Hi Gigi, I had major problems with constipation for several months immediately following my surgery. Actually, the only thing that worked for me was the milk of magnesia. Hopefully, it will work well for you as well.
-
Luluc, that is awesome!! I admire anyone who can do that!
-
And yours is very small and difficult to read as well.
-
Mine is all messed up too.
-
So, is this better?
-
I am trying everything, that will teach me to mess with new features!!
-
I changed my font settings under options, and now it is too small. I went back and told it to go larger, but it won't!!!
-
I have now managed to completely mess mine up, lol!
-
Wow, that was really tiny! Posting just to see if this is any bigger.

HELP! When can I sleep 'normal' again?
*susan* replied to Marcie1997's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I slept in the recliner for the first three nights following my surgery. After that, I was able to sleep in my bed. However, it was a good two weeks before I was able to comfortably sleep on my side and at least two months before I was able to sleep on my tummy again. -
Yum, cobbler does sound good. What is it about fall and cobbler? They seem to go well together.

Kat, I thought this had all been worked out a couple of days ago and resolved as well. The OP and you had clearly worked things out and everyone had moved on. I remember all the original drama surrounding that person as well, and understand your concern, and as you are a moderator, was glad to see that you remembered that and made an effort to stop anything before it started. I think we can chalk this one up to a simple misunderstanding and let it rest now. If you ever do find a crystal ball, I would love to know where you got it, so I may purchase one as well. I could really use one of those!!

Should I be worried ? Anyone who has had a slip ?
*susan* replied to coltonwade's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My first slip was after I experienced being overfilled for the first time and really didn't know what was going on. I spent so much time bringing everything back up, that it caused the slip. The second time around, I believe was due to some really bad Chinese food that had me and my entire family vomiting rather violently. Add to that, I had just recently had a fill and was a tad too tight, which made for a bad combination. Keep us posted on what you find out. I feel for you because I know how miserable being unable to eat anything for so long is. -
Should I be worried ? Anyone who has had a slip ?
*susan* replied to coltonwade's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have slipped my band twice now. Both times, for me the symptoms were very similar to yours. Solids and/or mushies were absolutely impossible for me to get down. If I was lucky, and usually not at all until late afternoon, I was able to get liquids down. The first time I went on like this for quite a while before going in to see my doctor. The second time, which was just recently, I knew after only two days and wasted no time getting in. Both times, I had a complete unfill and did liquids only for seven days. Then progressed back to solids slowly. Each time, my band did go back into place, for which I am very happy. Has he done a fluoro so he can actually see what is going on with your band? That is how we determined mine was slipped both times. -
Scheduled for a fill tomorrow
*susan* replied to vsnowrn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It sounds to me like you don't need a fill yet. When you go in, it should definitely be a two way conversation between you and your doctor. It will be obvious when you step on the scale that you are still losing weight. If you are not hungry between meals, and only able to eat small amounts of food at a time, then I would say you are plenty restricted right now. You don't want to get a fill just for the sake of getting one. Believe me, being overfilled is a very unpleasant experience. I too, have heard of people who have never needed a fill. However, they are few and far between. Eventually, you will probably need one. But, no need to push it until you really do need it. -

Sherry, I am glad everything went well for you. I have to agree, LBT is a fabulous site. I remember how wonderful it was when I was first thinking about the band to know I could come here and talk to people who understood where I was coming from and who were already experienced with the band. It truly makes a world of difference and we have a wonderful community of people here.

Hi and welcome to LBT. Here is a link to our frequently asked questions forum: Pre-Operative Testing - Lap Band Surgery and Lap Band Discussion Forum This should give you some good ideas of some questions to ask the doctor. Let us know how things go and which surgery he recommends you go with.

Hi Heather, and welcome. I don't think you are too young, in fact, we have several bandsters on this site that are younger than you. Although you have no co-morbities, with your BMI I think that you should be able to get approved. Keep in mind, based on who your insurance is through, they may require you to do a six month pre-diet. Keep us posted on how things progress and let us know if you have any questions.

Ok, quick note. January 2, 2002 it snowed in Atlanta. We were living in an apartment up there. My doxie loved it, he kept diving in and out of the snow. Now, I want a funnel cake!!!!
