  1. Yes I need some rest. Where others are sleeping long hours, I’m not getting much sleep. I find it hard to sleep in my bed. I’ve been sleeping on my recliner.
  2. Right! I’ve been drinking in the one ounce cups, logging my pain meds, breathing in the machine apparatus they give, walking around the house. Whew!! I’m tired, but so happy I’m in this process for my health.
  3. Back from ER. I was concerned bc I had a very right red eye and two swollen ankles and my blood pressure at ER was in the 200’s. I have never had that high. Had ultrasound on both legs and labs, along with chest X-ray. They determined I’m retaining fluids. Thank God no blood clots! Suggested I could wear compression stockings and for me to rest and elevate legs. Gave me a diuretic for 3 days to reduce swelling. The awful looking red eye was not so urgent to them. They said it would go away on its own. Thanks for prayers and positive energy. Have to admit it was scary for a bit.
  4. I’m at the ER with swollen ankles. Gonna check for blood clots. Surgery was 4 days ago too
  5. I’m having my ankles swell. Had surgery on June 7
  6. Wishing you all the best. Your surgery will be here before you know it.
  7. I just had my sleeve on June 7. I am 69. My doctor was amazed at my progress
  8. I’m glad to hear you walked around inside your house. That’s what I’m doing. Laps around my house. I can’t get to the point where I’m presentable to be outside
  9. I agree too! It’s major surgery!
  10. Yes it will come quickly. Have everything prepared so it will ease your transition when u come home.
  11. I think it’s best you have a Plan B and have a driver take you home. I had my surgery June 7. I stayed in hospital til June 9. Today June 10, I am still taking pain meds. I would not dream of going to work until a week later. And i have high tolerance for pain. Good luck to you if you can do it. Also get a pillow to go home to place over your stomach while in the car you will need it.
  12. This morning I woke up sore. I still need pain meds to take. I could not sleep on my bed. Slept in my recliner. Drinking fluids one ounce every 15 minutes Able to shower.
  13. I’m home from my surgery I had on june 7th. I’m a little tender and sore but doing good so far. Hope I can keep track of all that I must do. One ounce of liquid every fifteen minutes. It wasn’t as bad as I thought. I can’t believe I did it! I have five incisions
  14. You’ve got this. I originally thought this surgery was barbaric and here I had it done yesterday. It went well. It wasn’t bad at all. It was like I blinked my eyes and it was done and I was in my room. I did it for health reasons. I take 4-5 insulin shots a day. I have a CPAP macine and so many other things. I gotta tell you girl I’m in no pain, have no hunger, and walking with no assistance. It’s unbelievable! Do I still think it’s barbaric—-NO WAY!
  15. I had the surgery at 69 and that worried me. I will be 70 in August. Was not a factor in how I Ifeel now that I had the surgery.
  16. I had my surgery yesterday. I’m in very little pain. I worried for nothing. I thought it would be worse than what it is. You will be fine!
  17. I had my surgery yesterday too! I had hernia repair as well, and that’s the only thing that is tender. I’ve been walking better than I was before surgery. I was scared and made myself think it was worse than what it was. I’m doing good! I’m not hungry at all.
  18. You words and postings really reassured me. Thank you so much! Blessings and much favor to you.
  19. I can’t believe we did it! Happy for you!
  20. Well I did it! The slight pain I feel is bc of hernia repair. No nausea Everything went smooth I can’t believe I did it!
  21. Surgery day today everyone! Please keep me in your prayers. It’s at 2:15 PM central time
  22. Call your doctor office before they close and ask them. Have you checked your blood pressure?
  23. I’m tomorrow too! I feel my heart racing! I tell myself that I can do this. I guess we are worrying too much about the pain. Good surgery results are coming our way. We will both be fine. God is good! My surgery is at 2:15 pm. What about you! I keep thinking about the Bible verse that says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phillipians 4:11
  24. My prayers are with you. You will do fine. Keep me posted. I’m tomorrow!
