Froggi, I love everyone. Well, with the exception of one person who I hope gets a good dose of reality someday and I am there to see it. How dare someone indicate my husband is lazy and all that other bs. Perhaps he was just home taking care of me, our kids, our elderly parents. Don't chastise me till you have walked a mile in my shoes. And, that is all I am going to say about that or I may blow my moderator hat.
-
Denise, you are so right. It just makes me want to smack someone.

There are so many things I want to say between chat and another thread tonight, but alas, I must behave myself.
-
At this point, I am going to step away from this thread. As a moderator, I have to be careful about how I respond to people and I no longer find myself able to be objective and able to attack the idea and not the person.
-
Oh no, she is in chat and I can't not believe some of the stuff she is suggesting.

Before you have surgery- read this-warning
*susan* replied to VegasGrace's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am moving this out of introductions, as it is not an introduction. -
OMG, are you kidding me??!! I just read her warning post. Thank goodness I didn't read it prior to getting banded or I never would have had it done. I got the band to get healthy, not be sick all the time, fatigued, etc. I mean seriously, how many people have had those problems? Since getting the band I have experienced the exact opposite of what she is warning people to expect because I am eating healthier and exercising. Ok, rant done.

As others said, when you are properly restricted and eating healthy foods, you can lose weight. I have never experienced fatigue or any other "hell" as mentioned. I am able to eat small, healthy, well balanced meals. As a result, between that and exercise, I have never felt better in my life. -
Is my experience normal and what should I do?
*susan* replied to Linda Hamsing Rosen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Please, if you are pb'ing, vomiting, regurgitating or whatever terminology you choose to refer to it as on a daily basis, that is not normal nor fine. You are either not following the bandster eating rules, which is to take very small bites, chew your food to mush and wait a bit between bites, or you are too tight. To do this daily, or several times daily is dangerous and can result in slipping your band. I know from experience as I had this problem and my band slipped and it was a hard lesson learned. If your find yourself having excessive pb's, you need to re-examine your eating habits or contact your doctor and have a slight unfill. Juliegraci offered some good advice as well. -
Yeah, that is just insane, and she is telling newbies that it is ok? That is just scary.
-
Umm, can someone please explain this to me, cause I don't understand: "Regurgitating...that's fine. That's a tool you'll use on your journey in re-learning how to eat. I do it often and sometimes daily...and I'm on maintenance." How is that fine? To me that is either too tight or Anorexia/Bulimia?

Ex-wives are dangerous too. Two years ago I decided to do run our credit report because I became concerned about all the identity theft going on and thought I should begin monitoring our credit report. Turns out hubby's ex, whom he has been divorced from since 1991, has somehow been taking credit out in his name. Of course, she would get the credit, and never paid any of the bills and it negatively effected our credit rating. We ended up in court with her over that, and won.

Oh, just as a final follow up, the mess with my loan has been straightened out. They admitted that the person who was handling my account prepared all the paperwork, then went on vacation and left the paperwork sitting on her desk. So, they extended the deadline. I sent all the required paperwork yesterday via FedEx and the loan modification was approved and we get to keep our home. For those of you who were so kind and offered me advice, support and well wishes, thank you so much for everything. It was really appreciated and I will not forget it.
-
SickNTired, thank you for your concern. I understand that you are definitely just looking out for your fellow LBT'ers. In this day and age, with identity theft running rampant, it is definitely advised that we all be careful about who, when and how we disclose our personal and sensitive financial information to.

My deepest apologies. Your right, when I and my husband combined were making well over $150,000 a year, we took out a 30 year fixed rate mortgage and a payment that was well within our abilities to pay. We had enough savings to cover three and possibly four months in the event of an emergency. But, apparently it was my fault that I was laid off from my job. That was a consequence of my taking that job. And, I should have known based on my age, weight and family history that I was going to become ill and have to take extended time off from work without pay. Oh, and my husband most certainly is at fault for the economy taking a bad turn and his commissions falling off. That was his consequence for accepting a good job to feed his family, put a roof over their heads and clothes on their back. Dammit, what were we thinking. I accept full responsibilty for the economy, my health, rising gas prices, world hunger and everything else. Yep, hold me accountable for all of that.

Ahhh, Mrs. FlipFlops, it must be nice to still be that young and naive. There actually are things that happen in life that we could not have known about in advance and have no control over.

Hi guys, this thread has gone a bit beyond introductions, so I am going to move it to the Florida forum.

Wow, this is a really old thread resurrection.

I just had a really good workout at the gym and now I am exhausted.

Cota, I am so sorry to hear that you are going through this as well. My heart goes out to both of you. -
Posting to say I am depressed because I had such a great week off last week just spending time with my kids and now I am back at work. But, it did reaffirm my belief that I have two amazing kids and how lucky I am.

I am so sorry this has happened to you. I know how devastating it is to learn that two people whom you trust more than anyone have hurt you in the worst possible way. My first marriage ended after I learned my then husband and best friend were having an affair behind my back. Like MacMadame said, regardless of what you look like, there are wonderful men out there who will love you for you. My current husband fell in love with me when I weighed 250 pounds. I am not sure if you have already found this site or not, but if not, please check it out. It is called surviving infidelity and offers some great support and advice. The link is SurvivingInfidelity.com - Support for those affected by Infidelity= My thoughts are with you. -
BBK, that is so awesome!! I can't wait till I get where you are.

Mine was the same, my incisions had to be completely healed as well. I believe it was about 3 weeks.
