When you have restriction then you get full?
*susan* replied to LundyLane's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Since having my band, I rarely feel hungry anymore. When I do, it is usually a sign that it is time for me to get another fill. The band restricts my food intake, makes me feel full sooner, and keeps me feeling full longer. -
Fist Fill and Not feeling different!!!
*susan* replied to JerseyGirl2u's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Like the others said, if you get good restriction after only one fill, you are probably pretty lucky. It usually takes a couple of fills to reach your sweet spot. It is better to go slow with them than to be aggressive and risk being overfilled. -

I just have to post that Publix is evil, EVIL I SAY. Why did they have to put one pound bags of M&M's on sale for buy one get one free? OK, I admit it, I am the bad one. No one forced me to buy those darn things. And, they just keep calling my name. I have been good about going to the gym this week, thank goodness, maybe I will break even on the scale.

Do you have fungus toes??

Wow, WasA, I have to agree that that was a very inspiring post. Thank you for sharing that with us. BrandyII, as the thread starter, if you would prefer that this thread be moved to complications or another forum instead of Rants and Raves, send me a pm and I will be happy to move it for you.

Ready to Get on the Loser's Bench
*susan* replied to nanajan's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Jan, and welcome to LBT! Our hubby's can definitely be protective creatures. My dh was dead set against gbp when I mentioned it. Then, I discovered this site and learned about the band. He agreed to go to a seminar with me, asked a lot of questions, paid careful attention to everything that was said and by the time we left, he was in support of my having it done. They just love us and don't want anything bad to happen to us. I am glad yours is coming around, because that support is important. -
If you are able to eat a lot, and find yourself getting hungry between meals, then yes, you probably need another fill. There isn't really a set time table for getting them, it is very much an individual thing.

Debbie, it sounds like things are starting to move along. Please keep us updated on how things are progressing.

Oh my gosh, I have never heard of that happening before! Nor was I ever told I couldn't eat popcorn. I just posted in another thread stating I eat it all the time without any problems. Now, you have me second guessing myself.

I had to add in my .02 here. I love Breyer's Peanut Butter tracks ice cream. And do you know what I do when I crave it? I have some! I did not get the band to deny myself certain foods for the rest of my life. I got it to help me eat like a normal person, and normal people eat ice cream. Everything in moderation. Personally, I feel like denying oneself something is going to end up causing a binge later.

I will have to stop by Walgreens tonight and see if they carry them.

I have popcorn a lot, especially now that they have those 100 calorie snack bags of popcorn. As long as I chew well, I have never had a problem getting it down.

When I was discharged, my doctor said no driving for three days.
