Amen, with Joanne (and for you), keeping in prayers Mike, Pete and all 2b-banded this week! Our great forerunners, we are a blessed month of Decembers...cause miracles are happening, now! BTW, did you all see our Poster Guy Pete..the brave hearted guy on the Home page? You go Pete, I am still shy bout doing that! lol Just keep the kind heart going, and now getting it healthy! :cursing:
  2. Welcome back Sue and Sooverit! Sue...so glad you are still doing well, and thank you for the reacher tip(I am short 2, lol), I will have that by my bedside! Sooverit, Yeah, you go, another forerunner, and more lbs. biting the dust!!! I am fortunate that I am a planned stay over, hospital 2 hours from home, yes, still Kaisers closer (just in case). It is so cool getting the reports, helping our prepping...one week! And for one of our fearless leaders, JoannMarie, blessings to you, quick healing and recovery...as she is prob banded by now! BTW, did you all see Florida Pete's pics on the home page? You know he has the biggest of hearts! Have a blessed day in preps, surgery and recovery!:cursing:
  3. Hi Sue, another forerunner you are, cool, sounds like you are doing well! Thank you for coming back so quick with a report, helps us still in the 'pre-op' stage! Also for the hint on the hurts...had 2 C-sections, so that encourages me, and will remember to keep on top of pain (even if its nasty medicine - like Bugs Bunny said! hehe) Have a blessed recovery!:smile2:

    What is your Age/Date/Weight/Location?

Hi December Bandsters! Don't like to do stats, but it is a good measure before, then for the after I suppose! 48...want to be Phat for 50, 12/10/08 Dec Diamond in the rough, Kaiser, South San FRancisco, Sunny California (but NOT sweating the recovery...literally!) Started at 230, now bout 213-210... so we will seeeeee! Have a blessed rest and Pre-op with steady handed surgeon teams!
  11. Thanks Fran & Pete for the encouraging words. Welcome, Bandtastic! As Fran said, I believe ANY exercise we get moving in now will help with the surgery, just getting the muscles and blood a pumping, if even to help our body relieve the stress we can be going through in preparing for the surgery! I am so amazed at how my blood pressure esp. just DROPS from walking consistently. Something I am surprised at, I am now looking to park a few more spaces away, instead the very front one, because I CAN walk more steps because I want to! The challenge goes on with us as a team, and preparing all over for the new life on the horizon!:rolleyes2:
  12. I did it! I did IT! Today was our 5K Mercy Ministries Run/Walk (of course I walked) and did 19 min miles, with a 60 min time! It really felt good, last year I did it at about 20 lbs. +, and came in very last place. This year, I jogged in the last quarter and wasn't last! Amazing what 20-25 lbs lost can do...excited for it to be more, but in slow, steady and sure phases, why the band!

    December 10, 2008 Band Date

Hi Mjenkins! Am right there with you in the Pre in Pre-op! Did you happen to see the 21-30-51 challenge? The 30 is for those who are about 30 days, lil less now, for 30 min challenge before surgery! I have done it on and off, but now I am challenged (have since Mon!) to do it for the 27 days left til our week of dates! Please join us! Esp, if we don't, Florida Pete will win, and we can't let that happen, he is a guy! hehehe, Just kidding Pete...lead the way (only cause his wonderful Wife is helping):Dancing_sorry:!
  14. Greetings Pete, your wonderful supporter wife (sorry don't know name yet), Trina and Dec Bandsters! Sounds like you guys are on your way! I have been walking 30-40+ minutes each day, which is wow, esp, since I am fighting congestion & cough...which would stop me before...but NOT now! Want to be ready to literally 'walk" thru the recovery! {{Is everyone doing lots of walking? I have been told getting moving before the surgery really helps in recovery. Fran in Florida Band Date 12.10.08 }} I too have been blessed with a spouse who truly supports me, he has lost weight recently (I think to prepare for us together), and also a good support sister who is now helping me to pre-op well! Learning that the support is going to mean a whole lot in the upcoming weeks. Have a good day!
  15. Hi Pete, Hi Trina, and Dec Bandsters! Thanks for taking up the challenge! There is something about accountability and working with others that gets me going, I have walked 30+ min ea day, when I could've easily excused myself (gotten lazy). Amazing how quick our bodies respond to just the simplest of efforts, my BPressure just drops when I get consistent! That is one of the medications I am hoping to lose, among others. I also found a pretty good heart rate monitor watch at Walmart for about $35., it is a Mio. It really helps to watch my rate while exercising, and then cool to see how my heart rate is still working at a good percentage after exercising! Have a blessed day of exercising and activity!
  16. Wow...Pete...you are a hoot! I really like that siggie, so whatever our name will be, will you make it right? Esp like the Dec 2008 Bandsters under it! btw...the cartoon dishes aren't so bad...being that we are hoping to get healthy enough to feel like kids again! Isn't that one of our rights in life...to embarass our kids? hehehe Have a blessed day of healthy choices!

    December 10, 2008 Band Date

I do! I do! It is my 3rd one (date) and believing it is the charm! Only 5 weeks to go, let us 'walk' it together! I will be having it done in San Francisco, couple of hours from where I live. So, is anyone 'nesting' like me, preparing, and what other ways, like shopping (bought my slippers & shakes)? So excited, we will be set for the new year, finishing up 2008 with a great tool...to be & feel fine in 2009!
