You can pick up a lot of germs in the hospital. Hopefully, they're wrong about it being strep.

It's happened several times in the last week, I get extremely weak and lightheaded- like I'm going to pass out. The first time was walking up the stairs and then it happened again today in the shower. I've been walking, so it's not every time I am active. I'm thinking of either blood pressure or lack of fluids. Is this normal? Should I talk to my team? I'm almost a week out from rny

Tomorrow, May 1st, is the day. I check in at 7:30. Pray or wish me luck; whatever is your jam, I'd appreciate it. I'm a bit nervous and so very ready. "See" y'all on the flip side.

Things are going well and getting better each day. I'm still having some pain, but nothing that's unmanageable. Thanks for checking in!

I feel so alone in this journey rn. I'm struggling so much. Did I do the right thing?

Interesting. They should have done that. Hopefully things get better for you.

Oh my gosh, YES! -
Yikes! Please keep an eye on yourself so you don't get dehydrated. Did they do the swallow test to make sure you weren't leaking from your new stomach?
-
I'm surprised they discharged you. I had to make water goals before they would release me. Try different temperatures of fluid. I preferred warmer drinks to cold.

First off, I want to say you're not alone. I'm only a few weeks post op, so I cannot yet provide answers to what you're going through, but I can be a friend. There are many people on here, though, that can give advice, support, and answers to your questions. -

Keep going! You got this! -
I got a wedge pillow for the bed because I knew I'd be more comfortable in my room. I only needed it a few nights and graduated to a body pillow I could stuff under my stomach and knees. I'm a week and half out and sleeping normally, for the most part. Getting in and out of bed hasn't been overly hard for me once I got home. I understand the kiddos though. Maybe a pillow over the stomach for a bit. I really don't like sleeping in the recliner because it kills my hips.

Loose Skin Concerns* Please help if you have experience

In my mind there is always plastics. -
Thanks, everyone. It's so hard right now but it's nice to know it's part of the process and me not flying off the rails.

Everyone knows. I just don't think they know how to respond. Especially my husband.
-
I guess it could be a number of things. My original surgery date was canceled because they overbooked the OR. It could be blood work or other test. Doctor schedule. Insurance. Who knows. If you're doing what your supposed to and Insurance is cleared, I wouldn't worry too much.

Thanks! The sipping never stops. Or at least that's how it feels at the moment. I know one day it'll be more normal. Best of luck on your surgery next week.

I’m trying to plan for my down time and hospital stay

For me, I just didn't want it. I had no desire to drink in the hospital. I had to as part of my discharge requirements. Now, if I drink too much at a time, I feel a lot if pressure that is uncomfortable. 64oz is a lot of fluid to take in when you're stomach is so small and still swollen. Some people say the fuild goes right through their stomach. It doesn't for me. I can comfortably do 1.5 oz of fluid every 10-15 minutes. I am literally drinking my entire waking hours. -
That's a lot to deal with. Only you can answer that question. Think about why you started this journey in the first place. Everything will work out. Best.

Thanks! I was just telling my husband that this is such a mind game. I'm not physically hungry at this stage, but oh man, my mind sure want to have it's way. And talking myself into taking liquid and powdered medicine everyday has been a real challenge because they make me feel sick. Whoever said wls is the easy way out has zero clue all that's involved.
