The Atkins sure did work for me, but every Doc is different.....I forget, where in SC are U and who is your Doc? Nosey, Nosey! All of the shakes on BariacticEating.com are yummy and very hi protien and almost 0 carbs.....Have U tried those? Joy

Hi & Welcome! My big day is Sept. 15! :thumbup: I simply cannot wait! My Doc put me on Atkins for two wks. pre-op....lost 6 lbs. in 5 days....my BMI is low also, but have co-morbities. Best of luck to you...I cannot believe I am not nervous...I really love and trust my Dr. Joy

I am using Dr. Tribble too....maybe you can answer this question....why do most of the people on these boards use that Lexington group? They wre rude to me on my first info seeking call and that was that. Mu surg. is Sept. 15...I adore Dr. Tribble....sometimes office staff has seemed a little disorganized. NOT Judy, I love her too, but the paperwork people and I can't even use ins., am self-pay! Would love to hear about your experience with the group, especially AFTER your surgery Joy Joy

I have not had it yet....mine is the 15 of this month.....so sorry U had the gas....Does Gas X help? Do they give it to you in Hosp. or do you buy first? At least you are over the hill........i am LOOKING at the hill! You take care and keep on doing what you're doing. It can ONLY get better! Joy

They just said "The Atkins Diet"....As I remember that from years ago it was meat, poultry....some veggies, some cheese and that was about it :frown: NOTHING white was a biggie!.....:smile: What I do NOT understand is that some people on this site and the 2 others I visit have no pre-op diet.....guess it depends on your Dr..........Here we go, girlfriend!............... I too, was so happy to read your post.....my BIG DAY is Sept. 15 and I get a bit "wobbly" thinking how close it is! You go girl.....keep up that positive outlook and I hope things STAY smooth for you! :tongue2: Joy

I hate to be a doomsday prophet...but my DH was all for this when I began the seminar route back in May.....I chose a Dr. and told him which practice....he was fine with it...........well, we finally met the surgeon for the first time last Friday, and he (who is also a Doc) acted disinterested, rude, etc.....very UNLIKE his normal self. On the ride home he said he knew "My Secret Plan", :cursing:to get thin and leave him. But, do hear this....we had issues before...he is much older and facing retirement, failing health and has always shown some envy at my youth... HAH.....(53), and happy go lucky attitude. This came out of nowhere, I would never leave him, but it is Tues. and we are barely speaking! If I try and reassure him he gets verbally abusive. It was my size 6 and personality that attracted him from the first. DUH!:thumbup: I'm the last person you want to hear from, right?:thumbup: Joy

I feel for you, I'm borderline bmi with severe co-morbities.....I strap myself into painful body shapers and dress to hide it and do not look 198lbs.....One 300 pounder turned around at the 1st. seminar and said with great wonder, "What are YOU doing here?" I guess I was rude but I'd heard enough elsewhere and I answered,"To avoid becomming like you!" Well, she asked for it! Joy

I am a female, am 5'2" and weigh 198 lbs, do NOT tell me to diet........ I've paid untold $$$ on Physicians Wt. Loss, Nutrisystem, & Dr. Superv. diets.....Yeah!......They worked until you go off......then ever so slowly the lbs. start to come back with friends!...My BP is not controlled by meds. I have severe GERD, and have been diagnosed as a pre-diabetic! All this with barely having the wind to go up a flight of stairs. My husband who is my PCP and my Bariactic Surgeon agree this is the BEST thing I can do for my health. People should not make judgements if they have not walked in our shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbup: Joy

I would be crying.....you are entitled to feel very dissapointed after such a huge build-up that we all feel and then the dreadful letdown. At least it is going to happen and Wed. is just the day after tomorrow!,,But, if you are like me, when something is expected at a certain time, well then it should happen then....I go to pieces too. Please hang on, it WILL HAPPEN! Joy
