Are We Ready For A Woman VP?

Back at ya...do you actually believe everything from the RNC? Let's face they both want to get elected and are going to tell you whatever to do so, that's politics. Who here really thinks they are changing anyone reading this thread's opinion? The Reps post to get props from their fellow Reps and annoy the Dems and visa versa. We all seem to be members of the choir and just preaching to each other. ENOUGH with Bush politics...vote change....vote Obama

Are We Ready For A Woman VP?

Wow Divamom, I find your comment to be a big red flag... I am amazed that you don't even realize how racist of a comment you just made. Your comment is a dangerous stereotype that comes across incrediabily ignorant. I'll try to believe in your positive intentions and hope you posted that before thinking about what you were saying. If that was exactly what you thought...then I second Stevegoad's Ron White quote.
  3. Sorry Plain I don't quite follow the "doesn't work" comment. My comment was more in regards to how each side attacks the other whenever the situation suits them best. Rep would be doing the same thing with a different negative spin if the rolls were reveresed.
  4. Froggi, I was keeping up with that thread and I couldn't take it anymore (too many conservatives for me). As far as Palin's daughter goes I really don't care if her daughter is pregnant and I don't think that alone effects Palin's ability to lead. However, I think the whole situation is rather hypocritical. Had it been Obama's or Biden's daughter the Republicans would be screaming "see those crazy liberals don't believe in family values..." But when the tables are turned the tone changes and it's more like "she sure is a real person and how great it is she chose life" I will say I feel sorry for her daughter as she isn't running for VP but her teenage life is on display for the whole world. I think Palin is free game but leave her daughter alone. I personally am far more concerned with the outcome of the abuse of power issue with her ex brother-in-law. Keep up the good fight

Hi Cidconn22!! Congrats on your surgery. I am in the early stages of the process, I just sent off my packet last week. Where did you have your surgery, who was your doc, were you happy with your team? Take care!!
  6. No look at Potector above. Probably created the profile just to post the ignorant response.

Are We Ready For A Woman VP?

I think to say she has more experience that Obama is quite a stretch. Maybe you meant that she has more experience being a beauty queen or a newscaster, to which I would agree. If you are saying she has more experience being a politician then I don't see it. While yes you are correct she has held some sort of public office longer than Obama, but to say that experience qualified her more than his is silly. She was on the city council of Wasilla (population < 6,000) from 92-96 and mayor of the same city from 96-02. Then govenor of Alaska (population 683k) for 2 years. Obama was a member of the Illinois state senate (population 12.9 million) from 97-04 and the US senate since. Not to mention he received his undergrad from Columbia and graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law. If you want to make the McCain vs. Obama experience argument then you have a good case but Obama vs. Palin just isn't there.

Are We Ready For A Woman VP?

We are certainly ready for a female VP even a female president.........just not this VP. I know this will not be popular with some but Palin sure seems like a token choice by McCain. I mean come on...he picked her b/c she is a female and as a female I find that insulting. If this was Mr. Palin from Alaska with the same experience there is no way in heck he would be on the ticket. That's almost like saying woman can't have Hilliary so they will vote for the next available female, we are smarter than that. For McCain's "heart beat away" candidate he had far better choices and I believe the public will continue to call BS on this one.
  10. I think Obama is amazing!! I have been a big fan since the 2004 convention speech. I am one of the millions of first time campaign contributors and truely believe in his message of change. Just as I am sick and tried of being fat I am sick and tired of how our government is ran and this glass half empty mentality. Why not have "hope for change"? I see McCain as a Bush clone and it scares me. My favorite word from Obama's speech was "ENOUGH".

    Louisville Surgeons

Maybe give Suburban another shot, they have never had a lap band death. Dr. Geller did mention they have had 1 gastric bypass death on an individual with extreme circumstances. While I am probably going with St. Mary's I was impressed with what appeared to be the level of precaution Dr. Geller takes with all his patients. This may be the same with all Norton docs. I think that because before surgery they make you see a heart & lung doc and they make you stay the night is positive. I personally thought Dr. Geller's presentation was much more informative and really laid out the facts for you to make a decision and Dr. Lusco's was more a sales pitch (although a good one since I did pick them).

I too am in the research process. I attended Norton's seminar last week and St. Mary & Elizabeth's yesterday. Dr. Geller presented at my Norton seminar and he was great and very informative. I think I am going with Dr. Lusco as I really liked him. They seem to hold your hand a bit more during the process. Have you been to any other groups seminar?
