I was the same way about not telling anyone. I did tell my Mom because I knew I would need help with my 6 year old because I'm a state over w/no family around and I'm pretty tight when it comes to my child. Well I told her about a month prior but only told her laproscopic surgery and then she later asked what kind. So I just told her the truth. YEA I heard the lecture and how I was doing it on my own before & can do it again. But I just had to let her know that this is what I needed for me and that my mind was made up. Both of my parents are fit & it's hard to believe when you see both my sister and I that we are so over weight. Well bottom line is she left it alone and then she started to do the research for herself so she can help me along the way.
I was not going to tell my ex-husband simply because he loves me fat (I think so nobody else would sneak a peak;-) but he was nosy one day and say my approval letter so I told him to. So after he got over himself he came into agreement with me when he saw I was not changing my mind.
Tomorrow will be 1 full week after my surgery and I see my nutritionalist and can't wait to get on the scale. I'm getting around great e'rybody is different but my theory is go in swinging w/a positive attitude about e'rything. CALL THAT THING OUT with no if's or but's about it. Don't listen to other people's horror stories. So far I have experienced almost completely the opposite of what I have heard. I'm truly blessed and so are you.
So be patient do what you suppose to do and always remember who is in charge.
