  1. I agree that the most important thing is that everyone research, research and research some more. It is vital that one make an informed decision when choosing which surgeon to go with.
  2. Stimpy, you have done a great job with losing weight, so I am sure your liver will be just fine. Good luck to you on Monday! Please let us know how things went as soon as you feel up to it.

Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?

Wow, that sounds really unpleasant. I have never had one, and now hope I never do.
  4. Now that would be a great option, to pick our primary areas that we want to lose from!

    Compulsive Worrier

Like Daisy said, you should be on some sort of meds for acid reflux. Did your doctor not prescribe anything for this? Right now, your tummy hasn't figured out that it is much, much smaller than what it used to be. Therefore, it is still producing the same amount of acid as it was before. That is why you need to be on something. I started on Nexium Mups and when that ran out, I bought Prilosec and that works great for me. As for a leak, symptoms include rapid heart rate, dizziness, shortness of breath, fever, worsening abdominal pain, left chest or shoulder pain, abdominal distention, the appearance of illness and a general feeling that something is very wrong. If you are experiencing those symptoms, I would call your doctor. Most likely, you are just recovering and going to feel sore and tender on and off for a while though.

Just be strong, Daisy. Explain how he makes you feel when he withdraws from you and how it effects your feelings and relationship. If you two are supposed to be in a relationship, he should be able to share his feelings with you and let you know what is bothering him so you can help each other out.

Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?

I hear you!! When my hubby and I got together ten years ago, he was an extremely good looking man, well built, the whole package. He hadn't gone grey yet and didn't have the extra pounds he does now. I, on the other hand already weighed about 218 pounds when we got together. We would go places and other woman were always flirting with him. I always felt like they were looking at me and wondering what a sexy looking guy like him was doing with a fatty such as myself. I used to be so paranoid and worried that they were going to try and steal him from me.
  17. Grrrr, it is 11:15 here and as usual, I am heading to bed when you guys are heading to chat. I always miss all the fun. *pouts*

    Advice needed

Daisy, I think Tiffy is right. You need to have closure with Bill before you move on, it is the fair thing to do for you, him and anyone you may become involved with. Maybe you should do like Brandy and have some pinup photos or something done. That looks like so much fun to me, once I get to my goal, I want to have them done and give them to my hubby for a gift.

    Food network

Oh, absolutely one can grieve/mourn the loss of food. For many of us, it was our main means of self comfort. If we were happy, mad, scared, etc., we turned to food. Now, food is no longer going to be the main focus in our life. We worry there are things we will never be able to eat again. However, I have learned that there is nothing I can't eat with the sleeve, I just have to eat it in smaller quantities than what I used to. At first, I even found myself getting annoyed because something tasted so good and I just wanted more but my new tummy refused to allow me that luxury. Then, I finally realized that is why I got fat to begin with. Now, I just remind myself this isn't like it is the last time I will ever be able to have this food, I can have it again tomorrow if I want. I just can't have anymore of it right now, because I have reached my limit.

Your 15 year old sounds like my 18 year old son. He loves to cook as well and you can hardly keep him out of the kitchen. He loves to eat too, but is so skinny a good wind will blow him away.

I know, Paula's dishes look so yummy, but they also look like a heart attack waiting to happen. I am surprised she doesn't weigh 900 pounds!

    Right Side Pain? Help

I had something similar to that, actually. It turned out I was severely dehydrated and had developed a kidney infection. I had a lot of nausea and dizziness, but nothing ever went numb, so I am not sure about that. If it keeps up, I would definitely have it checked out, better safe than sorry.

    Food network

Hi and welcome to our forums! We are glad you found us and joined our new and growing community. I love the food Network normally, but made a point of avoiding it at all costs while on the post-op diet. I know I couldn't have handled that. It is normal to be obsessed with the scale, especially right in the beginning. I was weighing myself every day. Now, since we moved and my scale is not as easily accessible, I weigh once a week. Your rate of loss is hard to predict. It is different with everyone. I lost a pound a day the first month. I had a plateau for several weeks and am now averaging anywhere from 1-3 pounds a week.

Yay, Daisy! I had some Korean beef for the first time in May and it was delicious.

Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?

Nope, we should talk about anything that affects us as woman. But once things get juicy, you know the guys will be peaking in here, especially bearded, lol!
