Gadgetlady, The Watcher, and all in between...
*susan* replied to stevegoad's topic in Rants & Raves
Steve, will you buy me a Water with a lemonade flavored crystal lite packet? I prefer those. Thanks. -
Tap, you having one of those days too, huh? Sorry, hope it gets better.
-
Why yes, Missy, I did read her response prior to responding. Thank you though.

Just because one's parents are older doesn't mean they are smarter and wiser. If we are referring to an adult parent versus a child, then probably, yes. But, I am 42 years old and my parents are 75 and 76. We do not share the same beliefs. Does that make them right and me wrong, no. Does that make me right and them wrong, no. They were raised in a generation of racism, sexism, etc. There was no tolerance for anything that is different than what they consider "the norm". I love my parents, but there beliefs are outdated. We have learned much in recent years and my generation has grown so much. My children, at the ages of 15 and 17 are of a much more accepting generation. They, along with their friends, don't understand racism and they don't understand why people are against same-sex relationships. I am proud of them that they are accepting of everyone for who they are and what they are. And, if their beliefs end up being different than mine, I will not chastise them, I will accept them and be proud that they are individuals who can think with their own minds and make their own decisions.

Good morning everyone, and happy hump day!

I am posting to say I am really mad all my local stores stopped carrying Breyer's Peanut Butter Tracks ice cream. But I will concede that my average weight loss has increased since their doing so.
-
Fanny, that is wonderful!

SNT, I so agree with you. I just want it to be done. I didn't have to wait in line at all to vote. I went at 4:00, walked right up and voted. It was nice.

weight watchers on the band?
*susan* replied to Lshelley21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Shamrockgirl, you are right about that. When I was thinking about getting the band, I was doing weight watchers at that time. I mentioned it on their message boards and you would not believe the flaming they gave me. Every so often I peak back in and search to see if anyone is posting about WW and the band. They still flame anyone that has WLS. -
Extremely dry mouth
*susan* replied to illinoishusker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know, but I found the same thing. The more I drink, the drier my mouth is and the thirstier I am as well. -
can't keep anything down, even liquids
*susan* replied to newyorker33's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sometimes it takes as long as two weeks for a fill to kick in. Sounds like yours took a couple of days. I think it might be a good idea for you to call your doctor and go in for a slight unfill. It is best not to let this go on too long, believe me, I know from personal experience. -

Trying not to think the worst...
*susan* replied to JayJay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi JayJay, did you find out from your doctor what is going on yet? My band has slipped a couple of times, both pretty badly. Each time, we were able to correct the slip by doing a complete unfill and liquids only for the first three days after the unfill. -

[i'll check my calender, but.....my new one-man show, The Plain train is pretty booked up. Plain, sometimes you just leave me speechless. -
Tapshoes, isn't that the best time of the day at work? I usually get here around 7:15 and everyone else doesn't get here until 8:00. It is so nice and peaceful and quiet, no one bugs me and I get more done in that 45 minutes than the rest of the day. And, I get to leave earlier than everyone else!

She, as long as it was delicious, and you did get exercise by having to walk back to refill the glasses, the calories were zeroed out. Good morning everyone. Go vote. Lets end the political arguing here on LBT, woo hoo!!

Help, I have been sucked into the bowels of hell and cannot seem to drag myself back out!!!

JWRN, my post was not in response to what Pattygreen said, which is why I qouted Beth, to show that I was responding to the question that she asked me. Basically, she wanted to know if I respect people who take the unpopular side of an issue or have a different belief than I do. Or, at least that is what I interpreted her question to be. And, I responded to that. I didn't accuse anyone here of spewing hate or ensuing violence.
-
I respect everyone's right to have their own opinion. For example, myself, personally, I could never have an abortion. I believe the moment my child was conceived, it was just that, a child. However, I respect that other people do not hold that same belief and do not put them down for their beliefs nor try to force them to believe the same as I. Hence, why I am pro-choice. What I disrespect are people who can't respect that others have as much right to what the believe in as they do. I will defend your right to argue and support your belief till the end of time. But, when you can't do that without calling others names, spewing hate upon them, stripping them of their dignity, ensuing violence, etc., then you lose the right to that respect.
-
I am posting just to post that I shouldn't have violated my own personal posting rules and posted in that post about that post because now I am having to defend my post. End of post.

I am not "right", "left" or anything else. I abhor politics and all the fighting that has erupted as a result. Now, had she personally attacked someone or violated an LBT rule, yes, I would have done my "little moderator thing". However, she stated her feelings about people who disagree with her lifestyle and the types of hatred and discrimination she has to tolerate as a result. I applaud people when they stand up for their rights and was pleased to see her enter this particular thread and do so. I applaud and respect people who respect others rights to be who they are and what they are and don't pass judgement upon them. I respect people who understand we are all different and that is what makes this world such a wonderful, interesting place to live. I respect ReadySteadyGo for standing up for who she is and her right to respect, dignity and freedom to live her life in the way that best suits her and makes her happy.

RSG, glad to see you in here standing up for what is right!
