    I'm In Trouble

I have a wonderful software program called Master Cook. You can take any receipe you find on the internet and download it into it. It will recalculate ingrediants based on how many servings you want. If you want to use healthier ingredients, it will substitue them for you. It will also breakdown all the nutritional information for you based on the ingredients and their quantity. There are many sites that have receipes specifically for this program. I have found many of the ones that were designed specifically for Master Cook to be very easy to follow. Believe me, I am no cook! But, I have pretty good luck with this program.
  2. Please don't give up, you can do this! Do you have just one day during the week where you would have time to do a good amount of cooking? If so, then you could prepare your meals for the week and freeze them. Then, all you have to do is grab them out of the fridge and go. As far as exercise, any thing you can do to get moving more counts. Park as far away as you can from the building, take the stairs, take a 15 minute break and take a quick, brisk walk, walk during lunch, stand up and do some stretches periodically. Good luck to you and keep your chin up! Your band will be there for you when you need it.
  3. Just a suggestion, but isn't it time we remove this announcement? All of the "problem children" have been banned and many of the other people have moved on. There are presently a lot of new people joining the board and I kind of think this reflects negatively upon us here.

    I'm Starving-Help

I would agree that it is too soon for a fill. What stage of eating does he currently have you on? Are you still on liquids or has he moved you on to mushies? If you are "starving" you are probably not getting enough protein. Are you drinking any protein shakes?

    Can't eat in a.m....why?

I have no idea why we can't either, but I know many, many people have this problem. Since reaching my optimum fill, I can only drink liquids in the morning. By around noon though, I am usually able to eat food.

    Blogs?

I have never been one to keep a blog. Did you click on the LBT journals and read some of the ones that are available for public viewing? There are some that are pretty informative and inspiring.

    Liquid vitamin or chewable?

I am taking the Flintstones, but I don't see why a liquid vitamin wouldn't work just as well. I did try one, but couldn't tolerate the taste (yes, I admit, it was so awful it made me gag and came right back up).

    Bander in Pasadena

Welcome Harlito! You have found a great place for advice, support and friends. Congratulations on getting your band. How are you doing in your recovery? If you have any questions at all, please do not hesistate to ask us.

    Hello everyone

Hi Lamamama, and welcome to LBT! I am so glad you found us, as you will find a lot of wonderful information, support and friends here. Good luck on your surgery tomorrow, before you know it you will be on the road to recovery with your new best friend, the band. Please let us know how everything went as soon as you are feeling up to it.
  18. Being nervous and second guessing yourself before any type of surgery is perfectly normal. My understanding is that slippage is not nearly as likely now as it was several years ago. To be honest, slippage and erosion are not that common. As with any surgery, there is a certain amount of risk involved. But, the benefits far outweight the risks. You probably have spent a lot of time on the complications forum. Focus on some of the other forums, look at the before and after pictures, read some of the success stories of those who have reached goal and/or lost over 100 pounds. The band is a truly wonderful device. It will change your life for the better and I seriously doubt that once you have it, you will ever regret it. In the mean time, please do not hesitate to ask us about any specific concerns or questions you may have. We are here to help you through your entire journey in any way we can.

    Big Hello from the UK

Hi Mastiff Mum, Welcome to LBT, you will love it here. I am sure you are excited and nervous, but October will come and go before you know it, and it will be so worth it. I take it from your name that you a Mastiff? Those are beautiful dogs, big, but beautiful.

    tummy tuck

Congrats, I look forward to reading about how this progresses. I am sure I am going to need one and have already started saving for one, even though I have a lot more weight to lose before I will actually have it done.

    Time between fills?

My surgeon requires that we wait 4 weeks between fills. As you will read in a lot of posts, many people's fills don't even kick in sometimes until 3 or 4 weeks later. If they were to go get more fill at two weeks, and that were the case, they would be at risk of being severely overfilled. I don't think that is anything I would want to experience.

    Home fitness centre

The hubby and I just today made the decision to set up our own little home gym too! We were going to join a gym, but I don't like working out at a gym by myself, and feel a bit uncomfortable with the idea of being the "fat lady" at the gym. With our schedules, I think it would be hard for us both to be at the gym at the same time. Plus, that would be one to two more hours out of the day that my kids would be at home while I am somewhere else. We currently have a Proform Treadmill that is ifit compatible that I love and use all the time with the ifit.com workouts. We went online today and ordered the ProForm Elliptical Machine and Tony Little Ab Lounge Xtreme with Workout DVD from HSN.com. I am so excited for them to get here. We are turning our den into our workout room. I am also going to look at picking up some free weights as well.

    newbie wanting advice on excercise

I don't have much to say that the other posters haven't said already. I just wanted to add that I, along with many others, had restrictions on going swimming for up to six weeks after their surgery. So, make sure you tell your doctor you enjoy the water areobics and see when he feels it will be safe for you to start them again.

    Curves?

I joined about two years ago, went for 3 months and quit, but had to keep paying for another year due to their long contract. I have to be honest, I felt like it did nothing for me. I never even worked up a sweat in the 30 minutes I was there. I wasn't sore or anything and felt like I didn't get anything out of it. Therefore, I couldn't work up the motivation to go.
