Should I be worried ? Anyone who has had a slip ?
*susan* replied to coltonwade's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Whew, glad everything is ok with your band! I am sure you must be totally relieved as well. -
Hey Jennifer, welcome to LBT and congrats on getting banded. It sounds like you are doing quite well thus far. Let us know if you have any questions. On another note, I am very familiar with Traverse City! We used to spend our summers in a little park on Crystal Lake in Beulah. It was so beautiful there. And, I remember going to the cherry festival in Traverse City, which was always fun.

Yipee...onto mushies!
*susan* replied to Cleo's Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ahhh, I remember my first official mushy meal after having been on liquids only for weeks. It was scrambled eggs that my dh made me and they were the most wonderful thing I had thought I had ever eaten. Have you checked out this thread: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f82/mushies-stage-recipes-17637/ There are a lot of good suggestions there. -
revision scheduled for oct.21st NERVOUS
*susan* replied to jsewell's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hi, I have not had a revision, or the problems with my band that you have. I am so sorry you went through that, it sounds awful. I truly hope you have great success with your revision surgery. -
Wow, tapshoes, I think you did! Good job. Happy hump day everyone! Plain, I like the new picture as well. Good grief, it took me way too long to type this with just one hand, ugh. How am I supposed to work when I am a database specialist? She Smiles, I hope you get to feeling better. Where are those puppy pictures? Can you include smellavision with them, I love puppy breath too!

Lap band - don't do it!! Scarred for life
*susan* replied to LAPBANDFREE's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This is obviously a topic that has evoked a great deal of varying emotions from all involved. However, upon agreement from LBT moderators, we have decided it is time to close this thread. Thank you to everyone who provided valuable input. -
Slim, that would totally freak me out!

Lap band - don't do it!! Scarred for life
*susan* replied to LAPBANDFREE's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, "me thinks" continued speculation and comments such as have been made in this thread only leads to further needless arguing. Hint, hint. -
We need puppy pics! Posting to whine about my wrist too. Was diagnosed with carpal tunnel today after having a great deal of numbness and pain. Now I gave this annoying brace, can't use my left hand and have to have pt. Whine over, can I have some cheese now?

Noooooooooooooooooooooo, a Gordon fan?? Say it isn't so!!

Umm, football... Now, lets talk about something truly interesting, Nascar. My man, Tony Stewart won the race on Sunday!! :w00t:

Sue, don't be embarrassed at all! Your doctor understands and is not going to give you a hard time about it. After all, you don't have your band yet. Most importantly, you are approved! Congratulations! Let us know when you get a date.

Just a quick Hi from Arizona
*susan* replied to Dragontech's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi and welcome to LBT. It sounds like you are off to a great start. Let us know if we can help you at all. -
Hi Don, and welcome to LBT. Once you get past the initial consult, the process usually moves pretty quickly. Do you know if your insurance requires any type of supervised diet prior to giving approval for the band? Take a look around the forums and let us know if you have any questions, we are happy to help.

Yep, probably not the best choice you could have made only 2 1/2 weeks out. How are you feeling today? Just a suggestion, after having a bad "episode" like that, it is usually a good idea to go back on liquids for 24 hours.
-
Hey there Jenilee, we are so glad to have you join us. Welcome to the forum!

We definitely need puppy pictures!! Wow, LJM, I can't believe you are halfway through. Before long, we will be asking for pictures of your new little one!

Lap band - don't do it!! Scarred for life
*susan* replied to LAPBANDFREE's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
And on that note, can we please return to debating/attacking the idea and not the person? Thank you. -
Ugh, say it isn't so! :frown::tt2::thumbup::frown::frown:

Is creamed corn ok 2 wks out?
*susan* replied to Losing_It_In_Texas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Corn is a really tough food for a lot of bandsters. I am over two years out and still cannot eat corn, creamed or otherwise. Have you checked out this thread: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f82/mushies-stage-recipes-17637/ There are a lot of excellent suggestions there that you may like to try. -
It sounds like you are doing great and adjusting well to life with the band. As for "only" having lost 26 pounds since surgery, what do you mean "only"??? You are doing fabulous and ahead of the curve at only about six weeks out. Remember, the band is not gastric bypass, it is designed for us to lose a healthy 1-2 pounds per week.

I have not heard of a port "breaking off" before. It may have possibly flipped though. I would definitely contact your doctor as soon as possible based on the symptoms you are having though.

Poll - Democrat or Republican?
*susan* replied to KariK's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Let's just make sure we keep the thread on topic please. No name calling of fellow members, even if it is just to "make a point" as that can cause needless arguing. We attack the idea, not the person. -
Thanks for the comments on my new picture guys, you made me blush! :crying: Lulu, no way you would catch me running in the buff. I would have permanent black eyes!!
