    April 2006 Bandits December Challenge

Hi Everyone, Julie, congrats on seeing that scale move! :clap2: I am pumped and ready to go for this month. My initial goal was to have less than 100 pounds to lose, which I hit last Sunday. Now I am trying to decide what goal number 2 will be. I am thinking onderland will be it. That will really give me something to push for. I probably won't get in any exercise tonight. My daughter is in chorus and they are having their Christmas concert tonight. She has her first ever solo, I am so excited. We have my parents in town, so I am sure we will be going out to dinner afterwards. Have a great day all!

    Any Regrets

As to the original posters question, I have absolutely no regrets. This has been the best thing that has ever happened to me and I feel better than I have felt in years. Do I pb, yes, sometimes. Do I get the golfball feeling, yes, sometimes. But it is always my fault for not paying attention and following the bandster rules. I am aware there are possible complications with this surgery. I have had one already, when my port flipped. If I encounter additional ones down the road, I will deal with them then. I am not going to spend every day of my life wondering if I have stretched my pouch, has my band slipped, etc., etc. You can drive yourself crazy doing that. Just live your life and what happens will happen. There are possible complications with all WLS, you just have to decide which one is best for you.

    April 2006 Bandits November Challenge

Hi Everyone! Bluehill, Kat, Julie, way to go on completing the challenge! You guys are doing great. Julie, France sounds wonderful. I am so jealous, the only time I have ever left the country was to go to Canada on a train ride for a few hours through the mountains. The fact that you didn't gain while in France is a huge victory. I hear the food there is just wonderful. I think many of us may be finding ourselves in a bit of a slump with our food right now due to the holidays. I am finding myself craving all sorts of things. I have decided that I am going to enjoy the holidays and the treats that go along with it. But, I will listen to my band and stop eating when it tells me too. As long as I don't gain, I will be happy and not be upset if I don't lose. Bluehill, I am so sorry about how you are feeling and that I missed your post as well. Please, if there is anything I can do, please, please let me know. April 2006 Bandits November Challenge

Hi Everyone, I haven't posted in days, but I have been exercising. And, I am so excited because with today's weigh in, I officially have less than 100 pounds to lose. I am really excited about that. Especially with Thanksgiving and all the yummy foods, but I still managed to lose a pound this week. I love my band and how it helped me stay in control this week. Boo and Eficka, I am sorry you both are battling illness, I hope you both get to feeling better real soon. 5 things that get you through a craving

I agree with Wheetsin and Gonnabethin. If I crave something, I have it. I promised myself when I got the band I would never be on a diet again and I would never feel deprived again. Usually, just a few bites satisfies the craving and I am happy. If I didn't satisfy the craving, it would probably grow until I absolutely binged on it and felt miserable.

    My first NSV!!!

    That is fabulous! Congratulations!! :clap2:
  11. Well, have you tried diets before only to end up eventually gaining the weight back again? Old habits are easy to fall back into. Why would that be any different with the band? The band is for life. Once you reach goal, it will help you to stay at goal.
  12. Personally, I have done WW before with great success. In fact, I would say I had great success on it at least seven different times in my life. I also had success with many other diets as well. The problem is, something would always happen which resulted in my going off the diet, gaining all the weight back that I had lost and usually gaining extra weight as well. The great thing about my band is I do not diet. I make an effort to make healthier choices. But, I don't count calories, points, carbs or anything else. My band will allow me to make bad choices and junk. But, it will not allow me to eat very much of those bad choices. It is recommended that we lose 1-2 pounds per week with the band, and that is exactly what I am doing and I am very pleased with my results thus far. As far as asking if the band is for life, for me the answer is a huge YES! Once I get to goal, why would I want to have it removed? If I did, chances are I would balloon right back up again. I don't want to do that. My band is my friend and I intend to keep it forever so it will keep me on track and healthy forever.

    April 2006 Bandits November Challenge

Good Morning Everyone, I feel the need to whine a bit. I was so looking forward to getting on the scale today. I am still doing the treadmill 40 minutes at a time, but I had kicked up my ifit workout level from a 1 to a level 2 and it has been pretty intense for me. I was also so good this week about staying away from junk, getting my Water in every day and I just had a fill about 2 weeks ago and am back at my sweet spot. So, I just knew I was going to see a big loss this week and was so excited to head to the scale this morning. And then, disappointment hits. I only lost .60 pounds! Grrrr, that really upset me. I have had much better weeks when I have been lazy and ate junk. Thanks for letting me whine.

I love breakfast, but since reaching proper restriction, I can only do liquids until lunchtime. So, it is a protein shake for me. And I do not get hungry until lunchtime.

    Head Hunger

I am punished with a PB if I eat too much. The head hunger is sometimes bothersome, but most of the time I am able to handle it. However, sometimes I annoy myself because I have actually gotten mad because something tastes so darn good and I just want to eat a little more of it, but I just can't. Hmmm, no wonder I am fat.

Wow, Betty, sounds like you are going to be very busy. I hope you have a wonderful trip. I know what you mean about the evenings. I do great all day long. I have my protein shake for breakfast, a frozen dinner for lunch and then supper. But for some reason, I get the cravings around 8:00 at night. It is either for cheetoes or peanut butter tracks ice cream. The weird thing is, I never ate cheetoes or any kind of ice cream before being banded. I have forced myself to stay away from the cheetoes because once I start, I want to keep going. But I do allow myself a bowl of ice cream a couple of nights a week. Not a huge one, just enough to satisfy my craving. I am whooped tonight. I think this was the hardest IFIT workout on my treadmill yet. I actually had sweat pouring off me by the time I was done.
