How many sizes did u go down vs. the amt you've lost? curious..
rodriguezequal replied to Crummy78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I went from a size 24/26 to a nice comfortable 18 and I am able to fit comfortably into a size XXL tops instead of tight 3X...lol I love my band!!!! And my bras are all huge on me now :rolleyes2:....that's kind sad...but still :cool2: -
I am so glad that I got this band...I'm down around 32 pounds and I feel great...last month I walked 4.8 miles, over hills, pushing a stroller!!! I thought I was going to die, but it felt great. Dr. Chock wasn't in my network either. I have TriCare. I self paid! She is a wonderful surgeon and thier staff is so supportive and great. It's fun to talk to them because most of them have the band! Good luck!!! It is so so worth it...I would do it all over again in a heartbeat....my only regret...not getting it done sooner . Congrats and you're going to do fine...take care and I'm here if you ever need to talk or have questions

I have to go in next week to get my meds tweeked again...fingers crossed. I hope it helps so my hubby can relax a little. I am so happy that I got banded Good luck everyone. -
Things People Pass Off For Compliments and Things Skinny People Say That Piss You Off
rodriguezequal replied to j_war06's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
When I was 17 one ofthe high school security ladies came up to me and said you look so great and I said thank you so much and then she asked me if I was having a boy or a girl....I cried until my mom came and took me home...I didn't even want to leave the house ever again!!! The more recently my sister-in-law who I'm not too found of came up to me and said thank god you got that band when you did...you were starting to look really puffy and kind of like a slob....I have no idea what people are thinking when they open thier mouths sometimes...lol -

Do you let your band do the work?
rodriguezequal replied to LundyLane's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm not out 6 months, but I have never let the band "do it's work". The band is just a tool...if you work for the band the band will work for you. As my surgeon said the band is in no way a qwuick fix and it's not easy...you have to work for it!!! Good luck! -

This isn't about you being pro life...it's about you pushing your religion...I just want it to stay on topic...please no more fighting about God...Can't we just keep this a clean conversation about how we feel about abortion. Oh and by the way I posted my story so that people on both sides could see that not all people use abortion as an oopsie birth control method...I shared my story because sometimes it helps me and sometimes it even helps other people  Good luck in you weightloss Patty I'm sure you will do great!!! -
Anyone cheat on preop diet?
rodriguezequal replied to nicholeinaz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My mom is Diabetic and the only yogurt she ca eat is the Mountain high plain yogurt...it's pretty much like a greek yogurt...Vanilla and Strawberry are sweetened naturally with pure crystalline fructose, an all natural sweetener with a low glycemic index. Crystalline fructose won’t induce insulin spikes like the cane sugar, organic cane juice, and high fructose corn syrup used in other brands. Plain Lowfat Mountain High Yoghurt is unsweetened and makes a great one-to-one recipe substitute for high-fat ingredients like sour cream, cream cheese, butter, cream, mayonnaise, or even milk. You have to look at the plain yogurts not ones that are fruit flavor or have fruit in them Milk just naturally has sugar in in, so anything made with milk, unless it's specially processed to remove the sugars, will have sugar in it. So some of the sugar you see on the label is from the milk. Dannon Light'n Fit Carb and Sugar Control yogurt has Splenda, so I don't know if you do splenda or not. Just a few that I know of Good luck -
Anyone cheat on preop diet?
rodriguezequal replied to nicholeinaz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are sugar free and splenda sweetened yogurts...I know they're kinda gross, but better than my pre op diet...4-6 EASE shakes a day and one small lean cuisine...blah, but I did it to my best ability...maybe try to find a better yogurt or ask your surgeon what else you can do because the yoghurt isn't doing it for ya....never hurts to ask  -

Can we all just keep this on topic.....PRO-CHOICE or PRO-LIFE....not who's religion/God is better or more forgiving...please. If you want to have a religious battle start a new thread please!!! Thank you -

rodriguezequal replied to 396power's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That's right this is a debate thread in which we simply state our side of the issue not push our opinions onto others...what should have just been sharing sides and stories turned into a disgusting religious argument... -

And then afterwards they would all finish their drinks, shake hands and go home....and then they would do it again next weekend :w00t: lol I meant free as in I am not paying a premium for it... or anything like that...And 100% coverage health insuarance is the least they can do for the sacrifices my husband and our family (and others in the military) have made...and with the way they pay them :puke:lol -

I think it was one individual that seems to be causing such problems...the one that called me a murderer! I hope she knows how hurtful that is and was and how I don't think God would appreciate the way she is treating her fellow beings...God loves all of his children equally. Please do not try to make me sound like a dirty, evil person patty because I am not...in fact I am far from that. -

Anyone cheat on preop diet?
rodriguezequal replied to nicholeinaz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some surgeons wont do the surgery unless you lose 10% of your weight...I know a few people on here that decided they were going to diet on thier own to lose the weight they need to have the surgery instead of following what their surgeon said and they woke up from surgery with no band because they didn't shrink thier liver, which is the point of pre op diets...if you don't shrink your liver enough you don't get the band... -
The old one was so much easier to find things...I hate this new one...you should start a poll...lol

Children under 4 are recommended to take 1/2 a day and adults take a whole one  I also take the Flinstone ones, but it's hard to fight them away from my hubby...lol
