Brand new here & need help

Hi Ann, and welcome to LBT! We are glad to have you join us. First off, you are not alone. There are many of us here who have not lost as quickly as we had hoped. I was banded two years ago and lost nothing, in fact gained a bit, over a year's period and have just now gotten back to my sweet spot and am losing again. So, what I am saying is, don't get too upset, it may not be working as you had hoped right now, but it still can work for you. Is the reason you have started gaining due to the need for a fill? Or, do you still feel restriction? Sometimes, just a minor tweak in fill can make a huge difference and help get you back on track. Another thing that has helped me that I swore I would not do is to start tracking everything I put in my mouth. There are things I was eating that I thought was healthy, such as a wrap from Jason's deli, that I have now learned has close to 500 calories. Do you track your calories? If not, you may want to do so in order to help you get a better idea of what exactly you are eating, and the nutritional value of it. I am using www.thedailyplate.com and love it. A couple of other good sites are www.sparkpeople.com and www.fitday.com . Also, try posting in the your state's local forum here on LBT. Perhaps you will find some other bandsters that are from your area that you can meet up with to get some support.

    Lobster question

Lobster and snowcrab legs have always gone down just fine for me. As long as you have progressed to full foods, everything is going down well for you, and you remember the bandster rules you should be fine.
  5. Yep, another one here, I had mine when I had my surgery and there was no problem with it at all.

    Soda soda soda

Honestly, I used to be a major diet coke addict as well. I drank it for breakfast, lunch, dinner and non-stop in between. I thought I would die when my doctor said I would have to give it up for the band. I used to crave it so bad. Then, one day I had a small sip of my hubby's and was shocked. I didn't like the taste, texture or anything anymore. Now I don't miss it at all.

    What to wear

I wore big, comfy, baggy sweatpants and t-shirts. I also wore a sports bra, because many people here recommended that to me before I had my surgery and I was so glad that they did. There was no way I would have been able to wear an underwire with my port incisions.

Do you keep a food journal?

I have also found that I have had to up my calories a bit on the days I exercise, otherwise the scale does not move.

Help, need food ideas for 1st 2 stages

I am confused, has he not specifically told you what type of diet you should follow post-op? He may not necessarily provide a food list, but he should tell you liquids for so long, then mushies, etc. As far as ideas for the different stages, there a tons of ideas here: Cooking, Baking and recipes - Lap Band Talk Forum - The largest forum for Lap Band Surgery Discussion and Lap Band Surgery Support

    easy formula for dropping pounds

I was just reading something similiar to that on dailyplate. I have found now that I have joined a gym, I do actually need to eat more in order to keep the scale moving down.

    apologizing

Don't apologize, the waiting and jumping through hoops part is probably the toughest part of banding. We all get frustrated at times and are here to help each other through the good and the bad.

    American Idol '08

So, Jason is gone. America got it right this time. He acted like he was actually excited to be leaving, or at least that was the impression I got. So, they do 3 songs next week. Is this where they get to pick one, the judges pick one for them and I can't remember what they do with the third one?

    American Idol '08

Jason is so gone, I honestly feel he should have been gone a few weeks ago. But, I think when he forgot the words that pretty much sealed the deal. Syesha is improving so much, I really, really enjoyed her this week. David A. has a beautiful voice, I think there is no arguing that. But, I am just so tired of hearing him sing slow songs. I would love to see him actually sing something with a beat and see if he could actually entertain us! At this point, I still think David C. is the best of the group.

    LapBandTalk CHAT

Dove, when you log into chat, the first room it takes you to is the lobby. Everyone pretty much tends to gather there and chat, as opposed to logging into any other rooms. It is always very busy there in the evenings. Let me know if this does or does not help and we will see what we can do for you.

I know Alex is in the process of doing quite a bit of "tweaking" to LBT. He is trying to make it the best he can for all of us.
