    Sample Menus

As soon as I get up, I go get a cup of hot green tea and a Slimfast Lo-Carb chocolate shake. I take them back to my bathroom. I sip the hot tea and take my morning meds. I also take 2 Fiber Choice Tablets, 2 Max Strength Antacids, and 1 Flintstone Vitamen. I then shower. I get out of the shower and start drinking my slimfast. I put on my makeup and blow dry and fix my hair. By now I am done with the slim fast and my lotion has dried. I get dressed and take my empty tea cup back to the kitchen to prepare myself a cup of oatmeal. I use the Weight Control Cinnamon with hot Water, which I thin down. I add a package of sweet-n-low to it. After eating my oatmeal, I grab a bottled water if I am headed out the door. At lunch, I usually have a Lean Cuisine Meal, or Single serving Tuna with unsweetened applesauce, Light Miracle Whip and some relish., or Non-Fat Cottage cheese with snack size Lite fruit, or Cup of Turkey Chili with a little shredded cheese, or Broccoli Cheese Soup (Like Quizno's or Panera), or 1/2 a Grilled chicken Breast and some Grilled Veggies. Mid Afternoon I eat my Yoplait Nonfat Yogurt. I usually swim for 30 minutes around 3 pm. That is my exercise! dinner - If I cook dinner I eat 1/4 cup of whatever I fix. Example: 1/4 Cup Meatloaf, 1/4 Cup Green Beans, and a 1/4 Cup of Mashed Potatoes. If I don't cook, I eat leftovers or what I usually eat for lunch. Around 8:00 pm I usually have Fiber One Cereal, Skim Milk and either strawberries or blueberries. How much I have depends on how much or little I ate during the day. I use Fitday.com to keep track of my calories, Protein and fiber intake. I eat no less then 1000 calories and no more then 1200 calories per day. My protein intake 60 grams minimum. My fiber intake 25 grams minimum. I don't worry about the carbs because I am not eating Bread or Sugar. Other things I eat sometimes: sugar free Jello with Cool Whip Free, Sugar Free pudding, Canned Spinach with sauted onions and garlic, sugar-free popsicles, deli prepared chicken salad, grilled fish, broccoli chopped and well cooked, Refried Beans, Guacamoli, Vegetarian Baked Beans, Black Beans, 1/2 Baked Potato, 1/2 or less Baked Sweet Potato, Minestrone Soup... Eating out - I ate Chinese last Wendesday. First time since banding. I ate Hot and Sour Soup. I ordered Moo Goo Gai Pan. I ate 4 small pieces of the chicken, all the mushrooms, and 4 peas. It looked like I didn't touch the plate. I took the rest home. The next day I made chicken salad out of the rest of the chicken. Mexican food I usually order one cheese or beef enchilada, small guacamole and refried beans. Other restaurants I either order a cup of soup or a potato with everything on the side. I don't eat sour cream, chives, or bacon bits. I do put a small amount of margarine sometimes and some shredded cheese. I don't even try to eat the skin and I only eat one half of the potato. I don't eat bread, sweets, or anything that is empty calories except a sugar-free jello, or sugar-free popsicle every once in a while. I drink at least 64 ounces of water a day...never with meals. Staying away from the fried foods, bread and sweets has helped most. I never have the food cravings that I use to have. I use to never eat Breakfast. No wonder my metabolism was shut down. Now eating small amounts 4 to 5 times a day really has helped!

