    Fluffy ... wtf FLUFFY??

My ex-husband once bought me a pair of pajamas that read "I'm not fat, I'm fluffy". Another reason in a list of many why he is my ex-husband.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

    My broccoli is stuck.
  4. My port flipped 4 months after I had my band placed. I had no knowledge it had flipped at all, no discomfort, no pulling, nothing. It was discovered when I went to get a fill and my doctor was unable to access my port. He did a flouro, and sure enough, it had flipped. The surgery was a very simple procedure and I was back to work the next day.
  5. Which is exactly why one should listen to what their doctor tells them, not anyone else.

Come out of the band failure closet!

Denise, stop teasing us already. That is twice you have mentioned being busy falling in love. You are going to have to give us details soon!!!

No, but I was driving down 95 on Saturday and saw a car pulled over on the side of the road. Two guys were standing their peeing in clear view of everyone! I mean, they didn't attempt to go down and hide in the bushes or anything. What really killed me was that there was a rest area that they just passed less than two miles back.

    New to Site

Hi Beth, and welcome. Keeping a food journal definitely helped. I resisted it for almost a year and a half. But, I finally started tracking and was amazed at some of things I thought were healthy and low calorie and really weren't. Keep us posted on how things are going and let us know if you have any questions.

Seriously, Denise, you can't drop a bomb about not having enough time for LBT because you are in the middle of falling in love and leave it at that! But, I am happy for you. There is nothing more exciting than new love!

Hmmm, I am trying to figure out why I would need to chew with Trident after I pee???
  12. Yes, there is a definite problem. I have sent a message to Alex about it.

    Tacos, Tortillas, Chips ....

When you are in a forum and want to start a new thread, on the upper left of the page, right under the forum name, you will see "new thread". Click on that to start a new thread/post. Probably what you are feeling is your port. Most people can feel it when laying on their stomach or side, it is not unusual. It is a little weird at first, but you will get used to it.

    Banded 11jun08

Hi and welcome to LBT! It sounds like things are going well for you thus far. The part that is usually the most tender is the port area. For some reason, placing a heating pad over it and my belly was very soothing during the recovery period. You are doing good with the diet, and I am proud of your determination to stay with it. It is so important to follow your doctor's post-op diet instructions so your band has time to heal and adhere to your tummy. Best of luck to you. We are glad to have you here with us and look forward to getting to know you.

    Trouble eating while seated,,,,

I used to have that problem. I had just a teeny bit of fill taken out and it corrected it.

Ugh, I can't take it anymore, the way the pages are loading is driving me insane!!!! I did send Alex a message, lets hope he gets it fixed. In the mean time, I am off to bed. I had Japanese for dinner, first time in a long time and it is sooooo not agreeing with me. You would think I was a DS'er or something! Sorry, too much information.

Froggi, thank goodness, I thought I was flipping out. LBT is completely freaking out. I am going to contact Alex and let him know.

    Question

I agree, I would request a flouro as well. Or, at the very least an unfill. That way, if you do have food stuck, the unfill should help it pass. Then, you should probably do liquids for a few days and ease yourself back up to restriction after that.

    A better chewable vitamin?

Like Hastings said, there is no steadfast rule that you have to take chewable or liquid vitamins. I think most of us find that the pills are just extremely large and they are difficult for us to get down with our bands. I didn't mind the Flintstones too much. But I have switched to the viactiv chewables. It leaves a slight aftertaste, but nothing unbearable.

    The feel of the band

My port is also under my right breast. Most of the time, I have no awareness of it at all. However, like others, when I sleep on my tummy or at just the right angle on my side, I can feel it, and sometimes have to adjust my position so it is more comfortable. My kids and hubby think it is cool that they can actually feel my port.

    I HATE those "kind-of" hiccups!

When I hiccup, that is my stop sign. If I eat one or two more bites, I am in trouble. Unfortunately, mine are quite loud and obnoxious, really embarrassing when eating out in public.
