agree, the discussions are usually kept civil and are an enjoyable debate, whether one chooses to participate or simply observe. I personally am saddened by people who have decided to join our board after all of the drama finally died down and restart things again, especially by attacking some of our older members and the way our forums are set up. My personal opinion, and I am saying this because I have simply had enough of the drama queens, is if you don't like LBT or its format, then don't come here. There are plenty of other boards on the internet that you can go to. If you choose to say, then wonderful, we are happy to have you here and offer our support to you. But please, leave the drama out, stop attacking our beloved members and LBT and do not ruin it for the rest of us.

    Band Surgery Tomorrow

Wow, I am just now getting to the post that you wrote yesterday. That means, you should probably be in surgery right now if we are in the same time zone. Woo Hoo! You are almost an official bandster. Let us know how you did, I am sure everything is going just fine.

when can I take a shower

I also was allowed to shower the day after I went home from the hospital. But, not to sound like an echo, I would see what your doctor wants you to do.
  9. Ok, I realize that technically, what I am putting down as exercise yesterday isn't really exercise, but I worked up quite a sweat and my back and shoulders were sore from it, so I am counting it. I cleaned out a bunch of files and junk in my office and carried 9 big, heavy boxes from one end of our building to the storage room on the other, so I am counting lugging those boxes as I was sweating and huffing and puffing by the time I was done. And, I was too sore to do any other exercise last night. :faint: September Exercise Challenge: 9/1: None 9/2: Ice Cream instead of exercise, bad me. 9/3: 30 minutes on the treadmill! 9/4: None 9/5: 30 minutes on the treadmill 9/6: 45 minutes packing and moving heavy boxes <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

  12. To me, a major part of marriage is about trust and being faithful to one another. If you cannot trust the person you are with, then the marriage is a farce. My first husband cheated on me. On the day I found out, I had all the locks changed, got a restraining order against him and dumped all his most prized possessions on the front law in a big pile. From that point on, there was no marriage because part of our marriage vows included being faithful to one another until death due us part, and he broke that vow, so I broke off the marriage.

    Eating Solids Too Soon?

I always find it interesting how every doctor is different. I went on mushies on day 10 and solids on about day 15. When he said I could go to solids I asked him because so many other's doctors have told them to wait 3-4 weeks. He told me that by day 15, my band is well secured in place and the type of stitches they used are specifically selected with the knowledge that the stomach does work, whether on liquids, mushies, or solids, it is working and the stitches are more than able to hold things together.

    April 2006 Bandits September Chat

Ha Ha, Amourette, we are here. I guess everyone is still recovering from the long weekend. How was your trip? Enjoyable I hope.

    Does this mean I'm full?

Yep, like everyone else said, you are probably full. Everyone's body seems to have a different signal, and you need to listen to yours and learn what it is. When I get the golfball, it is in my upper chest as well. Trust me, you will know when you have one of those!

    Food Cravings are back

Maybe it has something to do with the long weekend or something. I went on a major binge this weekend. Like you, I am determined to get back on track today. When I get a craving, I am immediately trying to find something to busy myself with and that seems to distract me and I lose the craving. The lazier I am, the more I crave and eat.

    Strawberry seeds ???

I was never told to avoid seeds and haven't had any problems at all eating strawberries.

What's the best way to get fiber?

I am very interested in this thread too. I have been having issues with "going" ever since getting my band. I saw these chewable things at the store the other day, I think they are viactin or viactive or something like that. They are supposed to take like chocolate? Has anyone tried them?

    Popcorn?

Jacqui, that is pretty much the same here in the US. It costs more to feed the family than the actual cost of the movie too. And we usually end up wasting a bunch of that food that was such a bargain.
  22. Hey Nana, I know exactly what you are talking about. I completely gave up soda when I went on my pre-op diet. However, a member of my local bandsters group had suggested I drink a small sip of coke when I get stuck. Well, it works for me, I take one small sip and up comes the huge burp and anything that was left in my stomach. I would be terrified to drink it if I wasn't stuck for fear of the same thing happening, which would be lovely if we were out to dinner or something.

    Need Help!!!!!

Hopefully, seeing as you are not experiencing any pain or vomiting, and are able to eat and drink, everything is fine. However, I would call my doctor just to reassure myself of that and see what he/she has to say.

What A Croc: Croc Hunter Killed!!

I would love to work with animals. I think his show had an especially big influence on my daughter. She wants to be a marine biologist someday.

    Tighter with wt loss?

Wow, that is different. I am curious to see if anyone else is experiencing that as well. For me, I get looser as I lose weight.
