Hey y’all so I just got cleared from pysch and nutrionist. I already took my THC test my physc is just waiting on a letter of support from my doctor. How long do y’all think it’ll be until they submit to insurance ? I’m excited and nervous and a little scared. I’ve never had any kind of surgery and to be Frank I’m a little bit of a hypochondriac. 

Absolutely not. I was already obese I was off by 1 point for 40 bmi. In the last 2 year because of stress and anxiety and depression I gained 45 pounds. I did phertamine I did weight loss shots I worked out I ketod just kept coming on. When I went to the doctor I went thinking I had some kind of diabetes or hormone issue she referred me to bariatic

How long do you have to have your 40 BMI to qualify. I recently hit mine in March. And I’ve been doing this entire process since then. Just had my endoscopy yesterday one more dietician appt and one more physc. All other tests have been completed. Do you think BCBS NC will have issues with this. IVe been obese for well over a year really my entire life.

All my first initial appts have been via zoom they record my weight at 222 and today I went to my dietician appt. She weighed me and usually I’m like 221-220. Today I was 219.8. Which lowered my bmi to 39.9 but I know Tomorrow I’m going to wake up 220-221 again. What can I do ? I don’t want to unqualify because of it. I have another appt tomorrow with my primary for my EKG. Will they consider that weight too ? My weight today kept fluctuating between 220-219 she just chose the lowest weight. What do you guys think ?

Does anyone know which weight they will use for presentation to my insurance

Hey guys !!! So they ordered a thc test for may I’m a light smoker maybe 1-2 a week if that. I haven’t smoked in about two weeks. And even then it was a few puffs that’s it. How long should it take for me to clean out my system from thc ?

Oh wow a month for that ?? That’s so crazy well I would smoke hookah. But it wouldn’t be consistent every other day. I actually quit in December and smoked on and off. I’m going to get some strips !

My pathway advisor just sent me 10 attachments and all the stuff I need to track and daily habits and everything I know this is going to be to help me form a healthy habit prior to surgery but boy it is overwhelming. Anyone feel this when they started their process I’m excited but nervous.

I will for fire ! I think I’ll know sometime in may. Has it been hard to maintain your weight? I’m right at the 40.6 bmi. I can’t go over at all !

Yay ! So exciting how have the diet appts been ? I don’t have any required diet appts just regular check ups for tests. My pathway advisor said sometime in end of may - June !!!

I think I am going to do my due diligence and do the same ! I rather have everything organized that way I do a lot better on paper than an app. So weird right lol going to Walmart for sure

Have you looked into some natural herbs for the pancreas. I really don’t know much about how it will be absorbed with the sleeve and all but the teas I know for liver and pancreatic function are amazing

Well everyone’s experience here definitely made me change a perspective on this. I really never heard of robot assisted surgery’s that much. I’m surprised !

My first visit ! My consultation was today and it was so easy and exciting. The LNP explained everything to me told me about my surgeon and what to expect the day of surgery. She said most insurances require 3-6 months but my booklet plan doesn’t say anything about any time. It says it’s at the discretion of the surgical team. I already had a blood panel and thyroid done in February so I am good to go on that ! Only thing is getting an ekg with my primary have her sign off on surgery then the nutritional visit the physc evaluation & endoscopy. I am hoping to have surgery by end of may 🙌🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

I honestly put up boundaries with people and if they can’t respect them I limit the time I spend around them. You’re in such a great space in your life ! Be proud and continue to do everything that is best for you !

Thursday is my consultation guys. I’m so nervous 🥲🥲 idk what to expect from it but I am ready ! I have all my insurance info ready. They have basic requirements: BMI of 40 , my understanding of my life change , having family or a support system , a nutritional evaluation , a psychosocial-behavioral evaluation and appropriate medical work up. Chest x ray endoscopy pre op labs and a ecg. My out of pocket max is $1100 🥲 Whew !
