    slave for sale

Hello and welcome to LBT. We are so glad you have decided to join us. As previously mentioned, many of us did see your post on Ebay. I am assuming your insurance will not cover your surgery? Have you looked into other types of creative funding? How about posting a bit more about yourself and your situation, and we will all put our heads together and see what we can do to help you.

ab lounge, any one have one?

I second that. I joined a gym last week and was working out on a piece of equipment designed specifically for abs. I commented to the personal trainer that I felt like I was getting more out of it than I ever did my ab lounger that I have at home. His comment was, "if a piece of exercise equipment has the word lounger in it, how effective can it be?" I think I have to agree with him.

    Steady Weight

You may just be on a plateau, we all hit them from time to time. Have you been taking your measurements? While you may not be losing pounds, you may very well be losing inches.

    Sweating?

Honestly, Kristi, I never had that problem. But I thought I would bump your post to hopefully see if anyone else can answer this for you.

Hi, sorry, but I am a bit confused. Is TLBC a bariatric surgery center? Thanks.

    amuzement parks

Hi Chilly, I moved your post out of introductions and into this forum, I hope you don't mind. I am not really sure about amusement parks. You will be a little over two weeks out, I was still pretty sore then. Personally, I would not have gone near an amusement park at that time. But, everyone heals differently. The best advice I can give is to talk to your surgeon and find out how he/she feels about it.
  7. Hi Katsen, congrats on getting your date, that is awesome! It won't be long now until you are an official bandster. Let us know how things are going for you.
  8. Hi Lynne, I am so sorry you haven't recceived any responses. I am from Jacksonville, so I am unable to answer your question. I see that you were scheduled to be banded yesterday. How did everything go?

    Gainesville Anyone?

Hi and welcome. I am sure there must be someone from Gainesville here. I am from Jacksonville, myself. Getting on real food again is wonderful. How are you doing thus far with your band?

    Early slippage

I have had a "minor slip" a couple of times. Both times, I was able to have a complete unfill and do liquids only for several days and that fixed it. At 9 days, I was still on liquids. What stage are you presently at? Most likely, you just took too large a bite or did not chew it enough. However, the best advice I can always give is, when in doubt, call your doctor.

    New Lab Band doctor?

My doctor is a very experienced surgeon. He had been doing surgery for years. However, I was only his third lapband. I had no doubt in his ability to perform the surgery based on his experience, education, and statistics for other surgeries.

All you people do is complain...

I have two babies, Max and Winston. Actually, Winston is our daughter's baby. He is a seven year old long-haired doxy. He is sweet, but the dumbest dog I have ever owned! She gets mad at me because my nickname for him is "Dopey Dog". Max is mine and dh's baby. He is a five year old chocolate lab. I love him to death!! He is honestly, the best dog I have ever had. I also love, love, love german shepherds and am currently on a quest to convince my hubby that we need one more dog.

    Should I be a candidate?

Hi Bob, and welcome to LBT. I think, with your co-morbities (sp?) you will qualify for the band. You also sound like you would be successful as you already are in the habit of exercising, which, I feel, is essential to band success. Question, is your wife, or has she ever been overweight? I don't think people realize just how difficult it is to diet. Sure, I think just about everyone on here has lost a lot of weight at one time or another. The problem is, we all seem to gain it back. Dieting is so tough. Just like quiting smoking is tough on smokers and quitting drinking is hard for alcoholics. The band is a wonderful tool to help us reach our goals and stay there. Have you taken your wife to a seminar on the band, or to a band support group? That may help. Or, have her check out this website to see how much all of us have struggled before finally deciding to change our lives for the better once and for all with the band. Best of luck to you. Keep us posted on your next steps and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
