    Labor Day Challenge

PC broke down on me a few weeks ago, haven't been checking in. Ready to get started again tomorrow! CONGRATS to everyone, you're doing great! Quick edit, checked my original LD goal and I reached it this morning!! :scared2: 18lbs down, woo! Let's keep it going

What is your favorite non carbonated beverage?

Iced tea with a bit of frozen fruit for ice cubes, and ice Water with cucumber. Used to love Crystal Light pre-surgery, but now it gives me crazy indigestion. Soy and almond milk, especially the vanilla and chocolate flavors, are also very yummy, and good for mixing Protein powders if you use them.

  6. Hey all! I was wondering if anyone had any information or experiences to share regarding plastic surgery procedures done through a residency program or teaching hospital. How to go about applying for surgery, any requirements you had to meet, cost, overall experience, etc. Any info would be much appreciated!

Hey all! Always looked forward to the day I could post in this thread  As of this morning, I am just barely over 10mos. out of surgery, and 100lbs. down! While I do have a quite a bit to go before reaching my long-term goal, having lost this 100lbs. makes the rest of the journey seem much more achievable!

    Is this normal??

Most likely, it's just gas pains from the gas they pump into your body during surgery, and it's completely normal. I was banded two days after you, and while it has eased up a bit, I'm still having those same pains on and off. From what I've gathered, the gas relief medications don't work because the gas isn't intestinal, but sitting in your abdominal cavity. Generally, it's suggested to get up and walk around a bit to shake it loose. I've also read, and one of my nurses recommended, rocking gently in a rocking chair to help. We know how you feel -- it's definitely not the most pleasant feeling, but will be worth it in the long run :sneaky:
  12. Hey there, I've been checking out some bandsters around my age and found your profile -- your photos are amazing, you're gorgeous!

Sharp pains in the rib area??

I would guess that you're having gas pains. I'm only three days out, but the gas pain I've had has been hellish. Try walking around a bit, or if you have a rocking chair, gently rock back and forth. That has helped me a bit with the pressure.

    August 28, 2009 Band date!!

Meeeee! I know what you mean, it seems the days are going so slow... totally worth it, though! Are you on a pre-op diet? I started all liquids on Wednesday. I've been good, but my insides are another story
