5 days post op and Introduction....
*susan* replied to Kimburlee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Kim and welcome to LBT. I would love to hear more about your experience. You said you had a five year old band replaced, did it slip or what happened? Have you had good success with your band? -
surgery yesterday - Feel Horrible today
*susan* replied to BSWhip08's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not sure, as you really didn't give too much of a description. However, normally one tends to feel worse the day after surgery as opposed to the day of. The effects of the anesthia are starting to wear off, etc. Give yourself a couple of days and you should start feeling better. Take Gas-X and walk, as that seems to help with gas pain. -
I missed it last night. The radio was mentioning something about Paula too, what did she do now? I have it tivo'd and will watch it tonight, but can't wait!!

That one is hysterical, my dh and I used to crack up every time we saw it.

Gadget and BJean, this thread seems to be turning into a personal fighting ground for the two of you. It was kindly suggested a few pages back that the personal attacks need to stop. Please, take that suggestion or I will lock this thread. We attack ideas, not people. -
Hi Barbara, and welcome to LBT. It sounds like you are doing wonderful so far. Check out our food forum for some great recipes.

Diane, that must have been shocking and very upsetting news. I am impressed by your strength and how well you seem to be handling this. My thoughts are with you, keep us posted on how things go.

Hi Melanie, wow, I can understand why your back was hurting! Why did they leave you on a gurney for so long? That had to have been miserable.

Moved out of introductions and into insurance and financing forum, Hopefully you will get a better response here.

I'm not posting just to post. I am posting to say that we joined a gym last week and I think after working out for 1 1/2 hours tonight I am ready to pass out. This getting healthy stuff hurts! And on that note.... Goodnight everyone!

I am here too!! Lois, I don't have any problems taking my meds, as long as I take them with plenty of Water and not early in the morning when I am at my tightest. But, if you do find you have a problem, many of the prescriptions are available in liquid form.

These are cool, I added one to my myspace page.

Whoa! Eating out was a problem! Yikes! Ideas for me?
*susan* replied to sadie11's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Most of the time, I close the door to my office and sit at my desk to eat lunch. However, on payday, I usually go to lunch with the girls. That is when I tend to have problems. I feel like I am rushed and if eat too slow, then I think they are wondering why. I just need to learn to get over that, I guess. -
As long as it is crab and dripping in melted butter, I love it. I know, I know, the melted butter is bad for me. I could never handle the kind of weather you are talking about Pix. We moved to Atlanta for a year and came back to Florida because we couldn't stand the cold there. I guess I am just a wimp.

Which celebrity do YOU think needs the Lap Band?
*susan* replied to **pink**'s topic in Rants & Raves
Georgia, I did the same thing a couple of years ago. My brother was getting married, and as it was both their second marriage, they decided to do it with just the immediate family on the beach in Destin. We all went up and rented a huge house about a week before hand. The day before the wedding I went down to lay out on the beach. About three hours later my hubby wakes me up. I had fallen asleep!! I have never experienced such pain in my life. Just like you, my legs swelled up huge and I could hardly walk. When I did, it felt like someone was jabbing knives into my legs. Man, did I learn my lesson! -
It worked!

I could definitely not handle the ice and cold. I live in Florida and when it gets below 70, I am freezing.

Nah, we are not going to close this thread. You can talk about the suits here, or start a new one. I am looking at getting one of those miraclesuits. -
I would spend my entire time with my head over the side due to severe sea sickness.

Thanks, I am a bit of a myspace geek, it is another great place for connecting with fellow bandsters. Plus, I can keep an eye on my kids!
-
Congrats on getting a date, it won't be long now! Does your doc have you on any type of pre-op diet?

*susan* replied to TulipStar's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am amazed that he can eat all that in the morning! I am lucky to get anything other than my protein shake down before 11:00 a.m.
