Hi and welcome to LBT! First off, 21 pounds in 18 weeks is right on track. Remember, the band is not like gastric bypass. It is designed for us to lose an average of 1-2 pounds per week. That is a healthy weightloss. As for eating ice cream, your right, that is definitely not going to help the weight come off because it goes right through the band. Getting more fill really isn't going to help with that. Are you attending any local support groups? I found that really helps to be able to talk with others and find out how they deal with issues such as head hunger. And of course, you have done something wonderful for yourself by joining LBT as well. You will find lots of people here having the same struggles you are having and offering help and support. Another thing you may want to try is fitday.com, sparkpeople.com or the dailyplate.com. All of them are free sites for monitoring your daily calorie intake and may help you to get a better hold on what you are eating. Good luck to you, we look forward to getting to know you better.

Hi and welcome to LBT! Wow, a friend of mine also once broke her jaw and had it wired for several months. She said it was miserable. If you can handle that, you should breeze through the liquid diet without any problems! Let us know when you get your surgery date and if you have any questions, just ask. -

Say No To Carbs 2 Day Challenge...come Join Me
*susan* replied to renewedhope's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey guys, I saw this posted on another thread and actually just started doing this myself this morning as well. My hubby was laughing at my self-imposed liquid diet when normally all I do is complain when I have to go on liquids after a fill. But, I had been craving carbs big time lately, and giving in to those cravings so I decided I had to try this. -
I'm having port revision on 3/12!
*susan* replied to LAEXGORDITA's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had my port flip about 4 months after I got banded. It was not a big deal, I was in and out of the surgery center within a few hours and back to work the next day. -
Mistee, Good look girl! Let us know how you are feeling as soon as you are up to it!

Are their little shells digestable?

Delicious slow cooker recipe....and only three ingredients...
*susan* replied to blahblahblah's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Honestly, I think it would also be awesome with chicken. Teriyaki chicken is one of my favorite foods. -
That looks fun, and like a good way for me and my clumsy butt to break or severely injure some part of my anatomy!
-
Productive burp, when you have food get stuck and it eventually comes back up.
-
Hi and welcome to both of you! You have come to a great place for advice, information and support. I think it is wonderful that the two of you are considering having this done together. As far as down time after the surgery, while you are still a little tender around the port area, I think most people are able to return to work a week after surgery. Some go back sooner. The lapband is a great weightloss tool, but it is just that, a tool. If you don't do your part then yes, it is possible to not lose or even gain weight with the band. You will need to make healthy food choices, and exercise is an important part of any weightloss program. It is important to keep up with your fills as well. But, if you are willing to commit to the band and the bandster rules, then the lapband is definitely the road to follow to better health.

I agree, when he did his rendition of "Daydreams" it was amazing!
