    Eating too much?

What stage are you on, mushies? I think the average bandster, with good restriction is able to eat about 4-6 oz of food in a sitting. However, I know from my own experience that I was able to eat a great deal more than that prior to getting my fills and restriction. Basically, once you no longer feel hungry, (no, not stuffed, or uncomfortable, just not hungry and comfortable) then it is time to stop eating.

    How do you block people

Wow, I am sorry she is still bothering you Like I said before, she sent me one pm, but it was asking what I thought was a genuine question about scars and creams to help reduce them. I was surprised, because I had never seen her post before, but am always willing to help someone out. I wondered why she has singled you out. Have you responded to any of her pms? If they are too bad, I agree that I would forward them to a moderator and ask for their assistance.

    Banded Tommorow

Well good luck to both of you. I am sure everything will go just fine. It is normal to be a bit nervous, but once you arrive at the hospital things move so fast and the next thing you know you are waking up in recovery and you have officially entered bandland. My thoughts will be with both of you tomorrow. As soon as you feel up to it, please post and let us know how everything went.

    Newbie from Iowa

Hi Lynn and welcome to LBT! I am glad you decided to start posting, the more the merrier. It seems like there are a lot of insurance plans that just refuse to cover wls. I had to refinance my home in order to pay for my surgery. But, dh and I figure it will be worth it if it means my having a longer, happier and healthier life. I look forward to seeing many more posts from you. Don't be afraid to ask for advice and support, that is what we are all here for.

Stamp my hand, I'm now a member!

Welcome to the club, lol. Even though you pb'd, that does not necessarily mean that you aren't ready for a fill. Maybe you just ate too fast or took to big of a bite?

How long until the dreaded PB

Normally, if you are going to pb, it happens while you are eating the food. And, you will know immediately that it is happening. If you are already done eating and not feeling any pain or pressure, then you should be fine.

Got a nasty pm from Carolcocoa

I got a pm from her too. It wasn't nasty though, just asking if I had scars and did I use some type of cream.

    Pain after Fill

I agree with the others, it is normal to be a bit tender after getting a fill.

    Mama Mac from Michigan

Hi MamaMac and welcome to LBT! I so know what you are talking about with those dadburn shakes. I got to the point where I would rather starve than drink one more. I remember the first "mushy" food I had was scrambled eggs that my dh made me. You would have thought I was eating the finest steak in the finest restaurant by all the moans and sounds of delight I made while eating them! By the way, just wondering where abouts in Michigan you are from. I was born in Grand Rapids, lived in Sparta and Wyoming (Michigan) and moved to Florida when I was 14. I still have tons of relatives up there though.

    Howdy from the TexasBandito

Hi Joe and welcome to LBT! Wow, you are doing awesome and I bet you do feel fantastic. Isn't it great having all that newfound energy to play with the kids and spend time with the family? Glad you found us!
  23. Hi and welcome back! I was not banded in Mexico, but thought I would poke my head in and give you a shout "hello" anyways. I was self-pay, we refinanced the house to pay for my surgery. I will never regret it either.

    Hi from Minnesota

Hi and welcome to LBT! It sounds like your surgery went very well and you are doing well. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT let what you read on the complications forums scare you. Remember, most people tend to post when they are having a problem. When things are going great, we tend to not hear from them as much (unless they are a computer geek/internet freak like me) because they are off living life and enjoy their new found health that the band has brought them. In my personal opinion, and from what I have read and researched, those who post in the complications forum are a teeny tiny minority compared to those who are living with and loving their band. Additionally, if you read through many of the posts in the complications forum, many of those people would not trade their band for anything and/or would do it again. I hope you hear from others on here who will reinforce my opinion and help ease your worries. And remember, there were probably far greater risks to your health by not getting your band than getting it. Please do not be afraid to ask for advice and support, that is what we are all here for. I am glad you found us.

Post Op Exercise - how soon?

I would suggest asking your doctor and going by whatever he/she says. Mine had me wait 6 weeks before starting any type of exercise program, other than low impact walking.
