Expectations during liq pre op diet???
*susan* replied to attitudefree's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Another thing I found that wasn't particularly pleasant was liquids in, liquids out. -
Well, by now you should be at your pre-op. Hopefully, once you meet the doctor and his staff, a lot of your nervousness will be alleviated. Let us know how it went.

I don't know, there isn't anything that can replace snuggling up to a man on a cold, cold night.

Wisdom about the sleeve
*susan* replied to attitudefree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1. Listen to your body and stop eating when you are no longer hungry, not full or stuffed. 2. Fuel your body with healthy foods. 3. Exercise is key to losing weight and improving your health. -

APPROVED, Revision from Lap Band, need help
*susan* replied to heftynetty's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hi and welcome to the forums! I would be concerned if they will ever be able to get your band positioned properly again if you have too much scar tissue. Just based on that alone, I would opt for the sleeve. -

Anyone experience long bouts of nausea?
*susan* replied to Ruthi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ruthi, are getting enough fluids in? The first month I was sleeved, I was constantly nauseous. I was also severely dehydrated and learned the nausea was a side effect of that. After a couple of visits to the hospital and getting myself good and hydrated again the nausea disappeared. -

What do you want to do that you couldn't do before the sleeve?
*susan* replied to *susan*'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ha, ha, Ruthi, when I first started reading your post, I thought you were going to say you wanted to walk past your ex wearing nothing but what you bought from Victoria's Secret. And, I understand where you are coming from. My ex married my ex best friend. I am evil in that every time I see her now, she has put on a few more pounds and it makes me feel somewhat vindicated. -
Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?
*susan* replied to Oregondaisy's topic in The Gals' Room
Daisy, that is lucky! I don't have any yet and my parents didn't start turning until they were in their late 60's, so I am hoping I have the same luck. The minute it does start to turn, I will start to color. Unfortunately, I do get some very annoying gray eyebrow hairs. I pluck those babies the minute I see them. -
Reflections from a Fat Chick
*susan* replied to roseyandmusic's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Rose, glad to hear you are starting to get your energy back and feel well again. I had a hard time getting used to taking tiny sips of water too. But, you will find as time goes on, you are able to take a bit larger drinks than what you are now, and it will be much more satisfying. -
Welcome to the forums and thank you so much for sharing your story with us. As Ruthi said, you will love Dr. Aceves, his staff and the quality of care you receive from them.

Vegas, step away from those pickles! I have already staked out my claim on them!!

Ruthi, you can have the eggs if I can have the pickles. I absolutely love pickles!!!

Post Surgery Needs for Out-of-State Surgery
*susan* replied to Oregon Rose's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Like Ruthi said, I had no problems with my underwire bras at all. I just made sure to take loose clothing, like sweatpants. I also took shoes I could just slip my feet into so I wouldn't have to try and bend over to tie them. If you have a laptop, I would definitely take it, after all, you want to stay in contact with us! -
Wow, I am so sorry you are still having issues. I can understand having a decrease in energy, but I really thought you would be past the headaches by now. Have you talked to your doctor about them and see what they suggest?

What do you want to do that you couldn't do before the sleeve?
*susan* replied to *susan*'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Exactly, the clearances are great. I refuse to spend a ton of money on clothes that I know I won't be able to wear too long. Yet, I can't not buy clothes because work and the general public tends to frown upon me walking around with my pants at my ankles because they have gotten too big. So, I try to only buy clothes that are on sale. When they had their 4th of July sale, I bought several blouses and slacks for less than $10.00 each. -
For me, once I moved onto full foods, I regained all of my energy. Plus, I added vitamins which helped a lot.
