Band Out, Sleeve In! It's done.

I have been dissolving them too, but literally have to force them down. Maybe I will try cutting them in half now to see if I can get them down. I am just now getting to where I can take a little bit bigger sip of Water to go down without it feeling like there is a lump in there, so maybe I can handle the pill now too. We can have pudding!! Oh my, I so cannot wait for tomorrow!! So, you are having tomato soup for dinner, but I want to know, what did you have for your first official full fluids breakfast? I remember whenever the cleaning lady came to my room at the hospital, the smell of the cleaning stuff she used made me very nauseous too.
  2. Man, that sounds so good, as I sit here drinking my broth. Someone told me to get Ramen noodles, dump the noodles and take the seasoning packet and mix it with hot water. I have to say, it is pretty good and the chicken flavor one has a nice kick to it for a change.
  3. I don't like any of the other Kellogg's water, but I haven't tried that one. I will give it a try. Thanks.

Elisabeth, how are you taking your Nexium? Are you able to swallow them whole? I'm not, I have to dissolve them in water.

Oh, I like this one. Thanks. That is awesome. Oh, and I love farmers market. Can't go anywhere near them right now though.
  6. Oh, not a bad idea. Maybe I will have to try that when I move to full liquids on Sunday.

SNT, glad to hear everything went well for your dad, that is wonderful news!! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Good grief, I will be right back, I have to wipe the drool off of my chin now. Poor little guy. Am definitely keeping him, your sister and your whole family in my thoughts. Okay, before you all disappear for the weekend, like you know you do, please help me out here. Do any of you know a website where I can go and enter ingredients for a recipe and it will in turn give me the calories, fat, protein, etc.? If you do, I would greatly appreciate it.
  9. I suppose a nice boar's head roast beef sandwich with provolone cheese on Publix Italian sandwich bread is out of the question right now?

Like Mac said, he deleted it, but we can still see it. :tt2: I love horror movies. I am going to go see that this weekend with my kids. As for cleaning house before the cleaning lady come, I used to do the same thing. I am thinking about going back to a cleaning lady at least once a month again, because I hate cleaning with a passion. Wow, I can't believe Plain hasn't responded to this yet. He must not be feeling well or something. Sweet! I am hoping my DD's will go to a C, but that has never happened when I lost weight before. I have been a DD since a junior in high school when I was skinny. That sounds like an absolute blast. Enjoy. Okay, I think I can survive today and tomorrow. Sunday, it is time for full liquids!!!!!
  11. I am not even attempting to count protein until Sunday. I am averaging between 80 and 100 calories a day right now and have no energy. Good thing I have one day of full liquids before I go back to work Monday. I don't know how you are doing it.

Sorry, Elisabeth. I panicked when I saw that and thought, "oh no, she misunderstood what I posted" and went into panic mode. Sorry to disappoint you. I am glad WASa had your work email!! At least you have something to look forward to tomorrow. I have been putting my grocery list together for creamed Soups and Protein shakes and such for full liquids, I can't wait for Sunday!!!

    Learning my limits

Elisabeth and I had our surgeries done within a day of each other with Dr. Aceves in Mexicali, Mexico. We both agree that every aspect of it was wonderful. The staff were amazing, the hospital was amazing and the doctor was amazing. Both of us have separate threads in this section about our experience, which you can read, if you like. We give lots of details there.

When I had my band, sometimes I would eat too much, too fast, or in the case of my band, it just felt like it and get stuck with the golf ball feeling in my chest. It would not be enough to make me PB. Instead, I would find myself sitting there with a plastic cup sliming up the stuck food for the next thirty minutes to an hour. Basically, the food had started some of the digestion process, so as it was slowly working its way up, it literally got slimy as it came out.

No, no, it said we must stay on the clear liquid diet for ten days before moving to full liquids! Then, if we tolerate full liquids well after seven days, we could move to mushies.
  16. Elisabeth, I thought we couldn't advance to full fluids until ten days? And then, if we were doing well with them, we could move to mushies seven days later?

    Learning my limits

I agree with Elisabeth, you have almost a month until surgery and there is no reason why they shouldn't be able to get it to you within that time. That is ridiculous that it would take that long. I would call them, like she said and explain that you will be traveling out of the country and if they cannot guarantee shipment prior to that time, you wish to cancel your order. I am willing to also bet they will find a way to meet your deadline as opposed to losing a sale. I wasn't on my laptop at all the day of the surgery. But, again, anesthesia really does a number on me and I was pretty much out of it all day. Then, the next day I had surgery again. But, by that night, I did sign on, answer emails and post here as well.

    Help Please..

Honestly, it sounds like you may need to work on your chewing habits a bit more. Most bandsters take at least twenty minutes or longer for a meal. You need to make sure you are taking baby size bites. When I first was banded, I used baby utensils to help me get used to the size of bites I was supposed to take. You also have to make sure you remember to chew, chew, chew! Do not swallow your food until it is chewed to a mush. Next. put your utensils down between bites and wait a moment to make sure you are not satisfied before taking another bite. The band can be quite fickle and many things will affect your restriction. Anything from stress, weather, time of month, etc. can cause you to have more restriction.

Way to go girl!!! I am so sorry for this, I can understand your sister and your families distress. He is definitely a cute little guy and in my thoughts. Well, no big plans here. Actually, who am I kidding, I am very excited because I get to move from clear liquids to full liquids on Sunday!! I have been scouring the food forum here for full liquids recipes. I found one for a cheesecake protein shake that I am pretty darn excited about.

Elisabeth, glad the shift worked out well for you. I agree about the liquid diet, I am sick of it too. I was reading our paperwork last night and saw that it said if you are tolerating the full liquid diet well after seven days you can move to mushies. However, it said we are absolutely not to move to full solids until thirty days after surgery.
  25. Thanks, CC. The only problem I am having right now is I am still fighting nausea. But, I always seem to have a problem with that after I have surgery. It just seems a bit worse this time, but I think the extremely low caloric intake I am consuming right now is contributing to that.
