Hi there. Just wanted to let ya know that I got insurance approval and am now just waiting for the surgeons office to call and set a date. Apparently I have a Hiatal Hernia and they will repair that when they do the lap rny. Let ya know when I get the date.
How are things coming along for you?

Hi there. Hope all is well in our neck of the woods. How's that tooth doing? How's that fill doing for you?
I heard from Hills Physicians today. They said that I was approved for everything the doctor requested which was lap rny and the hiatal hernia. Hiatal Hernia? I didn't even know I had a hiatal hernia. So any way I guess now I just wait for the surgeons office to call and schedule my date. Woohoo.

I'm glad the fills and restriction are good for you. I am sorry about the root canal. I know how you feel I've had a couple myself. For me the first day was the worst and I think my jaw hurt more than the tooth. It'll be sensitive for a few days maybe a week. Then you'll be as good as new.
I am excited but nervous about getting the call. I'm not sure what I'll do when it happens. Right now I'm in that preparation stage. You know still not a complete reality. Then when they call me I'm gonna be like "yikes". But yikes in a good way (I guess).
Take care of that tooth and yourself. Talk soon. Teresa

Hi There Terry.
I just called the center to see what the next steps were and she said they'd call me regarding the results. I asked if any results had come in yet and she said "no". Soooo I guess the holiday kinda set them back a little and maybe the type of tests I had done also. I hope this happens quickly. I am so ready to have the surgery done and out of the way so I can start my new life. I just feel that I have been waiting for a year now. Making changes but still waiting.
I am so excited for you and your weight loss. You are doing a great job. How's the hunger? How is the fill doing for you?
Well I'll let you know as soon as I hear something from the center. Teresa

Hiya Terry. How'd your visit with Dr Kim go? So tell me how much have you lost? Sounds like your doing well with the amount of sizes you've gone down, You go girl! I'm so happy for you.
I had EGD and ultrasound done on the 16th I was so dreading the EGD but it was a piece of cake. So now I'm just waiting for the office to call with results or appointment to see Dr. U. Hopefully it goes by quickly I am ready now. I'll keep you posted. You do the same. Hope all is well. Teresa

I saw Dr Upadhyay. Happy birthday to you also. I did the ultrasound and EGD on Friday. Of course the ultrasound was easy but I was so afraid of the EGD (done for rny) but it was a piece of cake. I'm so glad that is over. Now I guess I just wait for results and to be scheduled to see the Dr again. The last time I asked they said that I'm looking at surgery possibly February or early March. Wow it's getting close quick. And your right behind me. woohoo.

Hi there. I am excited to be getting closer kinda scared though. The 28th is my 40th birthday. Which doctor are you scheduled to see?
-
EGD and Ultrasound. I wonder how much longer after that I have to actually have the surgery done. I am a getting excited but scared too. I don 't look forward to the pain. I hear the rny surgery is quite unpleasant at first. But I suppose that is to be expected considering they are re-plumbing. I am so looking forward to being healthier in the long run though.
How much weight have you lost so far? How's everything going for you?
-
Hi Terry, just wanted to update you on what's happening with the surgery for me. I decided that I will take the doctors recommendation and have the rny done. It took a lot of research and hard thinking to lead me to that decision but I do believe that it will be best for me. I am scheduled to have the last two test done on the 16th of Jan. I will let you know when the next step comes along.
I hope all is going well for you and your new life. I hope you are feeling well. Let me know how all is going. I hope to hear from you soon. Teresa

Hello there. Just checking in to see how everything is going for you. As for me I have decided to go with what the doctor recommended and have the rny. So on the 16th of this month I will be having the last 2 test for that done than take it from there. Take care. Keep me posted on how all is going. Teresa

Congrats on your insurance approval. Are you scheduled to see the surgeon yet? I'm sure it will all work out just fine.
Yeah I was kind of expecting the rny thing, because of my insulin resistance mainly and also the family history. I am not positive that I will go that route though. I think I should because he is the surgeon and I don't want to go thru wls and fail. I need to get this weight off to be healthy. But I want to stay healthy. So the whole malabsorbtin thing scares me. I will research in some more and make a decision of a lifetime.
You take care and keep me posted on your journey. Teresa

