I am sorry to hear that, dange. I am sure Bob will be as well. Sometimes having to wait on others for something we really want can be so darned frustrating! I will keep my fingers and toes crossed that everything comes through for you quickly!

I'm sure this is in the wrong section but--any ideas?

Nah, Alex wouldn't ignore you, he is a great guy. He and his team are always working hard to make our online experience the best possible. -
That is exciting news, WhiteRice. Congratulations!

Thanks for asking, I was wondering the same darn thing! That doesn't sound very pleasant. I think I will stick with waxing too. BigNana, you can quote just one person, or several when responding in a thread by clicking on the quote or multi-quote buttons on the lower right of the post that you want to reply to. I understand your concerns about hair loss. I think, for woman, our hair has a great deal with how we feel about ourselves, or at least it does for me. If I am having a "bad hair day" that affects my mood for the whole day because I don't feel good or confident about the way I look. While I have heard some people mention hair loss, I haven't heard anyone say it was significant enough to be real noticeable to anyone other than themselves. It is tough not to gain before the surgery, because we tend to get that "last supper" mentality. We want to get all of our favorites in before we get our new tummies. But, it is important not to gain and to have your liver healthy so the doctor can perform the surgery on you. Is he going to have you on any type of pre-op diet?

Wow, I just saw this thread and now, I am not so sure I am happy about that, lol. That was pretty scary stuff!

Alex said they are working on resolving the chat room issues, but it may take a few more days. -

There are problems with chat both on this site and LBT. I know both he and Ken are aware of the issues, I will ask him for an update. -
We are hovering around a nice 92-94 here in Florida, with our predictable summer thunderstorms that I love.

Hi BigNana! Welcome to our forum, we are so happy to have you join us! I was amazed at how little pain was involved with the sleeve surgery. I actually expected more because I was a revision from the band to the sleeve, but the pain was really, really minimal. As for side effects, I haven't had any. Unless, you consider losing a lot of weight and feeling much better to be a side effect, lol. I haven't experienced any hair loss, I never have when I have been losing weight. I have heard others mention they have though. At any rate, I am happy to see that after three years you are finally able to get the surgery you want. The sleeve will be a blessing for you and you will love it. We look forward to following you on this wonderful journey.

It may stink now, but man I remember how beautiful the Upper Peninsula always got in the fall. I loved it.

Accompanying me...or not?

That is great news. Has she come around a bit more in terms of supporting you with your decision to have the surgery? -
Bob, sounds like things are moving along nicely for you. I was also borderline diabetic prior to getting my band in 2006. There is a lot of history of it in my family and that was one of the things that helped me decide it was time to finally do something about my weight. You had to be poked twice for the blood draw? Ugh, were they having trouble finding a good vein or what?

OMG I Have a date set!!! FINALLY....
*susan* replied to PennyS's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Penny, yay, I am so excited for you. That is fabulous news! My husband says to high-five your hubby for getting lucky tonight. But, now he is giving me that look as well, sheesh. WhiteRice, welcome to the forums and congrats on getting your date as well! -
When I was on liquids only, I gave up trying to get in the recommended protein. I wasn't able to even come close until I moved to mushies.

Amanda, glad to hear you are doing well. I hope your road to recovery is quick and easy. It is amazing, those little surprises we wake up to. When I woke up, I found out Dr. Aceves had removed several moles, two tumors from my liver and some gall stones.

Back home - very difficult post op for me
*susan* replied to susimar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am sorry things didn't go well for you. Hopefully, that is all behind you now and you will continue to improve and feel better. -
I have always felt that how you have recovered from previous surgeries is a fairly good indicator of how one will recover from band surgery. I know quite a few people who had the surgery done on Friday and were back to work on Monday. Personally, I needed a full week, but, as you said, everyone is different. What type of work do you do? That makes a huge difference. If you have a desk job, you should be fine. If you do something more physical or are on your feet a lot, you might be pushing it a bit.

Another newly banded hopeful
*susan* replied to RobinS's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Robin, thank you for joining us! With regards to fill, just remember that you may not feel the restriction you are looking for after the first fill. Some times it takes several before you reach your "sweet spot." However, I believe it is better to be more conservative than aggressive with fills, as being over filled is miserable and can cause problems. Good luck on your journey. Please keep us posted on how you are doing. -
