    who supports right to choose

I believe that the instance that you are thinking of was one in which the person killed the baby in the womb of a pregnant woman without her consent! Which is murder and is not right...however I think things may have been different if the woman had chosen to do it herself for reasons that were beyond her control...My decision was the right one for the position that I was put in and my God supports that.

I'm sorry, but I don't think that anyone has the right to say what they think Jesus or God would say...I pray then and believe I came to the right solution to my "problem". I read the Bible and I have read it through completely twice. God, like most parents, supports his children (me included) in whatever decisions they make in life!!!

It hurts me that you think that if a young GIRL is raped that she should carry that baby and give it away or keep it. At 14 my body was not ready to carry a baby. I was not ready for the body changes that I would have to go through, the emotional change that I would have had to go through, the torment I would have gone through trying to go to middle school pregnant...I was barely in the 8th grade!!! I do not regret my decision and I never will. It's not like I was out having sex with eveyone without protection and then ended up pregnant and then because of my mistake had an abortion...I was a virgin that was RAPED by a family member...I did not make the decision to have sex let alone unprotected sex. I made the right decision. I cried for weeks thinking omg they said I was a murdered...am I a murderer? They called me a whore...am I a whore? You know how many times I asked my parents if it was my fault??? I had to be in counseling and on depression medications. At 14 my biggest worry should have been getting ready for high school not what I had to go through.

Are We ready for a Black President?

I don't think you're wrong at all...The way I look at is: Just because people hate me as a person doesn't change the fact that I am proud of who I am as a person...that is...I guess the way that I look at being proud of being American... I may not be proud of the one running American, but I'm proud to be American...I don't know...I'm young and often confused lol.

Are We ready for a Black President?

Okay...I am not high...I voted for Obama...I understand they had no where to go and I am sorry that I seemed insensitive. I sent money for Survivors of Katrina...I'm not trying to sound rude or anything...I wasn't trying to say that Obama WILL be assasignated I just meant that there are very ignorant people out there that are not ready to see a black man as president. I support Obama and most of his stances. I think he is an amazing man. I never meant it to sound like I was blaming Katrina victims for what happened to them. I never jumped on anyone for not being proud of America I just agreed with someone when they said "seriously". and then I just stated that I was proud...that's all. I am proud and have always been proud to be an American. My husband and the other men and women who spent over a year in Iraq have done things that are good. They have brought school books to children's schools, they have helped people seek refuge else where, they really have done good things, I'm not saying that the war is good or anything like that. I don't think we need to be there, but the soldiers are there and while they're there they're trying to do some good. I am sorry if I upset anyone in anyways as those were not my intentions...I am truly sorry. I did not mean to offend anyone or to make anyone feel like I was attacking them. I would never try to hurt someone and I am sorry...Good luck to all of you on your weightloss...again I am sorry from the bottom of my heart as I didn't mean to hurt anyone...please believe me...

Things happen for a reason...yeah it was painful and yeah it was a decision that I made for myself and for the unborn baby I was carrying for that short amount of time, but my past has shaped the woman that I have become today...At 20 I was blessed by giving birth to a planned baby boy! He was born 2 months early. He was boen 2 pounds 4 ounces and 15 inches long. He's disabled and special needs, but I am so happy that he is my first baby and that I had control over the fact that I was able to have my first baby when it was my choice and not the choice of someone who forced themself on me . Now my son is a hyper 19 month old and if someday I am blessed with another...(fingers crossed) maybe a girl and she (God forbid) ever had to make a decision like this I would be right there holding her hand tell her that it's okay .

Are We ready for a Black President?

I am always proud of America and proud to call myself an American!!! You bring up Katrina and yeah help came late, but the people who stayed behind had a warning to leave and many people, celebrties and normal hard working people have sent money to survivors of Katrina. We gathered as a nation together after 9/11. I see all the good we have done in Iraq...the good that the news doesn't talk about!!! I see all of that and I am proud!!!!!!! I will never stop being proud of my country! Yeah sometimes things that happen here suck, but it could be a lot worse!!! I am proud of who I am and I am proud of the country that I live in and nothing will ever change that.

Are We ready for a Black President?

