if so, what did u eat? did u have complications later?

i also had my surgery in Sept. and i have lost exactly 30lbs. i'm glad to see ppl around the same number b/c i swear i was behind the 8 ball...i do feel pressure from my family who somehow think i'm supposed to be dropping 10lbs a day :thumbup:...geez...i didnt gain the weight overnight its still gonna take some time even with the band...i am gonna jumpstart a bit after the holidays and try the 5 day pouch test..

good job ladies...we are on our way now...as for the protein, i too have been having a problem gettin all the protein in but those isopure drinks have 40 grams and they are the best tasting i have come across..i can actually drink a whole one and i started making my jello with them too...i like the alpine punch the best..i mix the jello with 1 part hot water and use a cold isopure for the other part of "water"...i also started drinking the atkins milkshakes with 15g protein..a sista is not tryna lose the hair...lol oh yeah i take a liquid multivitamin everyday...centrum the tastse isnt as bad as i thought it would be..

i let a couple cheese curls melt in my mouth...it scared me so bad (altho i feel fine) that i'm gonna get back on it and not cheat..i just wanted to know others experinces b/c i know i couldnt be the only one with post op weak moments

i started mine right as i was on my way to havin surgery..now thats just mean Mother Nature...it wasnt that heavy which is usual but it lasted longer than normal..more like 5-6 instead of 3-4 days..

i swear to goodness..my class had snacktime today and one lil girl pulled out a bag of cheetos..i had visions of knocking her off her chair and stealing her cheetos...:embaressed_smile:

U're right...i think my frustration is because of how long I have to go before solid food and usually when i am frustrated i will eat and now i cant so now i just gotta get over my feelings which is something i havent really learned to do...i was a self-pay so i really dont wanna mess up "Shabanda" so I will stick to the liquids and try and stay off the scale...thank you for the words of encouragement tho..:embaressed_smile:

Ok so I'm still at the 6lbs loss since surgery 9/8...i must admit I am hungry and i think about food all the time..i have to do this liquid diet for 30 days and i just feel discouraged and hungry i guess...this may sound ridiculous but i'm wondering if the dang band is gonna work for me..i'm hardly taking in any "food" and yet my weight loss is slow or maybe i'm trippin..i'm just frustrated and hungry...now i just called the fill center to make my 6 week appt and she's talkin about, do i know where my port is and can i find it? (no and i havent tried yet) and if the doctor cant find it, i may have to go elsewhere and still pay them the consulatation fee (mind u, the fill center is the closest that wouldnt require me to hop on a plane or drive for several hrs) what the hell kinda doctor is that..u want me to find the port site? geez, u want me to look at an xray, why dont i inject myself while i'm at it....ughhhhh and then she takes my cc # (even tho my appt is 10/20) and says they will charge it 2 days prior to my appt date if they dont hear from me.. rant over...

i was banded on 9/8..not much pain after surgery..no shoulder pain, no throat pain (altho i could have sworn i felt them pull out my tube before i came out of anethesia...this stomach gurgling thing is a bit annoying tho...so far i have lost 5 lbs..

ok i was banded in Mexico on 9/8 and i must admit, i am thinkin about food alot...i have to get the Protein thing down right...i'm still subsisting on chix broth, a little juice, and sugar free popisicles..on surgery date i weighed in at 276 and now i am 271..is that good? for some reason i thought it would be more..the pain and stiffness is pretty much gone..oh yeah i havent had any of the shoulder pain that many others have had..in fact the doctors were amazed..apparently i looked pretty good for someone who just had surgery..after surgery i did have a mishap..i was feeling nausea and the nurse gave me a pill that was supposed to dissolve under my tongue well the pill which had a kind of pepperminty taste made me even more nauseaus and i started wretching but of course i had nothin to throw up and i started panicking b/c i thought i was gonna go move the band or something, so all the doctors rushed in and saw was what was happening and immediately gave me a pain and nausea injection and i felt better..oh yeah the gurgling goin on is a bit weird, i hope that leaves cuz my dogs who sleep with me kept barking b/c they kept hearing the sounds in my stomach...lol oh yeah 1 day after surgery i weighed myself on the scale in the hall of the hospital and it said 279 but everyone told me not to worry..that included the extra gas...so i guess officially i lost 8lbs..i gotta try and not be obsessed with the scale now.. when me and my mom got back from Mexico, my dad had bought us a scrumptious looking sheetcake and ice cream..:? i told him to freeze my piece of cake

ok i just stepped on the scale...actually i did lose about 5 lbs so far and i have 5 days until my surgery date in the words of Tim Gunn to "make it work"

yeah i started but i'm hoping that the one week is good enough..ya know....i can see that i have lost a little tho (but i refuse to get on a scale until the day of surgery) but i guess i'm just petrified that i'll get there and he cant do it so then i've wasted time and money and my mom is coming and she's one of those high strung types..

i'm so nervous b/c Dr. Aceves wants me to do a 1 week pre-op (my surgery is 9/7) and i am petrified that i'll get all the way to Mexico (i'm from VA) and he's not gonna be able to do the surgery...

9!0 I was in Hawaii on vacation with my family and we all woke up and my mom ssaw that I ate 1/2 of a honeybun and was like "what, u're just gonna keep gettin bigger and bigger huh? that hurt me soooo bad that i was just crying and my bro tried to comfort me and i gave her the silent treatment for about 2 days but there was considerable tension in the air with everyone..she has not said anything like that since BUT she is paying for my lapband surgery.. this chick that i ahdnt seen since high school saw me at a Golden Corral (of all places) and here was the convo her: heyyy girl how are u? me: i'm fine, how about u her: girl your face still looks the same, u just got bigger (makes hand motion indicating my breasts are big) me: uh ok (just then, her mom comes up) her: hey ma, look who it is her mom: trying to place my face her: its ________, she's just big now.. what bitch, now if I had pointed out that i see she is still ghetto, then she woulda looked at me like i'm crazy..

only my immediate family knows and i may tell one of my friends, she recently had a tummy tuck and gets it..everyone else will get the "i've just been working out and eating less" spiel which isnt exactly lying anyway..altho i am prepared for the day some nosy person catches me off guard and asks me if i had any weight loss surgery? my canned response will be "(smile)why do u ask? (confused look)" hehe

i looove Lhasa Apsos..one of my doggies is one (the other is a poodle) every time i tell ppl what she is they look at me like :confused2:

I am Shonda I am 32 (bday is 9/21) I live in Virginia I am working on my Master's I am married but separated (no kids) but i have two fluffy white doggies I am getting banded 9/8 I was always a cutie on duty but when i went to college, i steadily gained 10-15 lbs a year and now I have seemed to forgotten who the old Shonda was, but apparently she is buried under fat (hehe), right now I'm a 22/24 and i would looooove to get back to my goal weight of 140 which for me is a 8/10

i was reading another band blogger and she named hers Antonio BANDeras...lol..thats cute..

i changed my date to Sept 8th..i'm now a size 22/24 and i want to be a size 8/10

I am soooo excited...i feel like i'm winning the lottery...its just a great feeling to know that my days of being a big girl are soon to be over...its like a new lease on life :smile2:

hmmm..i have a couple.. ride a roller coaster..i was embarrased last year b/c the i coouldnt fit the bar over my breasts :smile2: go parasailing.. wear my stilletos that have been collecting dust..
