Sorry Betina, I can see how I confused you. I never cared much for History or Politics. So much fighting and hurting each other! I don't understand war, but I understand that without war we would not have the rights and freedoms we have today. With this thought, would it not be necessary for future wars to continue these rights and freedoms? (This is of course a question from my ignorance)

My first job was at 17. I worked in a retail store called Gipson's (pre-Walmart). My job was to keep clothing bins and racks neat, and to watch for shoplifters. I didn't mind folding the same bras and underwear a hundred times a day. I didn't mind picking clothes up off the floor and rehanging them. I didn't mind locking and unlocking the changing rooms. I really really hated watching people to make sure they were not shoplifting!

Very interesting! I happen to believe that God is in control of everything. I also believe no matter what we do, say, or feel... we can not change the past...so why not just let go of it. Even though I am not so young or single, I know exactly what you are talking about. This happened to me when I was younger and single. I lost a lot of weight and suddenly men were coming on to me all the time. I know a lot had to do with the physical change, but for me the mental change had just if not more impact. I no longer held my head down, I actually made eye contact and smiled! Feeling confident and good about yourself doesn't have anything to do with size unless you choose it. I liked hiding behind my size after my divorce, when I wasn't interested in dating. It was safe, easy, and no one bothered me. When It finally dawned on me that I didn't want to be alone the rest of my life, I got busy losing weight, changing my appearance and changing my attitude.

I have been wearing Bali 2633 Granny Panties for 10 plus years now. What I like is how the legs fit. My problem is the top comes up way too high on me now. I can't find anything even close to the leg in a low rise. Any suggestions? I have to fold them way down on the top so they don't hang out over my new Levi's. +

I met a nice lady today in a line at a salad bar/buffet. I was behind her and picked up only a small plate. She picked-up the platter and small plate. She said your not having much, why don't you get in front of me. I said I am getting a baby plate of food. Then I thought the way I said it she might think I was getting it for a baby, so I confessed to having lapband surgery. She asked my how it was going for me. I let her know it was going great and that I had lost 40 pounds in 3 months. She asked me if insurance paid for mine. I told her no that my BMI was under 40 and only one co-morbity. I told her if I had two they would. She asked me what insurance I had. I told her United Healthcare. She said her BMI is over 40 and she has 2 co-morbities, but BCBS denied her. I felt so bad for her! :angry What is wrong with BCBS! With just losing 40 pounds, my osteo-arthritis has improved, my allergies have improved, my sleeping pattern has improved, and I no longer have border-line high blood pressure. I got all this by investing $15,000.00 into my lapband. We all know the insurance companies negoticate for a better price. Don't you think it would be a good investment for their company to cover this surgery? We are reminded all the time of the billions of dollars in health care costs related to Obesity. Let us have some Preventive Care!!!!! OK, I am through venting now!

Some kind of support group telling you that you will only lose 65%. A real support group would be telling you that you will lose no less then 65% of what you want, and we will help you reach 100%. You need to tell those negative ninnies to try a little positive attitude for a change!

Myself, my daughter, and my best friend are all doing great. I was banded in March, my friend in April, my daughter in May.

You are normal! It hurts! It gets better! I didn't start feeling halfway normal for at least 2 weeks, by 4 weeks I was feeling good, by 6 weeks feeling great!

I got 15 right...not quite dirt, but I am getting there.

I am really tired of people asking me if I am Ok when I start having "issues" as I call them. I have thrown my fork across the room, pushed my chair back, I am holding on to the table so tight my knuckels are white, my eyes are beginning to water and turn red, I have taken a deep breath and trying to hold it as long as I possibly can....and you want me to tell you whether or not I am OK! I would love to shave my head, but I have an ugly head with scars from surgery when I was 4 years old. I think it would be great to wash my head with a wash cloth and not have to blow dry, curl, pony tail, clip, etc...

I have a lot of people tell me they could never get a lapband because they can't stand throwing up all the time. I tell them "I don't throw up all the time!!!! But sometimes I do produce a lot of slime!" ... then they really get grossed out!!

Another NSV in my Levi's! Today I wore my new Levi's to hairdresser. I was there to get my daughter and her friend's hair cut and highlighted. There was a man who came in to measure the windows for tinting. After I paid and we all went to the car, my daughter's friend said "Bobby (DH) better watch out, that guy sure was checking you out." I haven't been "checked out" in a very long time!

I went to Kohl's again yesterday. This time to try on jeans. For the first time in my whole entire life, I bought two pair of Levi's Jeans. Even at my skinniest 100 pounds (1980) I couldn't squeeze my thighs into a pair of Levi's. I know that Levi's come in relaxed fit, boot cut, low ride, and so on now that they didn't have in 1980, but I still got excited about owning my first ever pair of Levi's. I almost forgot to mention... size 10! Pre-band I was wearing Lane Bryant Cords size 20. Toot! Toot! :clap2:

I hear you on $30 for a couple of months. I have so little in my closet that fits now. I felt like I deserved at least 2 pairs of jeans that fit right now even though I am 25 pounds from goal. To ease my guilt, I paid for my jeans with Kohl's Gift Cards that I got free using my Discover Card Cash Back Points. I am glad I got them! I keep staring at myself in the mirror thinking that can't be me...but it is me!