OMG you sound like Mrs. Obama "This is the first time I have been truly proud of America". My husband just returned from a 15 month tour in Iraq and I can honestly say that I have never not been proud to be an American and I have always been proud of America...yeah we've been sucking for a while, but go ahead and tell that to people in Africa or Iraq...to them we have it good.... :smile2:

I just wanted to say something...I am currently 22. When I was 14 I was raped by a family member. I was a virgin. Weeks later I started feeling sick. I went to the doctors and found out that I was pregnant. You can't even begin to imagine how painful it was for me a 14 year old girl to walk past protesters shouting that I was a murderer and a whore. How is that okay?!?! Would you rather a woman carry a baby that was the product of a rape...everyday the woman resenting and maybe even hating the baby growing inside of her. Or a child who has to have a baby when she's still a baby? A 14 year olds body isn't ready to carry a baby and emotionally not ready for any of that. If it's illegal it's illegal...Don't put yourself in my shoes, but think about it...maybe even put yourself in the shoes of my parents, in the shoes of the child that could have resulted...Whether you are for or against it...don't stand in front of the planned parenthood and shout out your disgusting thoughts at the women going in because you don't know their story you don't know if it's their first or their 21st and you don't know their reasoning!!!

Are We ready for a Black President?

You are very right...Obama's mother and her side of the family was white and his father's side of the family was black...agian...our president should not be elected based on his race, but based on his stance on issues...Congrats America...you're voices have been heard

Are We ready for a Black President?

I don't think we're ready...he hadn't even won yet and there was already a plot to kill him! I think that people voted based on race and not qualifications! People said hey he's black I'm voting or not voting for him...I am not racist by any means, 3 of my brothers are african american and my husband is mexican. I just don't want to see our president assasinated because of his race!!! There are a lot of ignorant people in this world and that's not about to change! I was upset because all of the election coverage was race, race, race. Hey look Oprah's crying. Hey look Jesse Jackson is crying. Great day for african americans...I just think that we needed to vote because we shared in the person's beliefs and their stance on the issues not because of his race...It is what it is...

    Side Pain

I had that too and my surgeon said that it was either a pulled muscle kind of thing from being stretched out during surgery or just some gas...I took a few Gas X strips and things felt better Good luck

    Frist fill today, OUCH!!!

My first fill was horrible!!! The needle going in didn't hurt at all, but the 5 minutes she spent wiggling around the needle trying to find my port did...then when she still couldn't find it she pulled the needle out to let me "rest" and then poked me again, after about 3 more minutes of needle wiggling she finally found it. Not all surgeons leave the "tester" fluid in your band, but a lot do. My band was put in with 3ccs of fluid and then on my first fill she added 2 more ccs to total 5ccs in my 10cc band...I hope my next fill goes a lot smoother, but I think if she would have found it right away there wouldn't have been any complaints of pain from me

    No Smoking = More Eating

I just wanted to say that about 3 years ago I quit smoking and, without changing my eating habits, I gained weight...weight gain is very common when you quit smoking...hang in there you'll be okay!!! Try a hobby if you feel the need to munch on something...I took up crocheting and painting...anytime I feel hungry for a snack I start crocheting and then I don't want to stop Good luck

    Can I or Can't I...?

I've toasted wheat bread and then dipped it in my poached egg yolk and I didn't really have any problems, but I don't have much if any restriction yet...that is what professional eaters do...they dip the hot dog buns in lemonade... lol

    weight watchers on the band?

I think that that would be something you would ask the people at Weightwatchers...I went to weightwatchers preband and there was a lady that went there that had had bypass surgery and she was always complaining that she couldn't get in her points and blah blah blah...lol it always made me feel like crap that I ate all of my points and was still starving. You could also do the core system where you can eat all you want or as little as you want as long as it's all "core food". Call weightwatchers and ask or go on their website...
  21. rodriguezequal

    weight watchers on the band?

Yeah you can do weightwatchers and atkins and stuff...With the nutrisystem and jenny craig though you should be carefull because a lot of surgeons tell you to stay away from pasta, especially if it's been microwaved because that changes their structure... Good luck
  22. I would tell your doctor that you have tried many times to diet and nothing is helping...Tell her that you would like to start trying the meds and that you are considering going to a seminar for lapband surgery and if you want you could even ask her opinion on it if you want to. In the end it is your desision to have it done and it is her duty as a doctor to allow you to seek the medical attention that is right for you...Give it a shot...she may surprise you :rolleyes2:

Calling all self payers! I've got questions.

I had my surgery done at Northwest Weightloss surgery in Everett, WA. I went through CareCredit...all together my surgery cost a little over $16000 and my payments are $302...You can apply online and be approved right away...and you can start using your account immediately because they let you print out a temporary card. I'm only 22 and have bad credit so my parents co signed for me...So worth it...Good luck
