    Hair loss

BlueHillNaturals.com. I looked, and the price has gone up to $16.99. Honestly, I did not use the product long enough to really know if it works. If hair loss/thinning is something you're going through temporarily due to surgery or something, then I have found another product that has really saved me while I'm waiting for my hair to get thicker again.. It is on QVC.com. Search Joan Rivers hair products. It is a powder product that you stipple on your scalp with a brush.. It comes in different colors depending on your hair color. I would not be without it. It is around $25 or so.

    Hair loss

I am coming up on 2 years in July since I had my surgery. I have lost 98 pounds, which is amazing, and have only 20 to go, which might be the hardest part since my band is looser, and I'm working out and trying to eat right, so wish me luck! Just a couple of months ago, my hair started falling out less, and I noticed tons of little baby hairs popping up on my head, so I know it is coming back. I still lose some but much less than before. It is still noticeably thin on top, but I know it will take time for the new hair to fill in as it needs time to grow. I have posted several times about this hair product, and you might have already seen it, but if not, I'll say it again because it is has really worked for me in hiding the thinning hair while I wait for it to come back... go to QVC.com and search Joan Rivers hair products. It's looks like eyeshadow powder and comes with a brush and comes in different colors depending on your hair color. You stipple it on your head.. not fun to have to do every day, but it's better than having scalp showing through. It's only about $25. I also used Nioxin for a couple of weeks, and I really did notice less hair falling out, and I stopped using it and noticed a little more coming out again (less than when it was really bad but more than when I was using the Nioxin), so I really do think it works. Hang in there... from my experience, it will get better.

    Lap Band and Hair Loss

Just a quick reply since I've posted this in other places but wanted you guys to get the info as well. I had my surgery 17 months ago and am just now starting to see it come back, so hang in there. In the meantime, I found a great product that will help your confidence and stress while you waiting for it to return. Go to QVC.com and search for Joan Rivers hair products.. different colors to match hair, looks like eyeshadow but comes in colors to match your hair.. around $25. I would not live without it. Hope this helps in some small way!

    Major Hairloss..Any suggestions?

I also experienced this.. it seems almost everyone does. I had my surgery about 17 months ago and I too lost handfuls in the shower each morning and had to clean my brush out every time I brushed my hair. It is just now starting to come back, i.e., little baby bangs growing in and 2-inch hairs sticking up on top of my head. I'm so relieved I'm seeing some progress in the right direction, so hang in there. One thing that has really saved me and helped me not to stress out about it on a daily basis and having to face public with scalp showing is a product I found and use anytime I leave the house. It looks like eyeshadow but comes in colors to match your hair. It comes with a brush to stipple it on the scalp as well. I promise if you get this product, it will help you feel better about this problem while your waiting for it to come back. Go to QVC.com and search for Joan Rivers hair products. It's only about $25 or something.. not too bad. Mine has lasted for months already, and I haven't even hit the bottom of the compact. Please try this.. I am so happy I found it.

    Changes in Restriction

This absolutely happens to me all the time. It is my routine now, and I'm trying to keep track on my calendar when I'm tight and when I'm not to see if it is a specific pattern all the time or not. I have found that I usually can never eat anything first thing in the morning or I have to throw it up and then it's an ongoing cycle for the rest of the day. If I wait a couple of hours and then slowly try to eat something, I can usually eat fine (still slow and carefully but fine). Then, there are days where even if I wait a few hours after waking up, I still cannot eat and am lucky to be able to drink my juice. It is definitely true that too much throwing up will make you swell up inside and be able to get nothing down. The only thing that helps this for me is to eat or drink nothing for 2-3 hours and then try a drink to see if it's back to normal. I totally agree with the person who said that about 1 week prior to your period, it gets a little swollen in there. There are definite periods of time when it's tighter or looser for whatever reason. I usually have 1 week out of every month where I can eat almost too much, and then it goes away, and I have days that I eat almost nothing. I know this is not the best way to go about it, but I just don't want to get any fluid out yet. I have 14 pounds to get to my goal, and I don't want anything to get in the way of that. I am still trying to figure out how to make it work the way it is so I don't have to get any fluid out. I am so afraid that I'll gain the weight back because at this point, I know if I can eat, I will eat. No doubt. Sorry for the looong post!

    Hair Loss

I have been banded now for about 17 months. My hair fell out much worse than after I had children... enough to where I had to keep moving the part of my hair farther over to cover it, and eventually that didn't really help anymore either. I found a great product, which I mentioned in an earlier post a few months ago, that really helps my confidence while I'm waiting for regrowth. It's a powder product (looks like pressed eyeshadow but matches hair color), and you stipple it on the scalp with the brush that comes with it. I would not live without this product right now. If anyone is interested it's on QVC.com. Search for Joan Rivers hair products, and you should find it easily. The good news is that finally, after months and months of losing lots of hair, I am finally seeing regrowth with baby bangs all around my front hairline and lots of little flyaways on top of my head, so I'm relieved to see some progress in the right direction. I don't know if it's diet or what, so I can't help anyone there.. but whatever it is, it seems to be true that it is, in fact, only temporary.. thank goodness. But seriously, if your hair is so thin you can see your scalp shining through, get the product I mentioned above... it really works.

    Hair loss

OMG! I have been banded now for a little over a year, and my hair is still falling out. My hair has always come out more than usual, but it is so thin now, and I am even having to use this powder make-up product to cover the area at the front/top of my head and in the part of my hair to camoflouge (sp?) the scalp. I hate that we all have to go through this, and I pray that it really is temporary, and I am wondering how much longer it will go on before it stops. I also heard that anesthesia can cause this, but over a year later?? I think I'll go see a dermatologist to see what they can tell me. I too have quite a bit come out every time I wash my hair (I wash less often now.) and brushing my hair after the shower, I get a brushfull every time, and anytime I run my hands through my dry hair, I get hairs that come out. I hate this!! If any of you are interested in that product I mentioned.. It's not fun having to put make-up on your head, but at least for the time being, it helps me not feel self-conscious about my scalp being seen by the world. It really does work. Go to QVC.com. It's a Joan Rivers product made especially for the head. It comes with a brush that you stipple it on with, and it comes in like 3 colors. I also got this product (BlueHillNaturals.com). It's called Capilong, and it's supposed to help hair growth. It's like $14 dollars for about 6-7 oz. or something like that. I've only had it for a couple of weeks and do not know yet if it works.
  8. When I feel something is stuck.. which seems to be a lot lately.. for me, it seems like I can't tell something is stuck until I'm on the 3rd or 4th bite. My gauge now is to drink something first and see if it goes down. That way, I can tell if I'm restricted or not before I even try to eat any food. I have found that my pouch is very sensitive to throwing up. If I throw up even once, it swells where I can only have liquids the rest of the day if I'm lucky.. If I throw up several times in a day, I might not even be able to have liquids until the next morning. I possibly need an unfill, but it's costing me $175 dollars, so I'm avoiding it as much as I can. When something is stuck, I also get this discomfort in my back which is very uncomfortable for me. Also, if something is stuck, I will have to burp a lot, and I will have productive burping as well. For me, when something gets stuck, sometimes I try to wait and let it go down since I am so sensitive and throwing up can make my pouch swell up for days at a time, but usually I end up having to throw up to get it out. I have also found that in the mornings, I am much more restricted, but I can almost eat normally for dinner (still very slowly and small bites).
