You scared me there not journaling them. I was wondering how you got your fiber in.

I too love them Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Fortunately I became allergic to Peanuts and can't have them anymore. I don't know how you suddenly develope an allergy to Peanuts, but I realized it when I was on the South Beach Diet eating a lot of Peanut Butter. I started wheezeing like a big dog. Allergist told me to stay way clear of all nuts from now on. I don't want to die, so I don't eat them.

Tricia K, I don't see any veggies or fruits on your journels. Is this because you don't like them, or can't eat them?

Hi Texastina! What is your pre-op diet? Mine was Myocel 2 times a day with a oatmeal and yogurt breakfast and a lean protein and green vegetable dinner. The first 3 day were pure agony because I was having to detox from a Girl Scout Cookie binge! 4th day on was a lot better.

Yoda is right! I didn't feel "normal" again until my 5th week Post OP. I still don't know what to do with myself, because I am not entertaining myself with food anymore. Anyone else feel this way? I cringe at the thought of eating out somewhere that might not have anything I can easily eat, or God forbid I would have a PB and not make it to the restroom. My entire day use to be planned around my ladies lunch out with a friend. Now I am a hermit and a really cheap date for my husband. Sorry MelAnne, I got distracted with my selfishness again.

I should have added I am 5'4" tall so my Doctor recommended 1000 - 1200 calories for me and my height. I downloaded www.Fitday.com and it is the easiest way that I have found to keep up with everything. I am far from perfect at this....I hate exercise, so I don't do it most of the time! If I did exercise, I could eat more calories. I do drink my water faithfully and count those calories, protein, and good old fiber.

Melanne, will you please start posting your food journal on this thread: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=5002 Maybe if we can see your journal we can give you some pointers. You do need to make sure you get at least 1000 calories a day. I was only getting 800 at the most for the first few weeks and I felt terrible! Since moving up to 1000 - 1200, I have felt better and consistantly lost 1 - 2 pounds per week. I try to have at least 60 grams of Protein and 25 grams of Fiber. I do not worry about anything but calories, protein, and fiber. I have not had to take anymore Milk of Magnesia since focusing on these three things. After my first fill at 6 weeks, I started having more restrictions and not feeling hungry. I hope this encourages you. I felt pretty down-and-out the Saturday after having my surgery because I was dry heaving until the Doc called me some supositories. I thought I had made the biggest most expensive mistake of my life. I got over it and now I know I made the right choice after all. PS - I love your Sylvester Avator. He is my favorite Looney Toon and I named my Tux cat after him even though she is a girl kitty.

My DH is getting very close to ordering his new sports car. He has been looking at all 2 seater and some 4 seater sports cars on the market. The first car we looked at was the BMW Z4. I told the salesman. "If it were me, I would look no further and buy that baby." Yes, I am the impulse buyer in the family. After many cars and many dealerships and much internet surfing, my husband wanted us to go back to the 1st BMW delearship to look at the BMW Z4 again. So yesterday we went to look again at the BMW Z4. He just about turned that car inside out looking it over. When we left, I asked him if he decided yet. He said "Yes the BMW Z4." I said "Why". He said "It has the biggest trunk." I said "Are you ready to buy it?" He said "No, I have to study over the option brocheur and ask the salesman more questions first." Can anyone guess what my husband does for a living?

Possible solution for PB's and restriction pain
maryb replied to Jersey Jesse's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh yes it is worth it! You don't choke when you PB. You just get a little stuck. Eating too fast, and/or too big a bite can do it for me. Roast beef gave me a PB yesterday. When you first feel that uncomfortable feeling that to me is then followed by burping and hiccuping... the PB has begun. Uncomfortable yes. Horrible no. We have to learn to take small bites and chew chew chew chew before swallowing. -
Do they make them in Diet Coke?

Congrats! I hope you are sipping very slowly! Watch out for that GAS!

www.Fitday.com has an excellent weight chart for setting goals, and the food diary is great if you download the advanced version for $20. If you have Excel, I can send you my Excel weight chart if you want.

Faster! Tell them to back off! If you fill hungry and not restricted, you need a fill. That is why we have the band...to help us not be hungry. Losing 22 pounds is great! My Doc said average 1 to 2 pounds lost a week is right on target. LBT can give support when nonbandsters can't. Don't let anyone pressure you or try to make you feel guilty. You have found hope here!

Glad you are OK and your band is happy and healthy.

A friend of mine said she cramped for a couple of days after the procedure.

OMG P'nut you made me think about something! I am flying on May 23rd. My butt will fit in the seat without rubbing and overlapping the arm rests and I won't have to extend the belt out all the way before putting in on. Woohoo!

Josette, That is a gorgeous dress. I see why you have saved it as your Dream Dress. What a wonderful incentive! Let me know when you order the dress. Maryb

I have a family wedding to go to this Saturday. I found a dress in the back of my closet that I thought would be fine to wear. Today I had lunch with a friend I have not seen in a while. She was telling me that she went to Dress Barn and got some nice outfits for her son's graduation. I have never been to Dress Barn, so on the way home I decided to stop and see if they had something inexpensive I could wear to the wedding instead of my old boring dress. I walked in and noticed the store was split in half. The left side was Women's and the right was Misses. I was confused as to what direction to go. I thought I would start with size 16 and if that didn't fit go up to 18. I asked the saleslady what side had size 16. She said the right side goes up to 16. I walked in and looked around pulling out some dresses to try on. I thought what am I doing over here. I can't wear these small cute dresses. These have waists to them! OH, why not I thought and carried my 3 dresses and 1 slack set in case a dress is out of the question to the dressing room. The first dress I tried on was the display dress. It was black and white and had a white tie belt. Cute and the latest style. I zipped it most the way up but couldn't get that last bit at the top... I didn't know if it was because it was too tight or I just couldn't reach it. I stepped out to find the saleslady. She finished zipping it up. We both looked in the full length mirror...and to my amazement it fit perfectly! I was so pumped I tried on the next one which was a sexy form fitting cutie. Back out to the saleslady, I said this is too much for a wedding. She said no it fit me perfect and looked even better then the first one. Back in I go for #3 dress. This one felt like a nightgown on. Fit but not as nice as the other two. Saleslady agreed with me. Next I tried on the pant suit. Well, I will be darned if that didn't look great too! I bought Dress #1 for church, Dress #2 for the Wedding, and pant suit because I will need something to wear for the trip. I bought the lot for $120...what a bargain! On the way out, I walked through the Women's size side and said my fairwell to waistless tent dresses. I love my lapband!

http://www.tickerfactory.com/ Fill it out, copy BB Code to your signature. Save to your favorites. Then next time you choose from favorites, it should come up to update. Then re-copy to your signature. I have problems sometimes doing this, but I am sure this is the way to do it. Good Luck
