Absolutely, but it has to be reported, or a message sent to Alex or myself with a screen shot of what you find offensive. Sent from my iPad using VST

Ranting is permitted. Ranting about members of the forum, named or not, is against our rules. There is even a sticky at the top of this forum that states that. It is discouraging to new members and makes them feel unwelcomed, which is not our intent. If you see a question you think has been asked a million times, then scroll on by it. If you see something you think is silly or stupid, just scroll on by it, It is that simple. But, do not create a thread for the sole purpose of complaining about such things as the thread will be closed. If you have a problem with the way we moderate the forums, feel free to address it privately with myself or Alex.

Thread is being closed... Reason, well, Laura-Ven already posted our rules. In addition, at the very top of this forum is a sticky warning members to not create threads solely for the purpose of ranting about our members. If woman are posting in the Men's Room, and it is reported, I do address it. I can't be everywhere at once, which is why we count on our members to notify us of these issues.

Sorry guys, I know you are having fun making fun of members, but per our forum rules I am locking this thread: 5. Members will treat each other with courtesy and respect, especially when they disagree. We understand that bright, intelligent and educated people may not always agree, but personal attacks in the form of insults, abusive language or other means of obvious harassment will not be tolerated. Do not attack, mock, or otherwise insult others. You can respectfully disagree with the message or topic, but you cannot attack the messenger. This includes attacks against the user’s spelling or command of written English, or belittling a user for posting a duplicate topic. If you are attacked by another user, and you reciprocate, you will also be subject to the same consequences. Defending yourself or a friend is not an excuse! Do not take matters into your own hands – instead, use the Report Post link to report an attack and we will be happy to handle the situation for you.

My Dr Illan experience!

How to convince my dad that surgery in Mexico is not a scam?
*susan* replied to supbanana's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I actually have four patients getting sleeved with Dr. Illan during that time frame. I will ask them to check this thread out and pm you, as two of them are going alone and probably love to get a buddy for support while there. Sent from my iPad using VST -
Anyone hear about a Mexico Bariatric Center patient passing away this weekend?
*susan* replied to Michele in NY's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Okay, this thread has run its course. I am locking it. Nobody is interested in hearing any more of the name calling, accusations or anything else. That is not what we are here for. Feel free to take your ridiculous arguments to pm. And, just one additional word of warning, don't even think about starting another thread just so you can continue the arguing. Anyone who does so will be banned. -

*susan* replied to Michele in NY's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Oh good grief, forgive me. Groups are started by members, they control who may or may not post in them, not Alex or myself. The Vets forum was also created for specific reasons, but really, is that what this thread is about, to nit pick every little thing? Enough already people. Sent from my iPad using VST -

Please think about our forum rules before posting. We do not attack other members, call them names, etc. You all are welcome to disagree and discuss opposing points of view so long as it is done in a respectful manner. Additionally, the only forums which are restricted are the men's forum is for men only and the powder room is for ladies only. Other than that, members are welcome and encouraged to offer their input and participate in any and all discussions on VST. Thank you. Sent from my iPad using VST -
I don't think two pills will make you sick. I have a habit of forgetting to take mine and my doctor tells me as long as it is within forty-eight hours of the missed one, to just take two. I have never been sick or had any problems. Of course, as with all non-medical advice, your mileage may vary. Sent from my iPad using VST

LIQUID DIET SUCKS!
*susan* replied to ladybug112000's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you find that you are really having a hard time, don't hesitate to contact your doctor or nutritionist, a lot of times they will suggest something else you can have (maybe even broth) that will help you feel more satisfied. Sent from my iPad using VST -
LIQUID DIET SUCKS!
*susan* replied to ladybug112000's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take the One A Day Vitacrave gummies and they are actually pretty good. As for the pre-op diet, it can be rough, but most people find after the third day things get much better. You just have to keep reminding yourself of the prize you will get in the end and how much you deserve this. Sent from my iPad using VST -
Nearing the end of my check list
*susan* replied to missybean's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Missy, I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. Now that they have officially acknowledged obesity as a disease, I think the approval process based on high BMI alone is going through much better now. Sent from my iPad using VST -
I left Mexicali and Dr Aceves without a sleeve...
*susan* replied to stephanie1678's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
People, really, enough already. We do not, have not and will not ever hide or delete posts about any doctors, good, bad or otherwise. As long as they are in compliance with forum rules and based upon the personal experience of the poster it stays. Do any of you have any idea of the lengths Alex has gone to over the years to protect members, find the truth about things, etc.? He has put his whole life into this and the needs of our members and the level of disrespect and questioning of his ethics truly disappointments me. Sent from my iPad using VST -
My head is spinning from all the different choices in doctors?
*susan* replied to atlchick's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
It can definitely be confusing, but you have done the right thing by joining forums such as this. Research the doctors, google them, find other patients who have recently had surgery with them and talk to them about their experiences, learn as much as you can. And, you know what, if your gut tells you a particular surgeon is not the right one for you, then trust that as well. Don't base your decision on any one positive or negative experience someone posts, it doesn't matter what doctor it is, they will have patients who have good and bad things to say. That is why it is so important to do your research and talk to as many of their patients as possible, so you can make a well-informed decision. -
Good luck to all of you having your surgery on Monday and the beginning of your new life! Let us know how you are doing as soon as you feel up to it.