Hi there Terry. Hope all is well for you. I saw the Surgeon yesterday. He said that the RNY is probably the better surgery for me, since I have pcos with insulin resistance and a family history of diabetes. I was almost certain that I wanted to get the lapband done, but had a feeling he would say that all along. I wan to do whatever is gonna get this weight off and make me healthy again. I am so miserable. Now on top of that misery I'm confused. My bmi as of yesterday is 45 (was 48 when I started all of this) and he want's me to be at 40/41 before the surgery date. So I have to lose 25 lbs. As far as surgery dates we are probably looking at March or April. Yup more waiting. Well at least that gives me a chance to get that 25 lbs off. I don't want an open surgery for sure. I hope you are doing well and keep in touch. Teresa

Well hello there Laurie Jean. Thank you so much for thinking of me. yes I did see the surgeon today. He told me that I might want to consider RNY since I have pcos and family history of diabetes. I'm not sure what to do now. I thought I was for sure that I'd go with lapband but he did make a few good good points. I'm so confused. My husband says to do lapband because it is less invasive and reversable. I think he has a great point. I just want to be thin. I want to do whatever is going to get this fat off. I don't have to decide right away since my surgery may not be until march or april anyway. I have to lose an additional 25 lbs before then also. So only time will tell.
How are you doing? Where are you in your journey? Anything new happening for you? Are you still doing the yoga? Well you take care too and I hope to talk to you soon. Thanks again for thinking of me. Teresa

Wow your doing great with your weight loss! I am so happy for you and proud of you. After Christmas would be a great time to go shopping for your new clothes (sales + gift card) hehe. Keep up the great work.

Cool Beans! I didn't think that they'd ask those types of questions I just wasn't positive HeeHee. Didn't wanna take any chances. I guess I'll take one of my girls or my dad then. I am looking forward to the visit. I am crossing of the days as they pass on the calendar. How are you doing with the added fill? Is everything still staying down? Are you able to eat a lot or do you have good restriction? So weight is your weight loss to date since the surgery? Keep in touch I enjoy sharing with you. Teresa

Hi there Mandy, I think you look great. I understand where your coming from though when I was your age I felt uncomfortable with my weight. Now I look back and think "what the heck was I thinking, I looked good". I don't think you have to worry about trying to get wls, I think you would be happy with just working out more and cutting down on some of the junk food if you eat any, then tada you'll be more fit. But in my opinion you look just fine. It is wise of you to do research on it since you are considering (don't need it) but also to be supportive for your friend. Good luck to you and your friend.

I'm glad everything is going so well for you. I can't wait to get to the point that you are. I am really excited about making the next step.
Chili sounds good on this cold Sunday. We are just getting over the cold here at our house. It's at the point where everybody has that annoying hacking cough. But we are recovering well. Hope you don't get it. Take your vitamins and lots of fluid and protein.
It's such a relief to hear you had no pain during your fill. I'm not scared of needles but I remember when I had my last child I had to have an amnio and although they numbed the area before sticking that huge needle in I still felt it a little. It was more of a burn and pressure than pain.
So where did your .5cc go? Why did you lose it? Is that normal? Good to hear you have good restriction. Keep in touch. I'll let you know how my appt goes and keep you updated on my progress.

Hi Terry, I am so thankful for your quick response. I keep think oh man I only have a few more weeks to get that weight off. Now in just one week I see the surgeon. So far I've played with the same 10 lbs. I hope I can get a few more off before next week. I will really go at. Thanks again for your response. How it everything going for you at this point? How are you feeling?

Hey there Terry, I had a question for you. Did you lose your 10% by the time of your 1st surgeon consult or by the second? or surgery date? I have my first consultation coming up on the 22nd and gained a few pounds. Your input will help a lot. Thanks Teresa
