Amanda, that will be great to know what those pains are. Vegas, 8:00 a.m. is sleeping in, lol? I guess I shouldn't mention I didn't drag my lazy butt out of bed until 10:00 this morning then.

Jachut always has some really good ideas. Wish I would have seen this when I was going through my liquids phase too! Vegas, why are you on mushies for another six weeks?
-
*sigh*, I haven't been back to visit this thread because I thought it was clear that I was the winner. Now, run along everyone, there is nothing to see here except for me holding the trophy!

I agree with Vegas, four weeks seems like an extremely long recovery time. I have never heard of anyone needing that long. BigNana, you and I sound a lot alike. I am also very shy. I do well online, and once I get to know people, I am great. But I can't stand going into situations where I don't know anyone. I am so uncomfortable and I prefer to just shrink away and hope I am not noticed. Now, if someone goes with me that I know, I am better, but I stick to them like glue. My hubby and I are both the same way, I think that is why we do well together. We make a good team.

LOL, there are definitely some crazy, but fun, people on here!

I had never heard of the stick blender until you guys started posting about it. I do agree that the Magic Bullet does take up a lot of counter space. I will have to check out the stick blender.

a few questions (lapband to vsg)
*susan* replied to adavis's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi adavis, and welcome to the forums. Life with the sleeve is completely different than it is with the band. I had no idea just how badly my band had affected my quality of life until I revised to the sleeve. With the band, it occupied my mind 24/7. I was always thinking about if we go here, what will they have that my band will tolerate? Should I eat lunch with my coworkers or skip it again to avoid the pb embarrassment? I mean it literally affected every aspect of my life. With the sleeve, you really don't think or worry about that stuff anymore. I have found there is nothing I can't eat, nothing gets stuck and I have no worries. You can eat anything, just not as much of it. Now, granted, if you eat to much, you will be miserable, but that is part of the learning process of listening to your body and knowing when you are full and need to stop eating. -
I think dirty "ole" men are the best!!!

Reflections from a Fat Chick
*susan* replied to roseyandmusic's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Rosey, glad to hear you are doing well, and the rest of our recent post-ops seem to be as well. I felt really weak while on the clear liquids too, but you should notice a big difference once you are able to move to full liquids. Getting the protein in is tough, in fact, I found it impossible until I moved to mushies. -
I want chocolate to go away forever!

Bearded, I just read in another thread where your substitution is not quite up for that yet, so someone better hide the chocolate in your house! -
Does VSG improve your sex drive???
*susan* replied to susimar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ohhh, now I understand Bearded's comment to Ruthi in the other thread, lol. -
Hmmmm, Bearded knows something I don't. Somewhere, I think I missed something.

I was a huge milk drinker, I really love it. But, I am one of the unfortunate ones who have become lactose intolerant since my surgery.

I want chocolate to go away forever!

Chocolate is evil!! Stay away from the chocolate. You just have to put blinders on. They have jars full of chocolate all over the place at work and I pretend not to see it. -
Hi Fluffy! Welcome to VST!

I cannot remember the name, it wasn't in a can, it was in a bag. I have to go by Publix on my way home from work tonight. I will try and remember to go down the soup aisle and get the name for you.

Awesome, I love Jacksonville. My son is starting FSU in Tallahassee next month, so I am sure I will be going up there to visit him frequently. When I do, we will have to meet up for lunch or something.

Mac, great advice!

We absolutely will let you know. They are talking about sending us again next April, so I have my fingers crossed. -
I was constantly chewing gum to cover up my bad breath. Fortunately, I am past that now. Either that, or I have gotten used to it and everyone else are to polite to tell me otherwise!

Back home - very difficult post op for me
*susan* replied to susimar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Penny, I was really worried about the flights as well. We went from San Diego to Jacksonville, Florida. But, I was actually pretty comfortable. On each flight, we originally had three people in our row. My hubby mentioned to the flight attendant that I had surgery and if it could be arranged to where we have just he and I in a row, that would be wonderful and they actually accommodated us. That worked out well because I was able to stretch out more. When possible, I got up and moved around and had no issues at all. If you find the seat belts to be too tight, ask for an extender so you have a little extra room. -
I thought the cream of chicken was great. I also found a potato cheddar soup at the grocery store that was delicious. I had to put it through the blender first, to liquify the little chunks of potato. It was actually so good, my family was eating it too.
