How often do you vomit/PB?
sue in ne replied to mandi78's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Sherry, Wish you well on your recovery. Band slippage and removal are issues. sometimes it isn't eating rate or aggressive fills. Other factors come into play. I have sinus problems and the post nasal drip causes my pouch to fill too easily. :thumbdown:even when careful, I do PB and vomit. a good day is when I don't. -
umystifyme, Oh my, after all this, to have it removed is such a blow.. Does he think it is damaged? ....Other bandsters have had their band removed because of various problems. Is he sugesting a time to redo the band later?

but the question has moral and legal issues that should not be ignored, nor the practise encouraged. Previous discussuions were ended on this site, when the discussion ran towards 'how to'. The question was not innocent.

Valentine's Day Wt loss Challenge 2010
sue in ne replied to kaninag's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, my scale hasn't budged since August . I've been through some stress at home, and work, , had surgery, and now exercise is slow. Need a new goal ASAP. tehre s always Memorial DAY at the end of May ,or April 15th for deadlines.:tt2:.. -
umystifyme, With all your work and falls, etc.,perhaps the area is bruised? Did the surgeon suggest one of those wide belt like wraps they use over large stomachs post surgery? I had one post C-section- it gave more suppport than a girdle and was easier to remove.

Unfortunately, others have posed similar questions in the past,. and later expressed their intent to do so. We are only trying to convey the complications in such a venture. SO, yes, we have heard of people considering it. I personally don't know anyone who has gotten away with it successfully. Posting the question is not a good thing to do if you are considering it, anyway.

I'm a week late but my weight is the same as last Sunday. Count me in. My weight has fluctuated for months. had gall bladder out at XMAS. Hope to get back on track...

Besides lying and cheating, you have to keep up the pretense, hard to do. When ( not IF) caught, you will be fined, and insurance will not cover the surgery. You will pay for it, may lose your insurance. Insurance fraud is a felony. It takes time but do it right.

one can have heartburn w/o stretcjhing the pouch. esp if you had heartburn prior to banfding.
-
You should be able totake liquid meds you tolerated before, e.g. Tylem=nil cold, bena dryl. Do take something to deal with sinus drainage. It can upset your stomach.

sue in ne replied to kaninag's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi All, When is th next challenge? I am waffling aro=ound 220# but have had surgery and hte weather hasn't cooperated. I may yet lose a 1-2 # but I need to keep on trying -
umystifyme, Sounds like you are doing great!! Jollygreen is right, It is important to tell the doctor what your work involves so they can determine what is acceptable post op. Post carpal tunnel surgery, I had to explain I filled out 7-11 4 page forms longhand and signed my name 4 places for each docuement completed, every day. The doctor's note finally let me change the process and use a signature stamp.( ALso cut out a lot of time )

What/where is Malnati's?

Agree, your tummy will tell you. I'm 14 months post surgery and it has been a roller coaster ride. someone at this site called it that, it is. . some days I can eat anything, other days, the morning starts with difficuty getting fluid down. A lot of facters,e.g. sinus problems, what you ate and drank yesterday, bloaring, will affect it. I just had my gall blader out. It contributed to a lot of my issues this 1st year, too.

How often do you vomit/PB?
sue in ne replied to mandi78's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
i haven't vomitted in 10 days!! stomach stilll queasy at times . ( had gall bladder removed at XMas) Will make an appt with the dietician. Maybe i can get back on track after all this. -
Howdy Booth, Do increase liquids, esp water to at least 8 C/day. When I don't drink or exerxise enough, even at 800 Calories, i don't lose weight. Do up your protein, try smaller meals. And increase/change your exercise .

Officially did 67 miles, goal was 90- too ambitious for the weather...
-
Hard to say. Back off to liquids and soft mushies forthe majority of your intake. then only limited quatities of well cut up solids

BobbieND, I am in the same boat.waist size is stuck even when the scales move. Catherines or LB right sizing does allow for a wider waist. I just had gall bladder surgery so don't know if that is the problem, because I had done well losng all over, until a few months ago.

frustrated with having no control.....
sue in ne replied to Saraboo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Saaaboo, I undersand. My DH is diabetic and does the same thing. I slowly started substituting thing when I cooked; broth for butter in Mashed Potatoes, or cut the butter/ oil by 1/3 to 1/2 . no difference in taste or looks. I used Low fat sour cream in a dish and DH never knew. I undersand about the high salt; remove yur portion and rinse off the sauce or make the sauce with less salt- try lite salt ( tastes like salt with 1/2 the sodium). I,too , leave when the sweets are around. These ideas don't always work but many times they do. if Step father is a smoker, he will be less likely to taste the substitutions, unless you tell him. If step father treats everyone terrible, maybe it is time to find something to do outside of the house- walk the dog, do the shopping or gardening, get a part-time job, do volunter work. Also growing your own vegetables improves the flavor of any dish (and has less sodium). -
I undertsand the frustration, lost and regained major weight 2X before. I pull the too big clothes out of the closet and box them. About every 3-6 months I give them to good will , etc. ( by then I am sick of the box) I have a few ugly big items to remind me where I started (has to fit on 1 hanger). I don't get rid of all items in the size I just dropped ( for times when non- binding helps, e.g. bloating) i also dig the next item out of my 'saved' clothes or buy 1 pair of slacks for work- in the next size smaller - something to work towards. Yes, stuff is still, too big, but not that big. And I can take my time 'giving up' the item.
