See, I am a major technology geek. I love anything to do with technology and have to have all the newest, geekiest stuff. I am on facebook, twitter, and several other forums as well. As for tats, I have one that I got for my 30th birthday and have wanted another one ever since. When I reach goal, I plan to reward myself with one. The problem is, I want it be something that will symbolize my weight loss journey and what I have achieved, and I can't figure out what to get that will do that. Any suggestions?

Hello and welcome! Congrats on your decision. You will be really surprised at how quickly you fill up and how seldom you are hungry anymore. It helps a great deal. As for working out, I was told I could start walking right away, but not to return to the gym until I was six weeks out.

Headaches the first week ?
*susan* replied to kaykay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ohhhh, so you are the infamous hubby then! Yay kaykay for getting him to join. We love your wife. Oh, and stay away from that pork chop for now! -
That looks like a good site, thanks for posting it. I am 42 and have no idea when to expect menopause to start. My mom had a complete hysterectomy when she was 36, so I can't judge by her. I do know something weird happened in the middle of a meeting on Thursday. I was sitting there and all of a sudden I just started sweating profusely, I was so hot I couldn't stand it. Then I got really lightheaded and funky feeling. After about ten minutes it passed. I told hubby about it later and he said it sounds like I had a hot flash. I have no idea of this is a sign of the beginning of menopause, or was just a freak one time thing. Guess I will have to wait and see.

Smart Forme review and a tip.

Anything to mask that awful smell is helpful. I think that is another reason I don't do protein drinks. -
You guys definitely need a name and a sparkly thing, they are cool!

VEGAS, SHUSH!!!!! :001_tongue: Hubby has had a vasectomy and I had a surgery that made it nearly impossible for me to get pregnant. There will be no divine intervention here either! Son leaves for college on Saturday and my daughter is a junior in high school. No way am I willing to start over now, lol.

Congratulations! It really feels great when people start noticing the difference, and it encourages you to keep on keeping on!

Oh my goodness, you sound like a very, very busy lady! I am exhausted just reading about all that you do!

I am so pleased to hear that it sounds like you are improving now. I wouldn't worry about about the weight loss yet either, it will come soon enough. Your body is going through some major changes right now.

Anyone else have trouble with eggs on mushies?
*susan* replied to TennJenn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Someone mentioned ricotta and that reminded me of a couple of recipes Lulu shared with me when I was on mushies that I really enjoyed. Here they are: ricotta bake: 1 container skim ricotta 15oz 1 frozen pckg of spinach thawd/drained well - you can also use any veggie - sometimes i'll take zuchinni/eggplant and saute till soft 1/2 cup parmesean cheese 1 egg mix all together - put in a baking dish - add another 1/2c cheese on top and bake @ 350 till golden & bubbly - about 30mins *i'll add some marinara or pesto sauce on top once done* luff - 1 15oz container of lf ricotta 1 small tub of ff cool whip half packet of sf Jello cheesecake pudding mix half packet of sf chocolate pudding mix combine - set over night - YUM -
I am curious about that as well. The only thing I have been able to find is related to gastric bypass patients. They say due to malabsorption issues, birth control pills may be less effective and an additional method should be used for the first eighteen months following surgery. But, we don't have malabsorption with the sleeve.

It is 6:50 a.m. in the morning, and I now have a major pickle craving! And no, I am most definitely not pregnant!!

I get into a lot of the reality shows, but Big Brother is not one of them. I have watched it a few times and just couldn't get into it.

I haven't drank soda since I got my band in 2006. Up until that time, I was a diet coke addict. I drank at least six a day. One time about a year and a half ago, we were driving down the highway on a long trip and I was so thirsty. Hubby had a coke and I took a sip of it. I spit it right back out again, it tasted thick and syrupy. I haven't had a desire for any soda since.

3 weeks out and eating everything in site
*susan* replied to hungrygirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I second RoseBud. I am questioning why you are even on solids at just two weeks out, you should still be on liquids. You are heading down a dangerous road by not allowing your sleeve and staple line the time they need to heal. Do you want to end up back in the hospital with major complications due to a leak? I don't think so. And, I don't know how you can possibly eat two cups of food at one setting. That just seems impossible. I would contact your surgeon immediately and let him know what is going on. I would also seek counseling and set up an appointment with a nutritionist. -

Operation VSG was a success!
*susan* replied to jilljesalyn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Woot, welcome back Jill! Glad everything went well for you. As for the gas, the best thing you can do is walk it out. -
I wonder how much they charge for theirs?

Sounds like you two are doing well. Getting fluids down is tough, but it will get better over the next few weeks.
