1 day post op and scared
SashaVaughn replied to uptownmami278's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your doc isn't worried that all of the PB'ing you're doing will cause your band to slip. I was given anti nausea meds before and after surgery, around the clock while in the hospital and given a script to take home. My doc was very adamant about the affects of PB'ing. -
3 days post-op: my experience
SashaVaughn replied to Cleo's Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oddly enough day 1 and 2 wasn't that bad, probably still high on pain meds. LOL Day 3-8 were challenging due to port pain, sore/swollen stomach, horrible gas, unable to sleep comfortably which added to my aggravation. I'm 10 days post op and I'm feeling almost back to normal. I'm back in school, working full time and most importantly---sleeping COMFY. -
Any September Banders?
SashaVaughn replied to Keleka's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for your concern Slim. Oddly, all of my incisions are almost heeled, no oozing or pus and certainly not hot to the touch. I'm guessing in my situation it's a case of "healing" quickly on the outside and not the inside. I have my post op tomorrow, I will definitely voice my concerns to my doctor. -
Any September Banders?
SashaVaughn replied to Keleka's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all, I was banded on the 15th, so I'm just about a week out and my port site is ridiculously sore and tender. Has anyone else experienced this? It hurts to stand, walk, get out of bed or even sit. Any suggestions? Also it feels sooooo weird being able to feel it so clearly under my skin. It gives me the "willies". -
Have Your Bowel Movements Changed Since Surgery
SashaVaughn replied to amonroy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went from no bowel movements to diarrhea then back to nothing, all within a week's time. -
But how would the insurance company know? They can't verify anything after the fact b/c the patient would have lost weight. Again, I'm not justifying cheating...but you make it seem as if a rep from the insurance company will be there during your exam. :wink2:

I do and they're almost as uncomfortable as the gas pains. LOL -

Swollen Tummy- How long?
SashaVaughn replied to targa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 9/15 and the only problems I'm experiencing is trying to sleep on my left side. I have to prop myself up with pillows, and get out of the bed very slowly. Compared to the gas pains.....the discomfort of my swollen stomach is a piece of cake. LOL -
I had a half of deli sandwich (3 inches) with 5 Doritos's around 9 pm for an 11 o'clock am surgery. If that constitutes as 'pigging out' then I guess I did!

Spending the night after surgery?
SashaVaughn replied to kaytiebugs's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded on 9/15 and was released today around 12 noon. My procedure was fantastic, however some doctors are more "conservative" than others. I was literally walking in 10-20 minute increments 6 hours after my surgery.
