Hi Edward, and welcome to LBT. I am from Jacksonville, but used to live in Fruitland Park which is pretty close to Ocala. Anyways, congrats on getting your band. We look forward to getting to know you! -
Tea goes down fine-cold water doesn't
*susan* replied to John Does's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ever since I have had my band, I have not been able to drink cold beverages. Everything has to be room temperature or it does not go down well for me. I have found this to be true for me regardless of what level of restriction I am it. Of course, it varies for everyone. Our bands are fickle creatures. -
how do you get the main page
*susan* replied to hoosierpoms's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
You can't customize the landing page. However, all you have to do is click on the forums button and that will take you to the page you are used to seeing. You can even bookmark that page if you don't like the landing page. Hope this helps. -

Hi and welcome to LBT. Hope you don't mind, I moved your thread to introductions.

I have mine in my link, and yes, it is set to private. But, I have many LBT friends who have a myspace and when they ask to be a friend, they always indicate they are from LBT and I accept them. Mine is mostly set to private to keep my husbands ex-wife away, lol.

BBK, sorry to hear you are having a difficult time. I hope things get better for you.

Bad bander, but curious question!! ha ha
*susan* replied to Ebeth0013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Susie, I don't think it is fair to say that the veterans are "going after" a newbie. That is not the case at all. She came on here and publicly posted what she had done. Many of us veterans are concerned about the amount of threads we are now seeing pop up here with the same basic theme. These people are looking for validation to cheat. And, they are getting it. Unfortunately, they are getting it from other newbies who are a month or so out and saying, "I did it, it didn't hurt me". Well, how do they know that? Do they have a crystal ball that they can see in to the future with? I doubt it. They think because they didn't have any immediate problems, there won't be any long term. I hope they are right, but they may be wrong. We are simply trying are darnedest to stress to everyone the importance of following their doctor's orders. We are trying to get them to understand why the post-op diet is so important. Some of these "veterans" that you a bit sarcastically referred to as doctor wannabes are actually nurses, so they do understand the importance of following doctors orders. I am not a nurse or in the medical field, but I know it is just common sense to follow my doctor's orders. The bottom line is, if you are having trouble following your diet and feel you need to eat something more substantial, then call your doctor. Don't come here looking for validation. We don't know you or your medical history. Your doctor does and you paid him/her a lot of money to take care of you. Let them do what they do best. -
I agree, not the hormones at all!

I checked those sites out as well. I just really liked the grocery game and its format, it seems much easier to read. And, with the savings I had, the $20.00 every 8 weeks doesn't seem like anything. I went to Walgreen's, original price at checkout was $67.00, going by my list recommendations, I only spent $32.00 out of pocket. Then I went to CVS, original price was $85.00, out of pocket after coupons, discounts, etc., $37.00. Publix, original $127.00, out of pocket, $43.00. Totally worth it to me! I am actually excited about going shopping next week. Once I get my stockpile built, I really do believe I will cut my now $350.00 biweekly food bill down to about $40.00 A week.

Hi, we don't have a tutorial available. However, if you go to our frequently asked questions forum at: Frequently Asked Questions (NEW!) - Lap Band Surgery and Lap Band Discussion Forum and scroll toward the bottom, you will see several sub-forums that provide great information on how to navigate around and use LBT. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to pm me and I will be happy to help you out.

I have had enough of the Pierson twins, but you have to live in Northeast Florida to understand why.
