Jan. 20th Surgery Date.....YIPPY!!!!!
*susan* replied to horseygirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on getting your date, that is wonderful news! You will probably be feeling much better by the 26th, but don't be afraid to lean on your family and ask for extra help with any birthday plans you have for her. -
It's still Monday here. I am bored and watching Seinfeld re-runs.

Noooooo, don't tell people about those sensors!!! You will put my husband out of his job!!

As Laura mentioned, I hate going to events and barely being able to stuff myself into those little, itty bitty seats, it was so embarrassing. I also avoided eating at public functions. I always felt like everyone was staring at me, the fattest girl in the room and thinking "why is she eating, she needs to stop eating". Lastly, I just wanted to feel like a sexy woman again. I am not as young as I used to be and I want to feel good about myself again.

Oh, and I love accessing LBT from my G1. Especially since they are really cracking down on us at work for using the internet for personal use. My only thing is, I don't understand why when we post via the mobile site, why doesn't our signatures show up?

Fanny, I love the pictures as well. My dream vacation is to go storm chasing. Tornado's fascinate me and I think that would be an amazing way to spend a week. Froggi, hope all went well with your surgery.

Post -op - How long until you feel like yourself again?
*susan* replied to LSF's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me, it was a full week before I started feeling pretty normal again. I would say at the end of two weeks, other than the occasional pulling from the port area, I was back 100%. -
Post Surgery Weight Gain
*susan* replied to QuidProQuoVA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will probably see those six pounds drop off in the next couple of weeks. Sascha is adorable. I had a yorky growing up, her name was Mitzi. I had her for 13 wonderful years and miss her to this day. -
Surgery in 3 days and i am nervous
*susan* replied to Lopez1978's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I remember how I was in the last few days prior to my surgery. It is such an exciting time! You are both nervous about the surgery part, and excited to finally be starting your new life. Before you know it, you will be an official bandster and on your way. Let us know how everything goes. -
For those who have taken Lap Band...
*susan* replied to alicez's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Like the others said, it is a very individual thing. In terms of how long you are in the hospital, many doctors do the surgery on an outpatient basis. Then, there are those like my doctor who prefer to keep you overnight. Unless you have some type of complication, I have never heard of anyone staying more than one night though. In terms of recovery time, again, it depends on the individual. How you have handled previous surgeries can be an indicator. For me, it was a full week before I felt well enough to return to somewhat normal activity. -
Tap, maybe he heard all the rumors about Plain and that is what has him concerned. Beth, congrats on becoming an official bandster! Denise, I used the option to save mine to my photo bucket account. I then copied the url and added it under my user cp. Let me know if you need more detailed instructions and I will send them to you.

Post Surgery Weight Gain
*susan* replied to QuidProQuoVA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Actually, this is not unusual at all. First off, they pumped you up with a lot of liquids during surgery. You may also be retaining Water. And, your body just went through surgery, so it is likely to be a bit out of whack right now. Don't get discouraged. Remember, the time immediately following your surgery is for healing, not losing. Most people do not lose once they have had surgery until they reach proper restriction once they start having fills. And, many people gain as well. I love your puppy in the avatar! -

Informational Meeting today
*susan* replied to notimetowaist's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Sue, I am not from your area, but just wanted to welcome you to LBT. Check back in with us after you go to the meeting and let us know if you have any questions. -
Hey, I just noticed Mac has a face...cool!!! I like it.

I am so sorry you are having such a difficult time. I know most of us with weight issues tend to be insecure as it is, and then to have to work in that type of environment can be even more stressfull. I am surprised that your HR department was not willing to do anything to help with the situation. To me, that seems like they are setting themselves up for a possible lawsuit by failing to do what they are supposed to do. I would keep all my options open. Get your resume out there on monsterjobs.com and careerbuilder.com. Set up an account to where it emails you daily job postings that match the requirements you set up. You never know when your next perfect job may open up. In the meantime, feel free to vent here whenever you need to. I wish we could do more to help.

Good morning everyone. Wow, this introduction post has grown into quite the thread. It has really grown beyond the introductions forum, so, I am moving this thread to the locals forum under West Virginia.

Thats right, I have had on my leather gloves in the mornings all this week! You can keep that cold weather. For me, anything below 70 degrees is pushing it!! Good luck on your surgery today! Congratulations, She!! And yes, I am absolutely freezing again today!! Brrrrrrrrrrr.
-
Beth, good luck tomorrow. I am sure everything will go wonderfully for you. As soon as you feel up to it, let us know how you are doing.

Perfect, are you kidding? It is 59 degrees!!! I am freezing!! But, I do have a lovely fire going in the fireplace right now.
