HELP! Did you go to the sleep study in the same building as our dr? I go in tonight and in the pre paperwork it says you have to remove fingernail polish and acrylic nail ( i have them) on your index fingers!!! Did you do this? I don't mind the polish too much, but c'mon, the nail too? I'm not doing it yet, just wanted your take on it. thanks. Kathi

Hi ya, it's me! still reading your blog and loving it. gotta say, i'm not much into yard work, that's what the man is for, but i did pitch in for the new 'self propelled' lawnmower, so i'm doing my part.
It looks like i have a wonderful trip (FOR WORK!) the week before my surgery. i'm going to DISNEYLAND in CA! Wahoooo! I'm guessing it will be mostly liquid diet, i'll get more info on thurs after i see the nutritionist that my surgeon uses. We'll just have to see. There are catered meals for everyday, it is a conference/awards thingy and one of my companies is getting an award that I put them in for! pretty cool, the trip is my reward. I'm GOING.

You go girl! I'm off carbonation too, but the 30 minutes and no drinking is a real tough one for me. I consciously think about it prior to eating and have slowed, but there is NO WAY it is going to take me 30 mins to eat half a cup of food, unless it is taffy!
I do love the staff at this office too and I had the Irving crew to compare them to. I was a bit worried bout the barium too, thanks for the reassurance. I am trying to get things scheduled quickly so i can hold fast on the June 22 date. What is your first name? Is Kinzie your last name or a nickname? I am Kathi. Talk to you later.

How was the support group meeting? What is your next step? I have an appt with Ashley (Nutr) on Thurs afternoon, sleep study overnight Thurs and my upper GI on Friday morning! I'm still thinking it will be June 22 for my banding, and I'm good with that. We'll have to chat more soon. Take care. kathi

I am shooting for June 22nd. I have a sleep study on Thurs night to rule out apnea (I'm fairly certain I don't have it) and my upper GI is on Friday. I too have some other commitments coming up in mid June (Going to Disneyland as a perk for a job award) and am happy with the 22nd date. Glad you got your date and I'm sure it will work out great for you. You'll have to keep me posted. Take care. Kathi

Lovely pics, even with no faces, and is that you in the older photo? Looks like you could be the blonde. I will have to get to the movies soon to see Star Trek, my oldest just picked up a second job at our local theater, so free movies for us (I hope)! Hey BG, the sun is hot in Orlando and we're enjoying our family time. My girls leave tonight then the man and I are heading south to visit friends in Miami and the Keys. It's easy cutting back here, Mom and Dad have virtually NO snacks and i've been drinking lots of water. Hoping to get a bit more sun before we head back to dallas. I have sympathy, but maybe this is the payback for no pre op diet? They just gotta mess with you somehow, right? It ain't right I say. I"m looking at my banding on a Monday, one night in hosp and then going back to work the next Monday. I hope I get some semblance of mushies by then. Have a good rest of the week/weekend. Kathi

K-I"m so glad you had a good meet today. I liked them all. I get to do a sleep study also, it was one of the things not required, but Anne thought it would be beneficial for me, so I'll do it. I don't have a firm date, but I'm gunning for June 22nd. I have some vacation travel in June and this will work out well for me. If we don't meet up sooner, I'll see you at the June support group. have a great rest of the week and I'll be in touch. Kathi

Hey, good for the both of you. I can't make the meeting this month, I'll be vacationing in Florida! I've been there once and also twice at Baylor Irving. I love the group that is conducting the meetings, they are very professional and good at their jobs! I'm am seeing Dr Matin today for the first time. I used Irving for all of my preliminary stuff and after almost 7 months, I have my approval and am ready to set the date! I look forward to seeing you at next months meeting, good luck with your surgery! Tell the wife congrats and stick with it! Kathi

how bout some exercise? walking, will that help any? It is supposed to energize your metabolism, right? Not at all looking forward to no food, . And i need to schedule a colonoscopy...during the liquid diet, after the band, before real food? when will be a good time? I know, I'll ask the DR TOMORROW at my APPT! yeeeehaaww!

Thanks for the note. I tried scheduling an appointment yesterday and did not make much progress. I'll be at it again today and see what happens. I don't want to be a pain and get on anyone's bad side, but I guess my sense of urgency to get this on a roll is not theirs too. Patience is a virtue, I have to keep reminding myself of that! I'm sure we'll meet soon enough. Good luck and let me know how it goes. I think I will want to use the Realize band, I'm sure he'll talk to you about it. Kathi

Congratulations on your decision. I think it will be very exciting to surprise your husband with a new and healthier YOU. I'm sure you can join a support group in the area from your surgeon's office, the best ones all have them. And, you will make lots of friends here too. Good luck and keep positive.

I'm using the Baylor system also and I'm hoping to see Dr. Matin SOON. I have been through the insurance approval process and did everything at the Irving Baylor. I'm ready to meet him and schedule my surgery and I was hoping for a May date. Maybe I'll see you at one of the support group meetings. I'll be out of town for the next one, but should be a faithful follower beginning in June. My name is Kathi and I live in Grapevine. Hope to hear from you.

Hey BG, so happy for your weekend and the DD's graduation. My youngest is my on again off again college student and since she began work at a doctor's office she has become very interested in a nursing degree! Yippee, a medical professional in my family! Still waiting on a call from my dr for proceeding, but i'll fill you in as soon as i know something. kathi

I've checked here at least three times to see if you had got my message. HOLY Freeeholy is righto! I can't wait to get in tomorrow and get on the phone.
