Hi ShelleyBelley, I am post op now (VSG surgery was 2/22) and would love to help out. Can you give us a little more information about your procedure and progress so far?

Such varying experiences on here I see. I was sleeved on 2/22/23 and am completely on all normal foods even a few days before the 4 week mark. I do have to separate eating and drinking. It is amazing to have control over food. Felt amazing to have one slice of pizza and be able to say no to more. I actually miss drinking a 'big ole chug' of liquid a lot more than eating! I have had a few doubts along the way but constantly remind myself that I was never able to consistently stay at a lower weight for the first 40 years so why do I think I could do it now without the sleeve...."food" for thought!

I am definitely missing my marks on protein, mostly because I just want cold, sugar-free sports drinks and my energy is just fine so far. I have been forcing myself to consume more protein drink. If I were actually getting what I was supposed to, I'd be less happy about the effort 😐

Had my sleeve on 2/22. Excellent experience so far. Manageable pain, am able to get fluids down, and I can definitely feel the restriction. By biggest issue is the lack of savory options I see out there. So far, just microwaved broth which is pretty good but I can't wait for the next phase. No head hunger nor stomach hunger that my liquid diet isn't satisfying. Down about 29 pounds since Feb 1st when I started dieting before my 2 week pre-op LRD.
