whoaaa! you have great progess, lost a lot more than me and definitely have a healthy BMI! you are doing great! i think being tall... i'm 5'10" helps my loss even out a little. :drool: good job mimilou!

banded 10/7/08 before 265lbs after 219lbs

hello everyone! i haven't been on here in a very long time but i wanted to check in! i was banded 10-7-08, and my weight was 265 day of surgery. i am now at 219, and feeling much healthier. a little slow, but definitely in the right direction! everyone looks great! keep up the good work!!

Just had my third fill yesterday, and noticed a little pain when drinking. I have had zero restriction up until now, and to drink liquids I need to go very slow. I was up most the night with tightness and gas moving around my band...But I've also had a bronchitis for the past week. What do you think? Taking the two hour voyage back to the hospital to get unfilled, or wait to see if it evens out? I have 5cc in my 10cc band, and I'm self pay which means I have one more free fill until I have to start paying for them.

yeah, that's what i'm made to do right after a fill, and i gulped it down fine...it just got more "swollen" or "tight" a day after...i think you all were right. i'm able to drink..just very slooowly. i ate some malt o meal and it went down fine. ill just give it some more time. thank you!!

thanks..i think i'll do that. i'll cancel my unfill appt...i think this swelling will go down. :thumbup:

hello everyone :grouphug: i was banded on oct 7th, so i'm 2 weeks out today. i have healed well and i'm feeling great. i can feel my little port which is about two inches up, and to the right of my belly button (right under my largest incision, naturally)... i get that...but about two inches up and to the right of my port...i feel a much larger 'bump' (almost feels like a swollen muscle or something)..just wondering if this is normal for lap band? i was thinking it might be my stomach or something, but i think the stomach is more to the left. it doesn't hurt at all, and i've had no problems whatsoever...my appt for my first fill is november 18th, so ill definitely ask then..but just wondering if any of you could had something similiar and already found the answer.

i feel as though i healed very quickly, and was back to "normal" after the first week. i never had restriction, never have had anything get stuck...so i feel like i have no band at all. managed to shed about 14 pounds just on will power. my 1st fill is Nov 20th.

agreed, i exude happiness! it's leaking from my pores i'm glad you are so happy!

my surgeon said eating mashed potatoes and other higher calorie foods are okay when you are in the healing stages. on my soft food list aka (food you can cut with a fork): -soft baked meats -canned tuna, chicken, salmon -cottage cheese -low fat cheeses -eggs -refried beans -grits -casseroles -canned fruit no syrup -no sugar added applesauce -canned cooked veggies -malt o meal! my favorite

yes! that's exactly what it feels like...egg shaped...as to wear the port feels like quarter sized. hmmmm??

my surgery day was oct 7th 2008. i had check in at 6 am. my dad and my grandpa were awesome enough to be there for me, throughout the whole process. i got undressed, and into a gown, the nurses came in put compression socks on, then the anesthesiologist who put in my IV and talked to me to make sure i'm alright for the anesthesia. it took about an hour for my surgeon to come in and talk to me, after that everything went fast. they put my hair up in a cap, injected IV with the anesthesia...and i remember joking with the nurses as they wheeled me into surgery. i woke up with the recovery nurses who were so sweet, injected IV with pain medicine. i felt great until i had to get up and walk around a few hours later...the pain started to creep back in, but it wasn't so bad. was up and outta the hospital at around 1 in the afternoon! had a tough time for about 3 days..slept it all away. 2 weeks post op now and feeling back to normal and great! :grouphug: would do it again in a heartbeat.