    My late great cat "Mouse"

I had to put my cat son "Mouse" to sleep Monday. They just called to tell me I can go pick up his ashes after 2:30pm today. I never cremated a pet before, and I am a bit nervous about going and picking him up in a box. My husband is out of town or I would make him do it. I have only had to bury one of our pets before because my husband was out of town. It was a disaster! I scraped Emmett (cat) up in a shovel (ran over by truck) put him in a plastic bag, then dug a hole under our 300 year old live oak tree for his eternal resting spot. About six months later, we were having a wedding under our tree and was having some landscapping done to make it pretty. The landscaper dug up Emmett. He almost had a heart attack. I guess I didn't dig the hole deep enough. We are not allowed to bury our pets in our yards in The Woodlands, so I am not sure what I am going to do with Mouse's ashes. Should I keep the ashes, or spread them somewhere? His favorite spot was on the couch beside me... not a good place for ashes. We are going back to Shiner this weekend for the last time to move the rest of our stuff...about time moved 5 years ago from there. I could scatter him there under the 300 year old tree if the people who own the house now are not at home. I thought it was best not to tell them our pet cemetery is under the tree. Any suggestions?

    My late great cat "Mouse"

I am very glad I chose cremation after what happend to Emmett. I couldn't bear it if my precious Mouse was disturbed after burial. I also need to do something special with at least one of his blankets. In the picture of him he is laying on one. I cut a large blanket down to small blankets I could wash and always have a clean one for him. He loved his blankets. I would put it in the center of the couch. When I would sit down by him I would pull the blanket with him on it until our sides touched. I could tell he loved it because that is when he would start the love paws. Maybe I should burn one and put it in the box...does that sound weird?

    My late great cat "Mouse"

:cat: Well I broke down in the car after picking up my Mouse. I couldn't wait to open the bag and see what was in it. A tear-jerking letter from the crematorium, and a small pretty pine box (like a small jewelry box). I opened it up and there was a very small bag of ashes label with my name and his. I was surprised how little there was.. I guess 7 pounds of cat only makes a couple of ounces of ashes. I came home and put the letter and box on my mantle where I can see it until I decide for sure what to do with him. It may sound strange, but I am thinking about having a family memorial service when my husband comes home.

    My late great cat "Mouse"

I think I remember seeing a nice picture frame at one of the christian stores to memorialize a pets photo...I will have to get one... I also like the mouse statue idea, and planting his ashes with a plant. I will check with my TWA to see if it is legal. Thank you so much for your support!

    My late great cat "Mouse"

Where can I find out about this? Thank you all for your kind words! I was doing real well on accepting his passing until the phone call today. The rain and sitting on my couch typing without him by my side is really getting to me. l miss my "old man"...my daughter's nickname for mouse. I even miss his slobbering and farting...now you know why he had the "old man" nickname. He sure loved to give me "Love Paws"! Well it is 2:30 time to go get his ashes. :cry :cry :cry :cry

    Family pictures.

That is so funny! I want to get them because my husband has pictures of me in his office at work that were taken before we were married. I asked him why he didn't have any resent "fat" pictures of me... He knew better then to reply to that one! LOL
  15. I was a little blue because I only lost one pound (I know I am an idiot for thinking that way!), so I had my daughter take my pictures so I could see how much my body has changed since my last pics. OK I feel better now! I can see the results. I also cleaned out my closet of everything that doesn't fit anymore. My closet has never been so empty! Now I need some help... By what my PCP told me when I started this journey I should weight between 130 and 140 pounds. That is 20 - 30 pounds less then what I weight now. The difference between the May picture and today's picture is 17 pounds. How much more should I lose?

    Celebrity Twins...

No celebrity look alike for me, but when I first moved to Shiner population 2200 people kept calling me Glo! Finally I asked my hairdresser why people were calling me Glo. She said well you do look like Glo Hagens. I said who is this person and where can I find her. She worked at a local floral shop, not the one I usually went to...l just had to go check her out. I'll be darned if she didn't look just like me. I thought I would cut my hair so we wouldn't look so much alike...Yep she cut hers off about the same time. There was no getting away from my twin Glo. One day I was in the Post Office and a man from my church said to me "How is Mark treating you these days".. I was in a hurry and I said I don't know anyone named Mark and walked out the door. Suddenly I remembered Glo's husband's name is Mark! I felt bad then because he must have thought Glo was sure having a bad day! After I lived there awhile and got involved in Chamber of Commerce, and other Organizations, Glo told me that people were calling her Mary... Now I thought that was funny!
