    ESG Surgery 03/14/23!

@L. Knight Happy to hear your surgery went well and you are doing great! I have a zoom call with my nutritionist tomorrow, looking forward to it, have some questions answered, etc. Just found out I have a work trip coming up in two weeks, it's only for 2 days so that's not too bad but for all the crushing of pills and sipping involved, may pose to be difficult. It's one thing to work in your own company's building but going into another agency - not sure I feel comfortable excusing myself to crush some pills and mix them and sip/gag them down-lol. Six weeks can't come fast enough! How are you doing with getting your fluids in? Doing ok?

    ESG Surgery 03/14/23!

@L. Knight Things went ok, it's a full time job doing all this "sipping and crushing"! LOL How are you doing since your surgery!?

    March 23 buddies yet?

😀YES! Mine is booked for March 14th! I'm having ESG done in Boston at Bingham and Women's Gastro. So excited! And nervous! Congrats to everyone slated for March! So happy for everyone and also so happy to see so many people to share this journey with! 😀
  4. 'm so excited (nervous, anxious and scared too) that my ESG is in 15 days!! 🙌 I have put having WLS for soOOOo long, it's very surreal that it is so close. I have been stockpiling protein shakes, powders, soups and have all my supplements and medications in order. I feel as though I am ready for this but am still unsure how I will be able to abide by the strict protein intake for the 45 days as it (and I"m sure all protocols require everyone) me to drink 8oz of protein every other hour from 8am to 9pm and water on the off hour. I work in an office setting that doesn't allow me to have food liquids at my desk (secure location) and have to excuse myself to the break room for food. Breaks are not every hour and I can't imagine I can guzzle the protein drinks in less than 5 mins. I will have to be creative?! It's going to be a LONG 45 days! I'm thinking of using the protein waters, has anyone every had any of them? Any suggestions on any of them? Thanks! 😀

    Concerned about meds

👍UPDATE! My upcoming ESG surgeon's PA just changed my BP meds to a medication that can be crushed! I'm nervous as I have been taking the same BP medication since I was 16 years old. But- as @The Greater Fool and @Arabesque previously stated, my meds will probably have to be changed once I start to lose weight.

    Concerned about meds

Tek, Thank you for your response. I was also curious if my pharmacist might have some insight on this as well.
  7. I'm scheduled to have my ESG next month and I reached out to my primary care physician to see about if my BP meds can be crushed for the first 8 weeks and she said they cannot be (they are extended release) and she is not willing to change my meds since I have been on these since I have been 16 years old. I'm not sure what to do... I'm sure there have been others who have had surgery with this issue??
