I had it a few years ago. My foot doctor gave me a big ol' cortizone shot which made it feel better for awhile. He had special inserts made to put in my shoes. Then, I developed Tarpel Tunnel like Carpel Tunnel, but of the foot. I had surgery which cured it. I was still having some Planter Faciitis problems so he took out my blood, seperated it, then injected it into my problem area of my foot. That seem to do the trick. I still wear those darned inserts, but I have been pain free for 3 years now.

After a very bad ten year marriage, I swore to never date or get married again. My husband now of eleven years had to sneak up on me to catch me. We worked together for four years and become best friends...next thing I know I was in LOVE! It was rocky at first and we even broke up for a year, but we were obviously meant for each other. Despite my being scared to death to get married again, we married September 17, 1994. I didn't calm down for two years, but after that everything was great. Now each day just gets better and better. He truly treats me like a Queen, and I admit he spoils me rotten. He has loved me through thick and thin with my yoyo dieting and bouts of depression. I thank God every day for my wonderful husband! -
I have only had: Oatmeal - Weight Control Cinnamon every morning no problems. Hormel Turkey Chili with Beans - Spicy and good no problems.

If you are obsessed with your protein intake, you might be a bandster.
-
If Hot Dogs and Girl Scout Cookies frighten you, you might be a bandster and a member of the Gone for Good Club.
-
If you are always talking about your port and you have never been on a boat, you might be a Banster!
-
Keekahari, You obviously did not take the No Hot Dogs and No Girl Scout Cookies Oath from the Gone For Good Club! LOL A lot of banded people can't eat Hot Dogs without PBing, and Girl Scout Cookies are just evil diet busters. Looks like you are steadily losing weight. Keep up the good work! Mary B.

How did you feel when you woke up from your banding surgery?
maryb replied to BakoGal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Bakogal & Tracylou: will you be banded out patient or in patient? If out patient they will not catheter you before the surgery. -
Thank you Roni! I know what to expect now. I am glad they use the xray machine and the test swallow. I would hate to have to drive back the next day to get an unfill. Mary B.

During my mushies I discovered the Country Crock Mashed Potatoes. You just microwave them. The are like homemade and taste great. Even better if you put some RF Cream of Chicken Soup over it like gravy. It was so good and so satisfing! I find them in the refrigerated section of my grocery store.

I am 4 weeks post-op. I had to bump my meals up to 1 1/2 cups for lunch and dinner so I could cut the snacks and get in my water. My calorie intake today was 1000. I ate dinner at 5:30pm it is almost 8:00pm and I am still feeling full and satisfied. This time yesterday I had to have some more protein at 8:00pm. I get my first fill in 2 weeks.

When I get that hiccup it means I drank or ate too fast. When I was on liquids I got hiccups which turned into dry heaves... not good! Now the hiccup is a sign of a slimey PB.

Congrats! I hope you have a perfect pregnancy and a perfect baby! They warned us at the seminar that we could become Fertile Mertle real easy in our first year on the band.

How did you feel when you woke up from your banding surgery?
maryb replied to BakoGal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
They were trying to wake me up, but I wanted to sleep. When they finally got me to open my eyes. My throat was dry and sore. They gave me ice chips that felt very good on my sore throat. I was then asked if I felt like I could go pee. I said no, I want to sleep. The nurse said if you don't go pee pee we will have to cathter you. So, I said I will try to go pee. Sore from port area walking down to the potty. Only peed a very small amount. She said that is enough, you go home. Before I got half way home I had to pee worse than I ever remember in my life (3 bags of IV fluids). Of course we were on the interstate and my husband didn't want to pull off to look for a restroom. Finally I said if you don't want me to pee on your leather seats with the buildt in seat warmer....find me a bathroom now!!!!! He found me a bathroom. Jack in the Box never looks so good to me. Just as soon as I got home, I went straight to bed. I woke up every 15 minutes to go pee again... but went right back to bed... I was sleepy! -
Yep, I had all that Gas, all that rip & burn feeling in my port area, soreness in my tummy. Everyday it gets a little bit better, by two weeks you should be feeling almost normal. Hang in there!

Mini_me, did you have your fill at the Surgicenter in Houston? That is where I will have mine in 2 weeks. Do they just lay you down and stick in the needle, or do they use the fancy machine to see what is going on inside?
-
I am UHC with 90-10. If they cover my daughter the cost would be $1500.00 in Houston, Texas. I was private pay at $15,000.00. If yours is the same it should be $3,000.00.
