The new generation Lap Band was the way to go. That's the band I will be getting also. I like that it is pre-filled with 3 cc at the start.

Hey Teresa - I know you can hang in for a few more months until you get your surgery. (just keep moving forward) When you go in for the nutrition and exercise this Nov 21 I bet it will get your motivation up and running again.
I to am having a hard time losing weight right now. heck I'm just having a hard enough time trying to maintain my current weight every month. as for my exercising I only do that one day a week and that's the Yoga. I have a dog and have also been doing extra dog walks for her. but that's about it for the exercise. I'll check in with you again soon.

Hi Teresa - My Insurance is with Blue Cross HMO with Hill Physicians Medical Group. My doctors office is right next door to Dr Upadhyay office. Hills has me seeing either Upadhyay or one of the other doctors in his group to do the surgery. I wont know for sure until after early Dec08. Oh my this is a long wait. I must say I'm getting board now with the process now that I have done all my prep work. I go to the monthly group meetings just to stay in touch with what I'm working towards. I go to my 5th weigh in with my Nutritionist Nov 7th after that one more month. I know! I'm so obsessed with this 6 month wait!
Are you done with your 6 month weigh ins?
Hey, take care - talk to ya soon

Oh Teresa you are so right about the Blaaah's this month! I'm up and down myself. The Yoga class I'm taking is just for larger women so I'll fill more comfortable going. As far as having the surgeon consultation, my insurance wont let me until I complete the 6 month weigh in's with my Nutritionist. My last weigh in will be Dec 1 and after that I will be on them so fast to get in to see my surgeon they wont know what hit them! So I'm like you - just keep moving forward.

Teresa - I'm taking a yoga class starting this Wed. Should be fun. That's what I've been doing lately looking into an exercise program to join. My Nutritionist got me all fired up to do some yoga. I'm glad you are doing well. Anything new with you?

Hi Teresa - Thanks for your email. I really enjoyed reading it.
We are very in-sink on so many topics. I will continue to try different types of foods and drinks because you are right I need to get ready mentally. People say changing the way you think of food is the hardest part. So I'm still doing good even if I don't lose weight every month. I will be starting up at the gym this month so I'm sure that will help.
When I started all this I thought OH! six months is so long. I finally excepted it and was happy I had to go thru the 6months with the nutritionist. I have learned so much. But when I found out a few weeks ago that I would have another three months before surgery I was in shock. I'll be fine, its just that I wasn't prepared to hear that. I really thought it was just a few weeks for surgery after the 6th month weigh-ins. Sorry I had to vent a little. In the end I will stick with it as long as it takes however many months.
So It looks as if we may be having our surgery around the same time. I will stay in touch with you over the months to see how things are going. Please feel free to write me the good the bad and the ugly since I'll be going thru the same stuff.
take care.

Hello gottaloseit
It's nice to have you on my friends list .
Yes I'm doing everything thru Oakland Alta Bates. Its great since I live in Oakland and the bariatrics program I think is one for the best around. I'm told if everything goes good I will be looking at an early March surgery date. I'm going to do everything I can to bump that to a Feb date. I have almost 4 months weigh-ins with the nutritionist under my belt. That part goes sooooo slow!
I have been trying different foods and drinks this month and I have to say I did not lose not even one pound. You however had a great month, 7 pounds is wonderful! great job!!! I know the waiting game really sucks!!! When do you think your surgery month will be?
keep in touch

Hi TQUAD64
I talked to Myra and she said that I have to wait until my last 6th month weigh in. My last one will be on Dec 8th. I will be able to see the surgeon after that. Myra did say Im probably looking at a March surgery date. I was so wanting to have it in late Jan. Boy this does take a lot of time! I want the surgery today but I know its good for me to wait and get my head ready first. Im really exited for you. Your so close to your date
I too have been going back and forth from Lap band to the gastric by pass. I have as of today decided to do the Realize Band.
My task now is to try and find a protein drink I like. most of them taste like crap!
